5 CHEMICAL PREGNANCIES

Just had my 5th 'chemical pregnancy' in a row. Can't quite believe it now, it's just becoming the norm for me. I can't ever imagining seeing that little line get progressively darker the way it should. I'm testing positive 9-10dpo each time and each time the line gets stronger for a 3-6 days days then all of sudden my symptoms stop and the line fades away. I went to the doctors and she said it's a 'good sign' my bodies rejecting bad cells and that I'm getting pregnant so easily in the first place, but whats the point if I can't hold them?? I'd rather not get pregnant at all… my body and my hormones are in a total mess and this is starting to affect my relationship. Whats stopping my little one's from hanging on? They can't all be bad cells, something must be stopping them. I just don't know what to do. I'm on all the best vitamins and I even tried baby aspirin this time round. I just don't know what to do anymore...

Kane thank you xxx I'm glad your NK results came back normal, that is something I'm worried about but I've still heard of staories where ones got through the net in the end. Feeling a little more positive today, the strange thing is is although the line this time is the darkest it's been I'm not getting the symptoms I had with all the other chemicals. I started taking a single baby aspirin daily 3 days ago when I first saw the line and I've been on full on pregnancare / folic acid tablets for about 7 months now… apart from the progesterone I don't know what else I can do but hope and stay relaxed :) Keep me posted on you and I'mm keep everything crossed for us both, we will get our little ones! xxx

Kaytee1987 · 06/11/2015 12:29

Good luck coco, hope your bean is sticking on in there xx

cocothomas1234 · 07/11/2015 20:35

Thought I'd try a first response today, was convinced it would be another faded or non existent line but I couldn't believe a super strong little line came up within seconds!! 12dpo! Took a clear blue digital out of interest and it came up at 2-3 weeks! Can't believe I've finally got a strong sticky bean, it's still early days but I'm letting myself get a tiny bit excited. I'll keep you all posted ladies! Baby dust to you all! xxx

Aww wow that is brilliant!! Am so happy for you and it really gives me some hope maybe my next one might work out ...congrats!! Xx

Andcake · 08/11/2015 10:45

Testing v early is unwise but if I was you I'd run to Holland and Barrett and get some b complex at least 50 mg of b6. I had a few mc and certain thus kept my hormone levels up enough to sustain ds

Andcake · 08/11/2015 10:47

Also darkness of line has bugger all to do with little bean it's how dilute your wee is....

Vap0 · 08/11/2015 11:05

Congratulations coco just read through this post. I hope it sticks this time. Just have a question.. What does the baby aspirin do?
Also andcake what does b6 do? Dp has some in the cupboard

kanelindsey · 08/11/2015 11:17

Coco i ment to ask did you do anything different this cycle?? Xx

cocothomas1234 · 08/11/2015 12:15

Andcake there actually is a difference between an incredibly faint line you can only see at certain angles and one which is darker than the control line - these are the differences I'm talking about, if you're testing every 5 minutes obviously not but it can be a good marker in most cases if done every 2-3 days, hence why if you google 'pregnancy test progression' and look at images you can see the tests get progressively darker until they reach their limit rather than being all over the place.

Vap0 - Baby Aspirin (misleading name - its just low dose 75mg of Aspirin) is sometimes recommended at fertility clinics after a number of losses to thin the blood slightly and improve blood flow to the uterus, possibly helping the baby. My doc said trying this the first couple of weeks then tapering off wouldn't hurt so I've given it a shot :)

Kane - I did do one thing different this cycle, I don't know if this has anything to do with it but I've been really tired and edgy lately, the same feeling I had a couple of years ago- I went to the docs back then and a blood test came back that I was super low in Vit D so they put me on supplements and I felt so much better super fast as my levels went back up. During my last period I ordered some HealthSpan vit D tabs and have taken them daily since, I've felt a lot calmer and had heaps more energy.

It's still really early day for me girls and I'm really scared this one's going to leave me again but it seems strong and I'm having crazy hot flashes and nightmares now like I had with my DD so it's giving me hope :) I don't know if any of the above helped me or if it this was just a lucky cycle, but I feel calmer and more relaxed this time round than I have in the past - I'm brisk walking my dog and DD daily, eating well, munching pregnacare vits, vit D & magnesium tabs and my baby aspirin and so far for me things are looking good, keeping my fingers crossed for you all, please keep me updated and I will to. Lots of hugs your way xxx

Kane these are the tabs I took just incase you want to give them a shot, we don't get as much sunlight this time of year so taking these for a couple of weeks might give your natural stores a nudge. They should be taken and work together. These are 2 of the most important minerals in our body but it's thought over 30-50% of the population are deficient. I can't even begin with how these help your body function etc. Here if you need it Smile xxx

Andcake luckily I've been on Pregnacare tablets for the past 10 months, as standard these contain 10mg of B6, recommended daily intake is only about 1mg so hopefully I'm fully stocked up on this, it's absorbed more easily and is more abundant in foods than Vit D so this with a healthy diet should be enough xxx

Thanks coco i live in northern ireland so we dont get much sun!! Have been taking vitamin d as well so hopefully it works for me too....am sure u are terrified but that is one great looking test....all my chemicals stayed light so that looks great!! Xx

Andcake · 08/11/2015 14:39

I totally believe b6 50 mg upped my progesterone enough for ds to stick around - for the 3 years of trying and mc had been on pregnecare after 6 weeks on b6 I was 3 weeks pregnant and took it throughout. I think I had a short lutuel phase and had previously had spotting prior to af.

cocothomas1234 · 08/11/2015 18:11

Thanks Andake, that sounds really good, I'm not far from a H&B so I'll pop in tmro. Thank you xx

This sounds a bit like me. A run of early mc then now I have one that had stuck (so far now almost 7 weeks). I had two later mc also before my DD. I am thinking I'm super fertile maybe so body fertilises an egg that's not 100%, abit like your gp said. I'm on asprin progesterone and regular scans at Epau. Did daily sticks until 6 weeks and eventually line was darker than control. Like you I got used to seeing the line fade. Hope all is going well and your bean is sticking x

cocothomas1234 · 09/11/2015 10:36

Hi Cotton, so sorry for your losses, I'm so pleased your little ones going strong :) Yes, we have fallen every single cycle since trying, I think you're right and maybe we are just over fertile. My fertility appt was booked for January, I'm guessing like many women they may have put me on baby Aspirin so I put myself on it this time, can I just ask how long they've recommended you be on it for and at what dosage? xxx

OP posts:
CottonSock · 09/11/2015 16:13

Asprin is 75 mg a day and stay on for whole pregnancy. Progesterone is 400 mg twice a day until 12 weeks.

cocothomas1234 · 09/11/2015 16:48

thank you x

Can i ask if any of you ladies with very early recurrent losses have noticed any change in ur menstural flow.....mine has been super light ever since my first chemical pregnancy in december and im convinced it has something do do with it....scans all show lining less than 7mm yet doctors are not keen to prescribe anything to thicken it. I guess my question is have you also been having light periods or is it just me Sad xx
