It drives me nuts that GPs don't realise that not everyone has lovely 28 day cycles with a 14 day lp. It's really unhelpful. Yes, 7 days after you ovulate will be perfect for the 21 day tests.

Sunshine I found evening primrose oil really helped with my cm the month I conceived. I took two capsules a day, one in the morning then one in the evening only until I ovulated (as it's not good to take if you end up pregnant). Before that I found I didn't notice ewcm at all.

Mascara where did you go for a £35 early scan?? I had already decided I wanted to get one to help me relax but thought I'd have to pay hundreds!

FuzzyOwl · 31/12/2015 14:27

I am another believer in evening primrose oil.

Try googling private pregnancy scans nearby mrsrose or looking at BabyBond and see if there is one nearby. They do a cheap reassurance scan as well as the more detailed ones. Also, sometimes, Groupon can have offers.

sunshinegirl12 · 31/12/2015 15:36

Sunshine, good that you are having the bloods and SA, I'm still waiting for my internal scan referral but will chase it up next week. Agnus castus has really helped so far but if this month I don't notice a difference I might try evening primrose oil. Am away at the mo but hopefully when I get home my fertility monitor has arrived ready for next cycle. Do they have any idea what the fluid could be?

Here's hoping 2016 is good for us all xxx

Sunshinegirl2015 · 31/12/2015 16:21

They're not sure what fluid is. It could be a sign of endometriosis which my mum had. My GP says it's not hereditary and sonographer said it is. Baffles me how they don't know this stuff yet.

Apparently it's quite an invasive test to see if I have it so they're going to do these other tests first.

I've been taking EPO for a few months now about 2,000mg a day up to ovulation. It has helped my cycles I feel but I've not noticed much CF and I eat grapefruit, drink grapefruit juice and green tea etc. Need to give preeseed a go.

sunshinegirl12 · 31/12/2015 16:23

Sunshine, thats frustrating that you've been told different things, surely they should know either way.

mascaraisamust · 31/12/2015 17:48

Gosh it's so annoying! The times I've had to explain my luteal phase and battle my point. Ladies glad to hear your are having investigations and Sunshine your are right to have the test then. I googled private scan and it came up, was really good quality and didn't rush, explained everything.

2016 will be your year ladies!

SharyBobbins · 31/12/2015 23:35

My reassurance scan is in two weeks and is £65.

So frustrating to hear how contradictory the advice of medical professionals is, I'm aghast that some still believe every woman's cycle is 28 days!!

I'm 7 weeks today & no dramatic symptoms, occasionally feel queasy & crampy. Boobs are massively sore though they woke me up last night feeling so heavy!

Best wishes to you all for the new year. I'm going to continue to lurk if that's okay! Hope to see more BFPs here soon! Xx

mrsmugoo · 01/01/2016 07:59

Happy new year to you all - 2016 is your year!!

mascaraisamust · 01/01/2016 09:10

Gosh Shary that has flown by. Sounds good, don't worry about sickness/nausea. Your scan must be dates near mine. We are only 4 weeks apart.

Happy new year all, wishing a great 2016 to us all x

I'm just getting really anxious waiting for that first scan Mascara Blush
7+1 when going off my ovulation date, 8+2 if going off LMP. I'm totally ignoring the LMP date as my cycles were not standard 28 day ones at all! My scan is booked using this date though- they wouldn't let me go off the conception date!

mrsrose33 · 01/01/2016 15:23

Happy New Year ladies :)

Sunshine2015 I have endometriosis, but I don't think it was fluid that my surgeon spotted on the internal ultrasound, but adhesions/scar tissue. There are different theories about endometriosis that I've heard regarding why women get it. I believe it is genetic as my sister has it too and I'm pretty sure my grandma had it, along with fibroids. You need to get yourself referred to a private gynaecologist by your GP. You need a specialist's opinion. If you haven't already of course :) x

mascaraisamust · 02/01/2016 10:39

Shary I ignored my lmp date too, the early scan confirmed I was right. Keep busy and hopefully the time will fly (says me who is counting down the days to my next scan too).

Mrsrose how are you getting on? Fuzzy any updates?

OP posts:
Sunshinegirl2015 · 02/01/2016 18:42

I'm on it mrsrose! I've been told I should see a gynaecologist by GP but she wants to do the blood tests first.

Just bought some clear blue ovulation tests (so expensive) so that I know exactly when to go in for my day 21 bloods.

Also bought balance activ conceive lube. Again, so expensive! Has anyone heard of or tried it? It's about £15 for 6days worth in boots.

Happy new year everyone x

mascaraisamust · 02/01/2016 19:05

Never heard of it sunshine, worth a go though. I think the CB ovulation tests are the best, helped me pinpoint ovulation much clearer than the cheapie. Remember to keep going for 3 days after the positive though!

OP posts:
mrsmugoo · 02/01/2016 19:18

Yes I also swear by CB digi ovulation tests but I tempted as well so I knew how long after my smiley face I actually ovulated and it tended to be about 36 hours.

sunshinegirl12 · 02/01/2016 19:33

I've used the clear blue digi ovulation tests too Sunshine, they are really easy to use. Going to try the fertility monitor next month though. Am due to ovulate this weekend but as we are on hol with family I haven't been using OPKs and its been fairly hard to DTD as much as we normally would but I've been having a good break eating and drinking everything I probably shouldn't. Health kick starts Monday.Smile

mascaraisamust · 02/01/2016 23:29

I used the dual hormone one which was even better!

Sunshine a fertility monitor was on my wish list x

Sunshinegirl2015 · 03/01/2016 15:29

I've used the opks before but as I temp don't use them much anymore but I've just started working a new job and have to get up at 3am Sad so my temps have been a little off as used to take them at 06:15 for the last 8months so wanted to make sure I don't miss the big O!

Have been thinking of getting the monitor. And I'm back on the healthy kick too! Too much indulging over Christmas.

CD13 for me usually ovulate CD18/21 or 25 so still a while to go yet but I'll let you know how the lube goes. Hopefully I have longer than a 9day LP this cycle.

Sunshine12 I can't wait for you to start using the monitor - I'm convinced it's why I managed to conceive this time.

Sunshine2015 you should definitely try the monitor too, you can get them so cheap on Ebay. Also really hope you get some answers from a gynaecologist!

I'm getting on ok thanks mascara :) Had nausea ALL DAY yesterday so it was probably my worst day so far, and I had to socialise with the in laws! Have nausea this evening and quite noticeable cramps. I'm 5 weeks today :) I hav found a BabyBond locally to me which I'm so excited about - if I get to 6 weeks I'm going to book in an early scan for approx 8 weeks. It's £99 but I think it's well worth it for peace of mind!

Back to work tomorrow :(

Sorry about the duplicate message - my computer freaked out again.

mascaraisamust · 04/01/2016 09:02

Mrs I agree, I'd would have paid anything for the reassurance. If you can try to wait until 8 and a bit (so nearer 9) weeks, you see a lot more and I found those couple more days reassuring as I don't then have a huge wait between that and my 12 week scan. Also the chances of mc reduced dramatically at 8 weeks. Nausea, excellent. Hope you are managing to eat ok.

I've felt ok which is freaking me out. DH is better at symptom spotting than I am as he says I've barely eaten in two day (he applauded me when I ate all my dinner last night) and nausea between 11am-1pm strangely. But apart from that!

Sunshine good luck with the opks! Maybe you'll get a flashing smiley in the next few days x

Oh yes, Mascara, I'm not planning on having a scan earlier than 8 weeks - I just wanted to wait until I'm about 6 weeks before I book it. Don't want to miss a slot for if I get to 8 weeks (fingers crossed!). Mild cramps and queasiness seem to be the only symptoms at the moment. I have quite a stuffy nose too but that could just be a cold or reaction to my flu jab last week I guess. How many weeks are you now?

Hi Mrsunsure - I'm really sorry but I haven't used Progesterone. I got my bfp before I got my prescribed pessaries! However I did find my spotting stopped when I stopped taking Pregnacare - are you taking those at all? How long do you tend to spot for?

sunshinegirl12 · 04/01/2016 12:43

Hi Mrsunure, I know what you mean, I feel like I will never have a baby either, I just don't know why it hasn't happened yet. I know you said you tried agnus castus before but stopped as it gave you bad skin, it did for me too at first but I changed brand and now it seems ok.

I'm trying to stay positive but first day back in work and another pregnancy announcement - a happy accident apparently. x
