Mrsunsure - I had spotting from 10dpo for about a week on cyclogest - it must have been implantation though as I got a nice clear BFP on 12dpo

Mrsunsure, although I've been trying a bit less time than you (a year) I totally get what your saying. Maybe when you get home go back to your Dr and tell them how much it is affecting you - take DH if you need some support, if they are still no use is it possible you could try private? Has your DH had a SA done yet? Have you spoken to your GP about going private - for some reason our GP is really against it and does seem to be understanding (though saying that I'm still waiting for my referral letter).

It's almost impossible to totally forget about it isn't it, its easier when I'm not in work as the girls here are obsessed with gossiping about who's having a baby / who's too old to have a baby (think they include me in this category) but even when I'm keeping busy outside of work if I feel sick/get cramps etc it just makes me start obsessing again. If I don't distract myself I get myself in a big panic about it all. x

mascaraisamust · 04/01/2016 14:27

Dear me ladies, it is so difficult Sad but you will get pregnant and you will have babies. I know how it feels so I can't say 'relax' or 'it'll happen soon' but I'm sure your it will happen for you all. If it doesn't happen in the next few months and the referrals are going no where, go private to get advice if anything!

I was the same as Mrs, on progesterone, spotting and 11dpo, got the bfp 10dpo. Nothing since thankfully.

Mrsrose I am 11+2, scan in 8 days. Nerves are starting to kick in now but I've had no spotting since what I think was implantation this time so fingers crossed. The family all know now too, difficult to hide it.

Yes feeling down here too. Sad Got my progesterone test, as expected it's low (7 and it should be around 10 minimum I believe), although testosterone and prolactin are fine.

I need to redo FSH and LH Angry

I've been looking at meds I might be given and progesterone looks a good option (to my unmedical way of thinking) - DH is dead against Clomid in case we end up with twins Confused but I have to say getting pregnant at all seems a remote possibility. Especially as he is depressed and bding more than twice in my 'fertile window' (if it's fertile at all) is a big ask. Sad

OrianaBanana · 04/01/2016 17:09

What I'm now wondering is if I normally ovulate on day 17-19 should my 'day 8' LH test be on day 11-13? Confused Otherwise it will certainly show as low won't it?

sunshinegirl12 · 04/01/2016 17:37

Oriana, sorry to hear you're feeling down tooSad I'm not sure with the day 8 test as I've only had the day 3 and 21 bloods so far. On a positive note, now your test has shown you definitely have low progesterone you will more likely be given progesterone to help you, and get you your BFP sooner. Although my result came back ok, I still don't think my levels are great but won't get prescribed anything as as far as the NHS are concerned my levels are fine.

I didn't realise clomid was more likely to give twins. x

OrianaBanana · 04/01/2016 17:49

Hmmm sorry to hear that sunshine. My friend who started trying at the same time as me had her baby at the end of November. It is hard.

Yes apparently there's a small risk of multiple pregnancies with Clomid. Any risk is too much for DH who has only just come round to the one more (we have one, he took 9 months, 5 years ago).

Still, keeping on keeping on. Hugs to those that do hugs xx

sunshinegirl12 · 04/01/2016 18:43

How long have you been trying this time Oriana?

I'm CD 11 today, usually I would have had a positive OPK yesterday and today, but nothing so far. As I wasn't OPKing before this, not sure if I've missed it this month or its still to happen. Confused

sunshinegirl12 · 04/01/2016 19:24

I'm so excited, my fertility monitor has just arrivedSmile

OrianaBanana · 04/01/2016 20:18

That will help sunshine!

Trying consciously for 11 months but came off the pill long before. I'm 36. x

Mrsunsure, I do totally understand as I feel the same way, I go through days when I feel so down I can't focus on anything else and what I'll do if it never happens for me. I do think it would be worth your DH getting a SA done just to rule that out if he hasn't already. When we went to our local drs we asked to be booked in with the fertility specialist there which is why I think she was a little more understanding. My cycle is the same length as yours I think, 23 days, but my Dr wasn't concerned as my cycle has always been this way. x

Mrs that was my issue, hence why we went private and low and behold they agreed LP issue, progesterone and possibly Clomid needed and wrote to my gp telling them to get my bloods done (as they refused) and DHs gp to allow his to have a SA. So it can be done, just an expensive long winded way about it x

OP posts:
mascaraisamust · 05/01/2016 09:53

Oh and the nhs agreed to do my bloods and DHs SA then! So was worth the £135 for that alone.

OP posts:
mascaraisamust · 05/01/2016 09:57

Sorry I keep writing as Im reading back in your comments! 'Your young don't worry', 'your cycle hasn't changed' - for one, the private consultant understood that we'd been trying nearly a year and the time was right now, dismissing on age is not a medical diagnosis! And the cycle could be the issue if you LP isn't normal no matter what the length. Save money, go private even if it's just one consultation for a chat and some advice but my place were ready to prescribe after the second consultation.

OP posts:
mrsmugoo · 05/01/2016 11:34

When I saw the private doctor he said it didn't matter how long we'd been trying - if my LP was 7-9 days consistently then he classed that as a dysfunctional cycle and it would cause issues with conceiving and warrant treatment.

mrsrose33 · 05/01/2016 12:57

Hi ladies, so sorry to hear that you're all feeling down :( I totally get your frustration - especially when you feel you're doing everything you can.

Mrsunsure, yes I had spotting issues from when I came off the pill last May. It seemed to get worse each month too. First month I had one day, next I had 3, until my worst month I spotted for 6 days before my period. I'd never had that before, even when my endomestriosis was untreated. I finally realised that the only thing different in my routine was the fact i was taking Pregnacare (which also gave me sore throats every day). My cycles were ridiculously long (up to 36 days) but my LP was 15 days like clockwork. I switched to Boots own brand and the spotting stopped (I had spotting for one day before my period but I felt that was more normal). I also felt so much better. The only thing was my LP went down to 11 days, but in the end that seemed not to be an issue as I think I implanted quite early. Doctors and my surgeon for mt endo said the spotting was no issue and I shouldn't be worried. I insisted on tests, had yet another internal scan which spotted my thin lining, and day 21 blood tests which ended up being too late as I didn't realise my LP had reduced. However it showed I had ovulated and progesterone wasn't a concern. Long story short if you're taking Preganacare I'd advise experimenting by coming off it and see if that makes a difference.

I've never tried Agnus Castus but I found Evening Primrose Oil was brilliant for my CM.

I saw mention of Clomid - Oriana are you having issues ovulating? I've never used it as seem to ovulate ok but I have read (from my research when I was trying to work out what caused mine - I think it was the contraceptive pill) that it can cause thin lining issues so I'd use with care...

I'd agree that the best way to go would be a specialist privately if you can - GPs just don't have enough knowledge of this kind of issue.

sunshinegirl12 · 05/01/2016 13:30

My LP has been 11 days for the last couple of cycles so I feel happier with that but just worries me what else it could be. I wasn't sure if I'd missed ovulation this month but seem to have a lot of egg white CM today so hoping I haven't. I have a holiday at the end of the month but if still no luck after that I'm going to book my private appt.

How are all you ladies getting on? Mascara, when is your scan? x

mrsrose33 · 05/01/2016 14:07

Sunshine I can't wait for you to start using the monitor, I think it's going to be a huge help! Do you take your basal body temperature?

mrsmugoo · 05/01/2016 16:17

Temping is really the only way of actually confirming ovulation has taken place. Monitors and OPKs are great but only confirm a hormone surge prior to possibly ovulating.

mascaraisamust · 05/01/2016 16:38

Sunshine my scan is a week today. Trying to be positive, got no reason not to be this time I guess but it's hard. Sickness and loss of appetite has kicked in today randomly Hmm I thought approaching 12 weeks I'd be coming out of it.

Maybe you'll ovulate slightly later sunshine? Maybe a bfp before your holiday or when you come back?!

OP posts:
sunshinegirl12 · 05/01/2016 17:33

Not long to wait for your scan then Mascara, must be exciting for you.

I have temped on cycles in the past and my temp rise always follows 2days of positive opks. x

sunshinegirl12 · 05/01/2016 17:49

Still getting a negative OPK so still not sure if i've missed ov or not... so much for taking the relaxed approach and not wanting to OPK/temp while we were away!! Silly me! Blush x
