How strange, keep testing though sunshine.

I am excited/scared...

Exciting mascara! Fingers crossed for you x

Some great advice on here Grin

Yes I'm temping too and usually see a temp rise after a positive OPK though then I usually stop charting til AF arrives Blush. So I think I'm ovulating OK but of course the GP doesn't really care what I say about my cycle Hmm

I'm not on Clomid mrsrose, just idly researching, but I hear it can be used to 'strengthen' ovulation so as to increase progesterone later on and so is sometimes used in cases with low progesterone... if it's an option though I'd rather just have the progesterone. DH would have a fit if I took Clomid.

mrsmugoo · 05/01/2016 19:53

Letting you into a little secret - we've booked a gender scan for Saturday!

mrsmugoo · 05/01/2016 19:56

Oriana with clomid depending on which cycle days you take it you're less likely to release more than one egg. The risk would be negligible. Hope you can educate your DH it would be a shame for him to right off one entire course of medical action.

OrianaBanana · 05/01/2016 20:22

That's great news mrsmugoo.

And yes re Clomid if it turns out to be recommended I think there will be a lot of discussion and advice taken as I'd hate to not take it if it will make the difference. Smile

mascaraisamust · 05/01/2016 20:51

Yay Mrs, so exciting, let us know! I've also provisionally booked one Blush. DH doesn't know yet, a Valentine's Day surprise I thought (17 weeks), so in another 5 and a bit weeks. We aren't bothered either way but we are both just so impatient by nature that we want to know! He thought we could find out next week Hmm plus I'll get to see the little dot before the next scan Grin

Will you be glad to see the back of the pessaries!!

mascaraisamust · 06/01/2016 16:42

Friday should be my last day of them! Getting to the point where I delay using them/forget anyway now! But yes...

How exciting for you both with the gender scans, and what a nice Valentines treat for your DH Mascara.

My OPK is nearly positive tonight (it's an IC as I've ran out of the others so hard to be 100% sure, I hate using these!!) but hopefully will be a definite positive tomorrow, so thats a relief for me. A bit of later ovulation as today is CD13 and I usually ovulate CD12, but maybe that's the agnus castus working in some way.

Oriana and Mrsunsure, how are you both doing today? x

mascaraisamust · 06/01/2016 20:25

Ohh could be another few days before a positive too sunshine! Interesting...

mrsrose33 · 07/01/2016 10:04

Mascara, why have you been prescribed the pessaries out of interest? Sorry if I have missed it on a previous post.

So exciting about your scans - do either of you have any instincts on what gender you think the babies are?

I've been having some bizarre s*x dreams this week - night before last I had a very bizarre one involving Alfred Hitchcock! Was vaguely unpleasant! I'm assuming it's hormones and I'm not just a weirdo...lol

mrsmugoo · 07/01/2016 10:40

I think I'll be having another boy - I'll be shocked if it's a girl. Of course we have no preference really I'd be more than happy to have two boys and don't feel that need for "one of each".

OrianaBanana · 07/01/2016 11:58

sunshine thanks for asking, I'm in the same position as you really, CD 13 and an almost positive OPK (unusually early for me it's often CD 17+), so trying to coax DH into bd which is quite an operation Blush

Have my forms for the blood tests so I can leap into action next CDs 3 and 8 (assuming not BFP haha Hmm)

sunshinegirl12 · 07/01/2016 13:37

Haha MrsRose, you made me burst out laughing with your Alfred HItchcock comment! Grin

Oriana, it sounds as though your GP is being quite thorough with the bloods then as I was told I only need them on day 3 and 21. Hopefully we will get our fully positive OPKs later today. X

OrianaBanana · 07/01/2016 15:56

She said she wanted to be sure they had everything they need 'for the referral' - no idea who she's referring me to, I can't get a physical appt. only a phone one so it's usually quite hurried. I'll try and get one for when the bloods are done and results are on record.

The (rather brusque) nurse who did my day 21 blood test told me I didn't need day 8 bloods (despite the GP's instructions) and FSH and LH could both be done on day 3 so that's what happened the first time because that's the only form she would give me. But as I did those on the wrong day (as it turned out), when I requested the form again from the GP she gave me day 3 (FSH) and day 8 (LH) forms because she said that's what 'they'd' need. Confused

Fingers crossed for a positive OPK today sunshine Flowers

mascaraisamust · 07/01/2016 18:33

I had low progesterone and short LP mrsrose but it was more after the mc in Augusst when I blamed my low levels and that I wanted the reassurance of it they gave it and prescribed it

I think it's a boy. Obsessed with savoury stuff: cheese mainly! Gone off sweet completely. Only been sick a grand total of 3 times (though felt nauseous) and I have the old wives tale of dry hands! I'll be shocked it is a girl, though I have no preference either way. All my family and DH think its a girl. I'm the only one that's said boy so far.

Weird dreams defo a symptom!

Orianna I had them done on day 3. It's good to get as many tests done as you can as you can then just ask for them to be printed off and private clinics can have a good look! My print out was much more detailed than what they told me over the phone!

OP posts:
sunshinegirl12 · 07/01/2016 18:52

Mascara, I hadn't thought about that, so before I go to a private appointment I should book an appt with my normal GP to get all my results printed out? I'm so clueless!!

OPK is very close to positive this evening, I find it really hard to tell for definite on these IC's. It's CD14 so I might stop taking the agnus castus from tomorrow as was only planning on taking it up until ovulation.

OrianaBanana · 07/01/2016 20:57

Positive OPK today yay! So Ovia has revised its prediction and decided I am at the END of my fertile stage, oh dear. As it's unusually early this cycle, we really hadn't got out act together before yesterday. Blush

Hope it is happening sunshine! I'm too embarrassed to ask you about your CM. Smile

sunshinegirl12 · 07/01/2016 21:04

Oriana, surely Ovia should be showing you at your most fertile now as if you got your first positive OPK today then you're due to ovulate within the next 48 hours, its definitely not too late.

BlushI don't seem to have a lot of CM today but a couple of days ago had plenty of egg white CM, but nothing since. How about you? x

OrianaBanana · 08/01/2016 08:37

Yes most fertile but at the end of the fertile phase now whereas I thought it was just starting. Plenty of eggwhite CM for two days Blush so BD yesterday and the day before and I think that's all we'll manage. Ovulation presumably today? Confused

Then I just need to wait and see if my progesterone can cope (if it's worked at all) otherwise it'll be back to phlebotomist for me..

Are you temping sunshine? Sorry you've probably said before but I'm at work and can't have a good look around! x

sunshinegirl12 · 08/01/2016 10:49

No not temping this month as have been away too much with christmas. I think I've ovulated already as my breasts feel fuller which they usually do after I ovulate, we have DTD pretty much every night for the last week but might carry on a couple more times just in case. I wonder if we maybe DTD too often and would be better doing it every other day as I can't understand why nothings happened!! x

Sunshinegirl2015 · 08/01/2016 11:05

Mascara that's exciting valentines day news!

Sunshine we've tried months where we've DTD everyday and months where we've done every other day and it's made no difference so far.

I finally got my peak though today on clear blue OPKs. So happy as have been really exhausted and stressed this past week and my temps have been so up and down that FF has already thought I'd ovulated twice this cycle when I hadn't. And need to know when as I have the form to get my day 21 blood test (even though today is CD19 haha).

OrianaBanana · 08/01/2016 12:40

I don't know, I'm sure the more DTD you do the better! But I'm no doctor. Smile

mrsmugoo · 08/01/2016 14:21

My first pregnancy was a one off shag as my DH had been working away for basically an entire month. This time we only dtd twice in my window so yeah, more is better if you don't know your exact ovulation date but if you do know it and get that timing spot on, then once is all it takes!

Also wanted to note for whoever it was who'd just had their positive opk but ovia was telling them their fertile window was over - IGNORE THE APPS!

My first pregnancy was an accident because I was off the pill in preparation to start TTC and I was using fertility friend to give me my fertile window and just abstain from dtd in that period. Well as I wasn't tracking CM or temps (didn't even know they were a thing then!) FF was just spewing out "average" data for me and as we all know our cycles are all so different and that one drunken wedding anniversary shag turned into a baby. I had no idea I was pregnant because I just took my implantation bleed as being my period and the following month when I was "late" we hadn't had any sex even remotely close to what the app told me was my window so it didn't get picked up until the third missed period.
