I feel a bit of a fraud now I have a bfp but my stats are:

TTC#2 for 7 months (#1 took 1 month), had a very short luteal phase of 5 days in August which brought me here. Began taking selenium (heard that was good for building womb lining), baby asprin and vitabin B6 complex in August. Got a BFP a couple weeks ago.

Not sure if I really had a short luteal phase or if August was a fluke month or I just didnt ovulate for some reason. Its all a mystery!

Yes mascara I've definitely been a 'lurker' and it has helped me keep my chin up! I am now pregnant but only 5+2 so very early days.

I wouldn't take the baby aspirin alongside any other drugs but it's such a low dose I don't see that it can do much harm. Will be interesting to see what your consultant says. On the topic of exercise I think walking has to be the gentlest whilst still increasing cardiovascular fitness and improving blood flow but it can be difficult to fit it in, especially now it's so dark in the evenings!

So we are just back from our GP appointment. We said we've been trying 2 years so she has told me to book in for the day 3 and 21 blood tests, and given us a pot for DHs sample. She is also going to check bloods for other things eg thyroid, and wants me to have another smear and STI check, and will then book me in for an ultrasound.

We need the results from all this before we can be referred to the fertility specialist, once we get the referral she said the first step will be an appointment where they will check my tubes. She said in total about 8 weeks until we get to that stage.

It went better than I expected but it's a been bit of a reality check, I suppose we never thought it would come to this.

That's a great outcome! Make sure you book your day 21 bloods on 7dpo - this is super important!!
Day 21 assumes you ovulates day 14 of a perfect 28 day cycle.
If it's not done 7dpo the results are meaningless.

I rally wouldn't worry about exercise if you're used to it anyway. I exercised right through TTC and pregnancy. It was fine and I think it made the birth a bit easier. You need lots of stamina for that! I did Body Attack (with some modifications) until 37 weeks!

Interesting stuff ladies. Done my healthy food shop, feel somewhat motivated! I'll get my backside back to the gym then Confused

Private hospital got in touch after I enquired about price - £140 for follow up consultation, ultrasound scan done for free as a matter of routine and no charge for the prescription when given. It does says costs regarding a treatment plan (if one is required will be discussed). Feel a bit better now I know what sort of cost I am looking at, especially before xmas..

Lovely to see the grads keeping in touch Grin hope you are all well x

Good news sunshine!

I agree with doobee on the exercise front, I kept it up while ttc and still running now. I have slowed down, limited my runs to 5K, and every other day.

Of course, please stay Mrsunsure!

Well I've booked the next appointment for the start of November just before AF is due so hopefully I can get on the Clomid for the November cycle.

I think I'm pretty much out this month as I am away from DH for a week and due to ovulate cd19/20, I will see him cd20 so it'll be a bit hit and miss. At least I can chill out and enjoy the rest of October. It means November will be my last chance to get a BFP before xmas Shock otherwise my fertile period is over xmas eve, day, boxing day!

Ah Mascara, atleast you and DH will have a fun christmasWink but you never know you may still catch it this time on CD20.

If AF doesn't arrive this month for me, I'll planning to wait until I'm 14dpo to test on my birthday. x

mascaraisamust · 21/10/2015 17:45

Well we will just see what happens! Cd11 here so not much going on. Think we will try cd13-15 and cd20-22. If we catch it it'll be a miracle!

Fingers crossed for your birthday bfp!

CD 7 here, absolutely full of cold and feeling like sh*t. Needs to clear off by next week ;)

Before we conceived DD1 I got a referral for the blood tests from the Dr, the form said 'infertility' and it really made me sad...then I got my bfp that month and forgot al about it! Sunshine I'm hoping it works like that for you.

That's what happened to me the first time. I've eaten beautifully today, salad, lots of dark leafy greens and berries with nuts and seeds!

What do you do with coconut oil?! I bought it but I've never used it before!

Thanks herethereandeverywhere, I am trying to think of it as being out of my hands now. It is a bit of a relief though, we were planning to go in the new year and it was almost like a ticking clock counting down to when we reached that point. It's not nice hearing the word infertility is it,the GP even apologised to us for having to call it that. x
