Hope it's not too presumptuous but the last thread was nearly full so thought I'd get a new one ready!

You never know woodpigeon - fingers crossed for you. It's hard to say - have you been taking temps at different times? There are quite a few open circles.

nervoussam I checked with my friend the name of the drug she is on before posting - she TTC #1 for over 2 years. She never got AF at all. Clomid didn't make her ovulate so she went on metformin and 4 months later she was pregnant. She's now back on it TTC number 2! Hope that's useful in some way xx

woodpigeon123 · 04/01/2016 19:20

soda yes, times vary quite a bit.. Today and yesterday I took at 3:30am as I got up to go the toilet, and thought I wouldn't sleep for long enough after to have proper temps. (If that even makes sense!)

Charting confuses me!

Kellz92 · 04/01/2016 19:25

Temp still high today. My monitor is still giving highs. I thought it was last week I ovulated alas I had camps and ewcm. Still have cramps. Loads a symptoms actually but not spotting! AF due next Monday. Thank you for having a look for me xx

Kellz92 · 04/01/2016 19:25

Alas = last week as lol

Sodasoda · 04/01/2016 19:46

woodpigeon I'm certainly no charting expert although I've read and stalked a lot of charts before doing it myself Blush I'm a fellow night wee-er which does make it tough. I set my alarm at 7.15 every day and take it then - even if I got up in middle of night for wee. I would only take temp earlier than that of I got up for a wee after 5.30 and I would make a note then.

chopsface · 04/01/2016 19:47

sammy unfortunately no one has heard anything from sparkly since just after her 20 week scan. Not even purdey :-( we are all very concerned about her. We knew that sickness prevented her from posting during much of her pregnancy but even if she went 2 weeks over the baby should have been born a week ago at least :-/

Kellz92 · 04/01/2016 19:55

Hope everything's ok with her chops. Xx

Kellz92 · 04/01/2016 19:56

Soda that's like me my alarm is set for 7am. If I have another cycle I think I'll understand it better! Hopefully xx

loopylou1984 · 04/01/2016 20:20

Oh no :(. Please let me know if you hear anything from her? She got me through at lot of dark times a year or so ago, I really hope she is ok. Xx

loopylou1984 · 04/01/2016 20:23

Re charting and night time weeing:
I'm the same as soda, alarm is set for 6am (when dh gets up Sad) so providing my wee time is earlier than 4 I temp as normal at 6 but just make a note. Any time after 4 and I take it then. Although I've been really bad recently, think I've just lost the will with it! X

Pixa · 04/01/2016 20:31

I often think of Sparkly, hope she is well.

Chops time seems to be flying.

Hope you're well Sammy.

Beansprout30 · 04/01/2016 21:36

To anyone thinking of giving acupuncture a try is say go for it if you can afford it, I'm convinced that's what did it for us.

My acupuncturist was also focused on getting my body warmed up and recommended hot water bottles on lower back and to rest feet on, also told me not to eat any cold foods or drinks as that just makes the body have to work even harder to get warmed up.

soda congratulations on your bfp! Smile

DizzyMerry · 04/01/2016 23:35

Really hope everything's ok with sparkly.

Pixa when do you start IVF?

Bean I have been thinking about having accupuncture again as I'm sure it helped us last time along with the vitamins. If it doesn't happen this cycle then I'm going to give it a go again.

MagpieCursedTea · 05/01/2016 09:15

Nervous 50mg of clomid never did anything for me, I needed 100mg to get me to ovulate. Sorry for the bfn. Hope you can get your next round sorted soon!

Soda your chart gives me hope that my all over the place charts might not be as bad as they look!

Woodpigeon I think your chart looks okay! Best of luck!

Kellz your chart looks promising too. Fx for you!

Bean and everyone else who has mentioned acupuncture. It sounds like a lot of you have had positive experiences! Do you need to look for a fertility specialist acupuncturist? Or are they just general practitioners?

Waves to everyone else!

I had a bit of a rubbish day yesterday, spoke to my doctor who said that there's a private company that check all their referrals to make sure they're needed. Apparently this company doesn't think my scan results or constant bleeding warrant a referral to gynaecology. My doctor was quite cross as he had spoken directly to the gynaecologist and they both agreed I needed to be seen. He's appealing the decision but no idea what's going to happen if it gets turned down again. I've also been having PMT symptoms again and had cramping and the bleeding back from spotting into more AF type bleeding again. Not having a good time!

OP posts:
Sodasoda · 05/01/2016 10:52

Ah magpie, so sorry you're having such a tough time. I can't believe the company says your symptoms don't warrant a referral! Angry I'm glad your GP is fighting your corner - hope the decision gets over-turned.

Re acupuncture - yes, I went down the fertility specialist route for that. I searched on Zita West's website. I think she was the original and so fertility specialist acupuncturists are Zita west trained. There's a list of approved therapists on her website. Just google it but I can PM you if you can't find it xx

DizzyMerry · 05/01/2016 14:59

Sorry you're having a tough time magpie. It's unbelievable that the company thinks your symptoms don't warrant a referral. What planet are these people on?! I'm pleased your GP is appealing the decision and I would fight this all the way. Bonkers!
With regards to acupuncture I looked for someone who specialises in fertility as I felt they'd have more knowledge. Good idea about looking on the Zita West website. There seem to be quite a few out there so you shouldn't have trouble finding anyone. Make sure they're approved by the BAC though.

loopylou1984 · 05/01/2016 17:55

Magpie - I am fuming on your behalf! Regardless of ttc mid cycle bleeding should be investigated, how can they just ignore you like that?! Your go sounds awesome, fx the appeal works. Keep us updated.

Baby bombed on Facebook just now, am consoling myself with the fact that I'm going to book a fab skiing holiday and she can't do that now (although we all know I'd switch places in a heart beat).

We have a host of appointments coming up in February - mixture of NHS and private with transfer pencilled in for early March. I'm wishing the first quarter of the year away in an attempt to get to March! Confused

eskimoflo · 05/01/2016 18:07

Hi all,

I've been away for many weeks and so feel like an LPB, but I've been persuaded by some of you lovely ladies that I'm not, and so, as one of the original 'breakaway Bumsnetters', I thought I'd pop on and let you know that on Saturday morning, I got a BFP!

I honestly held out no hope at all. I was trying to temp, but failing miserably, took no conception tablets at all, didn't even crack open an OPK and we DTD 4 times, on CD11, CD12, CD15 and CD17 (the last two when we were on a 4-day jaunt to Germany, to the Christmas markets).

I had progesterone tests on CD21 (18th December), which read 14 and therefore no-one thought that the third dose of 150mg of clomid had worked, and so I was booked in for a follow-up consultant's appointment on 21st January. After that, we spent Christmas in the Lakes, where I drank mulled wine, ate Camembert and went horse-riding! Shock I POAS on Monday 28th December, just on the off-chance and it was a BFN so I also got very drunk on NYE. Blush

Anyway, my boobs had been feeling quite tender and sore, and then on Saturday, I woke up, went downstairs and every step felt like torture as they felt so heavy and swollen, so I decided to POAS again and, to my surprise, it was positive. I did a cheapy Boots test to check and the line was there, although much fainter then the strip test. In the afternoon I did a digi and it said 'Pregnant 1-2!'

For those of you unfamiliar with my story, I came off BC pill in November 2014 and my periods never returned, so I haven't actually had a natural AF for about 20 years! I was very quickly prescribed progesterone tablets to bring on a fake AF and had all the usual tests. Then, in June, I was prescribed 50mg and then 100mg of clomid, neither of which resulted in ovulation. My first 150mg did make me ovulate, but the second one didn't. Third time lucky, as this round obviously did! I think I must have ovulated on CD18, as we DTD on CD17, and prog levels were only 14 on CD21, which means I must have ovulated later. So, by those calculations, I will be about 5 weeks-ish.

I just wanted to update my story and let those of you facing similar problems ( nervous magpie ) know that it will happen! You have all been such a support to me over the last year, and I am keeping everything crossed that you will all get your BFP's very soon. I honestly could not have made it through without you ladies. You're all amazing. Keep plodding on, keep getting the sperm in. You will have rubbish days when you think it is all in vain, but you will pick yourselves up and get back on it, because we're Bumsnetters. That's what we do, right? Much love x x x x Flowers Star Flowers Star Flowers Star

DizzyNorthernBird · 05/01/2016 19:06

Congratulations again eskimo! It's great to read your full stats. It's just occurred to me that this could have been the one and only time you ovulated? And you managed to catch the egg! Great work Smile Star. It's always a pleasure and a great morale boost to read stories like yours where bfp has occurred against all odds.
