Iamabear, sorry to hear that you have been told you will need IVF but hopefully the preseed will work some magic for you so it doesn't come to that.Flowers

I think we were having our initial bloods and STI check around the same time, yet I'm still waiting for my scan appointment, although we have been dealing with the 'fertility specialist' at our GPs who keeps trying to put us off going private as she reckons it won't be any quicker for usConfused Getting fed up of waiting now esp as if I don't get my referral before March apparently I have to re-do the STI check!!

Do you know what will happen at your hospital appointment? x

mascaraisamust · 10/01/2016 16:53

Iambear, sorry to hear you are having to go down the IVF route, however I am sure you will achieve your little bundle of joy no matter what route you go down. Has your DH taken preconception vitamins? Read some good stuff about increased mobility/mortality on the pregnacare his and hers. They take time to get in your system (three months I think) but my DH didn't mind taking them. I totally agree with your seeking help advice, i started at 6 months and by 8 months I started getting answers. Best of luck to you, keep us updated and it still might happen.

Hi sunshinegirl12, thanks, yes I have everything crossed, I have to believe we have a chance naturally for my own sanity!

Yes that's right! We did! You're still waiting for your scan?! That seems to have been ages, I'd chase it up if I were you. I hadn't heard that about the STI check... it's weird... the GPs know we're in long term relationships/married, but then asking for a repeat of the STI check it sounds like they assume we don't have the same partner for more than a couple of months!

What's the GP waiting for before referring?

Not sure what the appointment will involve yet, it's confusing, on one hand they say it's a gynaecological appointment, and on the other they're saying my DH should be there. Hopefully the confirmation letter will explain more.

mascaraisamust · 10/01/2016 16:55

And congrats Mrs! One of each Grin

Thanks mascara Smile.
Ok, thanks for the recommendation, will try those vitamins. Got to be worth a shot!

sunshinegirl12 · 10/01/2016 17:26

Iamabear, it's horrible really as its as if they think we are sleeping with other people, it just seems a waste of NHS time and money. I didn't realise it only lasted 3 months until the nurse doing the test asked when my fertility appt was, when I said I didn't have a date yet she seemed sceptical that my results would still be valid by the time I get an appt.

DH has offered to chase it up tomorrow for us, he is going out of his way to make sure that I avoid anything that will cause me any extra stress, he thinks that is a contributing factor to us having no success yet. I am making a conscious effort not to get worked up about things and distract my mind when I start stressing.Hmm

Agree with Mascara re the recommendation of Pregnacare for your DH, have also read lots of people with issues saying they have helped. x

I picked a really long and active thread to join didn't I?! I've been trying to catch up and work out who everyone is but it is quite difficult ! Thanks to anyone who has offered me encouragement. I was really, really depressed yesterday and to a lesser extent today. Unfortunately as predicted the witch got me today. So that means I had a 12 day LP but with spotting on 10 and 11 dpo. This is worse than before so I'm trying to rack my brains to figure out why this is the case as I'm taking the same dose of cyclogest.
I just wanted to ask what supplement y'all are taking?
I'm taking a pre-conception vitamin, CoQ10, evening primrose, iron and extra folic acid. You don't think any of them could mess with my LP? I wasn't taking all these last time. Thanks x

sunshinegirl12 · 10/01/2016 20:16

MrsBadger, I'm not sure but one of the ladies (Mrsrose I think?) mentioned they were getting earlier spotting while taking Pregnacare, I haven't had any problems with it but suppose conception vitamins can affect us all in different ways. Sorry to hear the witch got you. x

Mrsbadger77 · 10/01/2016 20:41

Thanks sunshinegirl but I'm pretty sure that one is ok as that is one that I had been taking previously. I was more wondering about the EPO as I took it for the first time last cycle. I'm not sure whether to take it this time or not as it gives some fantastic EWCM! It's just mind boggling when you google all these supplements.

mascaraisamust · 10/01/2016 21:29

Mrsbadger I knocked them all on the head and went back to just folic and vitamin d (had a deficiency I had no idea about). I think too much of this and that can mess up yor cycles too much.

mascaraisamust · 10/01/2016 21:30

And I was also on cyclogest taken 3 days after ovulation. Spotted 11dpo which was implantation.

iamabear · 10/01/2016 21:49

I tried vitamin b complex and 1000mg evening primose oil for a few months but noticed no difference whatsoever!
Just on folic acid and a cheapie muli-vit for now.

sunshinegirl12 · 10/01/2016 22:06

I'm taking pregnacare, vitamin c, D3, probiotic and agnus castus up to ovulation.

Hello ladies :)

Wow, so much has happened on here since I last checked in!
Hello and welcome to the new faces :) Way too much to read through properly but I had a skim read.

Congrats Mrsmagoo on your news that you're having a girl :) So lovely!

Mascara - I started using Cyclogest pessaries last Friday – I was prescribed it before I discovered I was pregnant to help with my thin lining. I didn’t use it after I got my bfp as I wasn’t spotting but rang my gynaecologist to ask her if I should be doing anything differently because of my lining (even though it seems it wasn’t an issue as I implanted ok). She told me I should be using them twice a day until week 12! So far I don’t like how messy they are! I have a very early scan on Wednesday evening when I will be 6 and a half weeks so I really hope everything is as it should be then…

MrsBadger sorry to hear about your spotting issues. I have mentioned on here previously (I think Sunshine12 mentioned it yesterday) but I also had spotting issues for months from when I came off the pill last May. If you’re taking Pregnacare I suggest doing an experiment and switch to Boots own brand or similar, because as soon as I did that I stopped spotting excessively in the run up to my period, and only spotted for one day (the day before my period) the month I switched. The next month I somehow managed to conceive! Of course not everyone has an issue with Pregnacare and it may not be the culprit for you (you might not even be taking it!) but I really didn’t get on with it. And from Googling it there are plenty of other women who found the same issue. The one thing it did do was lengthen my luteal phase to 15 days but I think this was false and didn’t really help matters. With an LP of 11 days I managed to conceive so there is hope for everyone :)

Iamabear – sorry to hear that you are going to have to go through IVF. However, as a word of encouragement I know so many people who have successfully conceived that way (my sister being one of them) so, as difficult as the months ahead might be, don’t give up hope :)

Sunshine12 – when are you due to start using the monitor?

mrsmugoo · 11/01/2016 16:51

Mrsrose - you can use the ahem, back entrance for cyclogest and they're mess free. That's what I did, every time. The official leaflet states this is fine.

sunshinegirl12 · 11/01/2016 17:32

Mrsrose, good to hear you have the pessaries and fx for you on Weds evening.

I'm not going to be able to use the monitor for a couple more cycles, we are going away at the end of the month the day before I'm due to ovulate and the holiday will overlap with the start of the following cycle too. We are going to be travelling about quite a bit while we are away so not going to take any OPKs etc with me and just use it as a chance to switch off from it all. But atleast it'll give me a bit of hope if still no BFP by the time I'm home.

I'm still feeling horribly bloated with sore boobs, I do wonder if the agnus castus has increased my progesterone to make me feel like thisConfused

mascaraisamust · 11/01/2016 18:42

Last progesterone tonight Grin Mrs, it'll be worth it! Scan tomorrow, so scared...

Mrsunsure, I just said I have a short LP, low pg results and mc and I would like to be considered for progesterone or other relevant courses of action. Could they help and if so can I be booked in for a consultation? Only one clinic said it sounded like something they could help with!

Also out of interest, is anyone in the Midlands area? Heard on the radio a fertility clinic having an open day and offering free ten min consultations?! Worth it if you near the area!

Brief update, 3 dpo here so just waiting; unusually, lots of sticky discharge Blush #SymptomWatch

sunshinegirl12 · 11/01/2016 20:13

Oriana, I'm 4dpo so we're pretty close, when are you due AF? x

OrianaBanana · 11/01/2016 20:27

Probably due to start spotting in 5/6 days sunshine then AF shortly after so maybe a week today - you? That's my usual LP anyway, but my last cycle was very weird. It's great to have your company GrinFlowers

sunshinegirl12 · 11/01/2016 20:33

Next tuesday I think, assuming my LP phase is 11 days again this cycle x
