Good luck tomorrow mascara!

My temp had shot up this morning leading me to think I ovulated yesterday however I got a positive solid smiley face on a clear blue OPK on Thursday.

So I think I'm 1 DPO. Sore boobs - don't normally get sore boobs but had it last month and it meant nothing.

Orianna I'm with you on #symptomwatch

Mascara, hope ur scan goes well, can't wait to hear.

My DH rang our GP today to chase up our fertility appt, although it is a large surgery apparently the only person who can help us is the 'fertility specialist' who is currently on 2 weeks leave. So DH said it's all taking too long so we will be going private, to which he was told we can't go private without a referral and for the referral we need to get an appt with the GP (whos on leave)!! So unhelpful!!

But I've contacted a private clinic who said no referral needed so now going to book my appt (if only to stick 2 fingers up at the dr who said we can't get an appt without the referral). As it includes an internal scan is there a best time in my cycle to go? x

mascaraisamust · 12/01/2016 18:32

All went well today ladies. Been moved forward 13+1 Grin baby wriggling and had what appeared to be hiccups! So relieved. Another week/two of pessaries to wean myself off. The consultant came to see me who saw me after the mc, he said if I have any issues I could be under his care. So I can breathe a sigh of relief for now. Thanks all for being so supportive! Wouldn't have got hear without you x

So pleased for you mascara, how exciting Star

That's so frustrating, sunshine, I don't know what I'd do in your position! Someone's dropped the ball somewhere. Did they say they would send you for a scan?

Is it possible your DH accidentally requested a referal to the fertility centre? i would imagine they would need their 'specialist' GP back to approve all of those (from what I can gather at our practice). But if he's just chasing something that should already be in progress then that's something different...

I've just been having a think and I seem to recall that when I went for my pelvic examination (just a 'normal' doc asked for it, it wasn't the 'fertility specialist') I didn't get an appointment through, so I called radiology at the hospital, who said I wasn't in the system, so I called the GP practice back, and the receptionist put me through 'to the person who sends all the referrals to the hospital' (it did sound like she was stuck in a broom cupboard somewhere lol!). To cut a long story short she re-sent it and my appointment letter arrived within a couple of days.

Glad you're enjoying your holiday Mrsunsure, sorry to hear AF got you.

Thanks for all of the positive thoughts by the way Smile. Feeling a lot more hopeful again.

sunshinegirl12 · 12/01/2016 19:19

Congrats Mascara, it all sounds lovely.

Well this 'fertility specialist' works as a normal GP at our local surgery, but apparently she is the only one who can deal with anything fertility related including sending off the referrals. She said that when I booked in for my STI test and smear she would be sending off the referral for my fertility appointment which would include an internal scan (at the start of Dec) I do wonder if she's forgotten or it's gotten lost somewhere, but it just seems a bit much that nobody else can even tell us if the referrals been made yet, esp as she's not back until the 1st of Feb!! Angry For some reason they are really anti us going private, he spoke to a different GP and a receptionist who both said we can't go private without a referral, but I've checked directly with the private clinic and they're wrong. Hopefully they will now just give us copies of our test results without being anymore awkward.

Glad to hear you're feeling a bit more positive too. x

iamabear · 12/01/2016 19:56

Oh i see, that is annoying then. It did take a couple of GP visits before he actually referred us, even though each time he kept saying, 'come back when you've done x and I'll refer you' and then he'd find another hoop he forgot to tell us to jump through lol. So it sounds like your GP hadn't actually referred you yet which sucks. She probably wanted to check your STI results were clear first.

Yeah unbelievable there is no one who can step in while she's away, and I have no idea why they are so anti-private! Our GP seemed against it but purely from a financial point of view I think!

You could try ringing your local NHS centre for reproductive medicine just to double check no referral has been made... would be annoying to wait 'til the 1st and then find out she'd done everything her end months ago...

sunshinegirl12 · 12/01/2016 20:13

Thanks for your advice Iamabear. It's even more frustrating that we are going to be away for a couple of weeks overlapping with when she's back too so it's atleast another month until we can speak to her. My DH never gets annoyed, I'm the stressy one, but even he's had enough now, so I think the plan is to book a private appointment for when we are back and see if we get the appointment in the meantime, I will feel better knowing we have the private appt as backup. I hadn't thought about ringing the NHS centre for reproductive medicine directly, that are a couple of local hospitals so do you think just ring round? (Sorry i'm so clueless!)

Just one little worry, if we start down the private route, if they say we need IVF can we go back to the NHS or would going private affect our NHS entitlement? x

Congratulations on a happy, healthy scan mascara x

Mrsunsure, I emailed the clinic too and am still waiting to hear back but I don't want an appt until the end of Feb or early March.

I'm only 6dpo but not got a good feeling, I've had really sore and heavy boobs since ovulation but today thats totally stopped and I'm getting little pinching cramps that I usually get in the 2ww before AF. Sad

mrsrose33 · 13/01/2016 15:14

Sunshine, my sister was being treated for endometriosis privately, but when she had to have IVF as a result she had the choice to do it via NHS. She went to Guy's as they have the best success rates, so you should even get the choice as to what hospital you use. Make sure (if it comes to it) you research all their success rates etc :)

sunshinegirl12 · 13/01/2016 18:29

Thanks for the advice Mrsrose. How are you getting on, is it your scan today? Also, the private clinic has an appt available for an internal scan when I will be 2dpo, do you think this is an ok time in my cycle to go for them to be able to check my lining, or does it not matter when? Thankyou x

OrianaBanana · 14/01/2016 13:09

sunshine it's not over this cycle until AF shows up! How are you feelin now? Fingers crossed.

No symptoms here of any sort at 6dpo strangely enough. #SymptomWatch

mrsrose33 · 14/01/2016 13:41

Sunshine12 my last internal scan before I got my bfp was at 3dpo. At that point my gynaecologist confirmed my lining was thin so I think the lining is meant to thicken before we ovulate so they can tell a fair amount early after ovulation. However, if they do say your lining is thin, check how thin. Mine was 5mm and it obviously carried on thickening before implantation just enough for me to implant so it might not be as much as a concern as we are led to believe. Also, they can prescribe you Cyclogest pessaries if your lining is thin so there are easy remedies.

Had my scan last night a 6weeks 4days and it went really well. Haven't felt pregnant at all most of this week so was slightly worried I'd be told there was nothing there but we saw the heartbeat flickering and little Bean. Apparently everything is as it should be so far and no issues with my lining etc :)

sunshinegirl12 · 14/01/2016 14:46

So pleased to hear all went well MrsRose, it must be such an amazing thing to see. Thanks for your advice, I've booked a private appt for an internal scan at the end of Feb, apparently the clinic is a satellite for Guys hospital and if we were to need treatment like IVF that is where it would be. So hearing you say they have good success rates is encouraging.

Not really any symptoms Oriana, boobs still not sore anymore, with the odd pre AF type cramp. x

Sunshinegirl2015 · 15/01/2016 14:34

Sunshine I had an internal scan on CD2 whilst AF was in town and one at 6DPO - they could tell me the lining etc both times and I was told it doesn't matter when in your cycle.

I need advice! I ovulated last Sunday and have the form to get my day 21bloods done. Apparently the path lab is closed Saturday and Sunday's. They receptionist at my GPs knew nothing and kept saying can't you go today or Monday (face palm). If I went on Monday I'd be 8DPO - do you think this would be OK?

I think my progesterone levels are low anyway and last cycle I only had a 9day LP. At 8DPO would they be higher or lower in theory that at 7DPO?
