Hi all,
I've been away for many weeks and so feel like an LPB, but I've been persuaded by some of you lovely ladies that I'm not, and so, as one of the original 'breakaway Bumsnetters', I thought I'd pop on and let you know that on Saturday morning, I got a BFP!
I honestly held out no hope at all. I was trying to temp, but failing miserably, took no conception tablets at all, didn't even crack open an OPK and we DTD 4 times, on CD11, CD12, CD15 and CD17 (the last two when we were on a 4-day jaunt to Germany, to the Christmas markets).
I had progesterone tests on CD21 (18th December), which read 14 and therefore no-one thought that the third dose of 150mg of clomid had worked, and so I was booked in for a follow-up consultant's appointment on 21st January. After that, we spent Christmas in the Lakes, where I drank mulled wine, ate Camembert and went horse-riding!
I POAS on Monday 28th December, just on the off-chance and it was a BFN so I also got very drunk on NYE.
Anyway, my boobs had been feeling quite tender and sore, and then on Saturday, I woke up, went downstairs and every step felt like torture as they felt so heavy and swollen, so I decided to POAS again and, to my surprise, it was positive. I did a cheapy Boots test to check and the line was there, although much fainter then the strip test. In the afternoon I did a digi and it said 'Pregnant 1-2!'
For those of you unfamiliar with my story, I came off BC pill in November 2014 and my periods never returned, so I haven't actually had a natural AF for about 20 years! I was very quickly prescribed progesterone tablets to bring on a fake AF and had all the usual tests. Then, in June, I was prescribed 50mg and then 100mg of clomid, neither of which resulted in ovulation. My first 150mg did make me ovulate, but the second one didn't. Third time lucky, as this round obviously did! I think I must have ovulated on CD18, as we DTD on CD17, and prog levels were only 14 on CD21, which means I must have ovulated later. So, by those calculations, I will be about 5 weeks-ish.
I just wanted to update my story and let those of you facing similar problems ( nervous magpie ) know that it will happen! You have all been such a support to me over the last year, and I am keeping everything crossed that you will all get your BFP's very soon. I honestly could not have made it through without you ladies. You're all amazing. Keep plodding on, keep getting the sperm in. You will have rubbish days when you think it is all in vain, but you will pick yourselves up and get back on it, because we're Bumsnetters. That's what we do, right? Much love x x x x
