Hope it's not too presumptuous but the last thread was nearly full so thought I'd get a new one ready!

Eskimo I am so pleased for you, you have waited such a long time and it has paid off, i wish you an uneventful nine months

I too are worried about sparkly she was always so lovely on here!!

Magpie that is terrible they are not taking on your referral, so glad your GP is making a stand!!

Flybynight1 · 05/01/2016 20:41

eskimo that is bloody AMAZING news!!! What a story and what a result!! CONGRATULATIONS!!! Grin Grin Grin

Pixa · 05/01/2016 20:43

Congratulations Soda & Eskimo!

Honestly, we haven't had much time to do the blog lately. We're too busy fighting out CCG...

When we first for our diagnosis (June/July) our CCG offered three rounds of IVF. We were then referred to a fertility consultant who did lots more tests and investigations and then eventually agreed with our GPs primary diagnosis. When our fertility consultant referred us for IVF at the beginning of December, he told us we would only get one round of funding. The CCG made drastic cuts to service without public consultation. They only informed patients who were currently being funded, and not those who were on the care pathway. To make it worse, they were asked about their funding offer and if there were any plans to change their offer in July via a Freedom of Information request. They specifically stated they had no plans to change funding - they cut the funding less than five weeks later; the speed in which they made the decision shows a lack of consideration. They didn't even have time to change their policy; the policy stating the three round offer was in place until December. We're challenging the decision - we are working with local health bodies/MPs/Councillors and national charities. If needed, we will be seeking legal advice too. Needless to say, we are knackered. We have been told that we would apply for an Individual Funding Request but that doesn't help every other couple suffering due to the same cuts.

We're also exploring our IVF clinics. We've seen two, we have one more to see next week and then hopefully we will be able to make a decision about where to get treated. We've been told that treatment could start in substantially less than the 18 weeks standard. We are in health mode; lots of Zita West Vitamins, both trying acupuncture soon, low-sugar low-grade low-carb low-caffeine high-protein diet, vegetable juice for breakfast...

We're determined to throw everything at this possible single opportunity to get pregnant. At the same time, we're so very aware that they may find no sperm when they go in for the surgical retrieval. It's an emotional roller-coaster like no other!

I am sorry if I'm always absent and just pop in, I promise I am still lurking and wishing you all so well.

MagpieCursedTea · 05/01/2016 21:49

Soda and DizzyM thanks for the tip! I have just emailed my nearest Zita West acupuncturist!

Sammy sorry you were baby bombed. The skiing holiday sounds ace though!

Eskimo congratulations again my lovely! You couldn't be less of a LPB, so thrilled for you Thanks

Pixa So sorry your CCG are being so shite. It sounds like you know your stuff though. All the best fighting them and with choosing/having your treatment.

Beansprout30 · 05/01/2016 21:57

pixa good luck with your fight against the CCG, seems so wrong what they've done and I hope you win your case. Fab posivitity on your plans to move forward, miracles do happen (I don't want that to sound like you're gonna need one to get your baby!) but I hope you know what I mean! You just don't know what the future holds Smile

Kellz92 · 06/01/2016 00:34

Good luck pixa

Magpie* I'm glad your GPs appealing. Hope you get it all sorted out soon. And as for my chart. Temp was still high today at 36.47 but lowering so I dunno. Think I'm going to relax a bit and see if it helps. Well try relax lol

Hope we're all well xx

DizzyMerry · 06/01/2016 14:15

Congrats again eskimo. Well deserved after all the rigmarole you've been through.

Wishing you all the best pixa.

Sorry you were baby bombed sammy. Your ski holiday sounds fab.

It's always hard to relax kelz when we're ttc. Keeping everything crossed for you.

Cd6 and AF has left. My cycle seems to have gone back to normal so hoping my body has now settled itself again.

DizzyMerry · 06/01/2016 14:17

Oh I see boris has also booked a skiing holiday. Sounds brilliant and fx it does invoke the law of sod.

BorisIsBack · 06/01/2016 18:35

Magpie how crap you can't get the referral. Keep pushing.

pixa so bloody proud of your campaigning and advocacy for fairness and transparency. You deserve an mbe and a baby.

I've had all my results back now (day 3, day 21 and ultrasound) all perfectly normal results apparently. Next step HSG then straight to ivf in the Czech rep.

Sodasoda · 06/01/2016 19:21

Such amazing news eskimo! Your story is inspiring - huge congratulations. I hope your pregnancy is less stressful!

pixa - that sounds so unfair. Good luck with your fight.

boris - good news the results came back clear. Although I guess it must be frustrating as well not to have a reason.

Really hope it's still ok me lurking round here. I had cramps again today and keep dashing to the loo on knicker check watch. I'm just so nervous and keep expecting things to go wrong.

spinningirl10 · 06/01/2016 19:51

Eskimo!!!!!! I'm so thrilled to see your news! Congratulations what a fantastic start to the New Year. Wishing you a healthy pregnancy xx
Pixa, that's crap! Good luck with your fight. Have you considered ivf abroad? It would certainly be cheaper than the UK.
Sorry to barge in when I've been awol for months! I'm still lurking now and again watching for the long timers to get their bfp's. I have everything crossed that this will be your year and sticky Bfps are heading your way xx

BorisIsBack · 06/01/2016 20:05

Spinning! I've missed you. Hope you are doing ok. Xxxx

Rainy34 · 06/01/2016 20:19

Lovely to see you here Spinning , hope you are well!!

spinningirl10 · 06/01/2016 20:41

Hi Boris and Rainy, I'm not really back, just stopping bySmile
Yes I'm good thanks. We're not officially ttc anymore :( I've just had another birthday and I think the odds are stacked against us. We always said we'd give ourselves till the end of the year so I've had time to get my head round it although I ov in a week so we'll see how I am then!! There's been lots of tears but I'm very lucky to have 2 children already, can't believe my youngest is 10 this year!! Life is good here in the sunshine.
I do lurk here as I so want to see you all with your bfps and I also hang around on the FB page.
Thanks for asking after me xx

FuzzyOwl · 06/01/2016 20:48

I have lots of catching up to do as you are all so chatty. I am on day 12 now and ovulated around day 19 last month, so started dtd eod from yesterday and will carry on now until positive OPKs.

Sorry to hear that spinning. Not sure if you remember me (I used to be SunbathingCat until the whole thing with the hacking last year) but we were on the ttc buses in 2014. I hope everything goes well for you.

chopsface · 06/01/2016 21:07

Massive congratulations to Eskimo!!!

Hope you get somewhere with your case pixa

Best of luck with ivf Boris

I just remembered who heir is! She had a baby boy Nov 27th, the day after I had baby chops. She was overdue and I was 3 weeks early.

Good luck for 2016 everyone x

spinningirl10 · 06/01/2016 21:13

Sunbathing! Yes I remember youSmileGood to see you. How are you?

FuzzyOwl · 06/01/2016 21:45

I'm good thanks spinning. Time is not on my side, so despite having a 7 month old, I am ttc again.

eskimoflo · 06/01/2016 21:51

Thank you so much for your kind words and thoughts everyone; it means a lot. I am still lurking about (a bit scared to go anywhere else at the moment!) and will try to offer words of advice and definitely support where needed.

With all of these old names, (lovely to see you spinning ) it feels like the old bus again!

Pixa I'm so sorry that you're having to go through all of this. You're amazing to find the strength (and knowledge!) to carry on with this fight. If there's anything we can do, please let us know (petitions, letters etc.)

Boris I am glad you have a sound plan in place for moving forward and that all of your tests are clear. Good luck with IVF! x x x

Soda Huge congratulations! (Has it sunk in yet?!)

To everyone else: woodpigeon , sammy , DizzyN , Rainy , Flyby , Magpie , Bean , DizzyM , Nervous , Fuzzy and anyone else that I've missed, I have everything crossed that you will all get your BFPs soon. I want 2016 to be full of BFPs! I will keep waving my pom poms frantically for you all! Star

spinningirl10 · 06/01/2016 22:04

Good luck Sunbathing, hope to see you with a bfp soon although ttc with a baby must be hard work!

woodpigeon123 · 07/01/2016 06:03

Sending hugs to those waiting, those fighting battles, and everyone on this lovely bus.... I've missed it!

I'm on day 28 of cycle now, 13dpo, and although temp isn't high, it also hasn't dropped....

I might test tomorrow? Normally now I just wait for AF to come before testing as it feels marginally less heartbreaking!

The Bumsnet Bus: All aboard for destination BFP!
DizzyNorthernBird · 07/01/2016 06:48

spinning! I miss you as well, please come back! I bet you get your bfp once your body thinks it's off the hook......Grin

pixa I'm in awe as always at your fighting spirit. Not many would launch a war against the mighty nhs! I suspect I wouldn't be alone in thinking I would probably curl up and go into moping mode If I was in your position. But where does moping get us....nowhere!

AF is almost done here but have got a while to wait until my fertile window. I'm concentrating on sorting out some problems at work and getting stuck into my half marathon training instead.

DizzyNorthernBird · 07/01/2016 06:52

chops I realised after posting that you'd called her knit and I'd said heir but I'm pretty sure she's the same person? (I remember her from the FB group because we have the same name in RL!)

DizzyNorthernBird · 07/01/2016 06:54

Actually I'm wrong, I've just remembered who knit is! Not the same person but glad to hear both are doing well!
