When to expect period - Provera

EllaMenoPea · 06/10/2015 09:42

As above really. I finished 5 days of Provera on Saturday to induce a bleed to start Clomid. When should I expect a period? Just wondering if anyone has any experiences. Google is telling me lots of different times. Getting impatient Blush

Moomin sharing that will totally out me if any friends are reading this, but it was too good a story not to tell. I'm an extrovert, so I don't really give a crap, but DH was mortified on my behalf and terrified it would happen to him when he went to ask about SA! I hear you about calorie counting, HA is a headfuck.

Also I love 'blurkers'. Please, join in!

Moomin37 · 26/04/2016 21:41

Ha yes outing oneself... I've not told anyone IRL about our struggles but if I ever did I do worry that I would be easy to trace on here!

Well I'm in the mood for new lingo this evening, so hot on the heels of the blurkers, I have invented the birony which is barren irony, inspired by my decision to waste time until 10pm when I take the HCG trigger shot by watching... One Born Every Minute Confused

Name: EllaMenoPea
Age: 28
DC: 1 DD (conceived via Clomid first round)
TTC: #2 since September 2014 currently on round 4 of Clomid
Diagnosis: PCO (not the S as I'm not overweight, no excess hair etc)
Investigations: Blood tests, HsoSY, lap & dye
Treatment: Clomid
Next milestone: Hopefully a BFP on Thursday!
Location: Southeast (waves at robber)
Most amusing moment as a barren:
Nothing compared to robbers! Probably would have to be the GP asking if "are you having intercourse vaginally as opposed to anally as you won't get pg anally" no way, thanks Doc.

Lol @ blingo!

I'm very relieved to confirm the Ovitrelle is in my system and I'm all ready to start on the bloody fanjo bullets tomorrow Confused

That's my excitement for the week over with. It's over to the lovely and youthful Ella Smile

AmyC86 · 26/04/2016 22:44

You've helped my decision tonight ladies. I'll just stick to the 2-6 days. My AF hasn't got any heavier and I'm wondering if it will due to it being a forced bleed from norethisterone.

Name: Amy
Age: 29 (soon 30)
DC: none (although 2 border collies
TTC: since January 2011, but took 12 months out due to getting married.
Diagnosis: PCOS. This is a new diagnosis when investigations where started in 2011 there wasn't any mention of PCOS and tests came back inconclusive.
Investigations: blood tests a plenty, lap and dye, lots of ultrasounds
Treatment: clomid
Next Milestone: first cycle of clomid to start in about half an hour!
Location: Northwest
Don't understand the embarrassing moment bit ha!

Moomin37 · 27/04/2016 06:13

Yay for the Clomid Amy Smile I've only taken Provera once (soo glad I did admit meant I found Ella and Boggle on this thread) and the resulting AF was a bit blink and you miss it, so you're right to just crack on!

Anyone seen Boggle?

AmyC86 · 27/04/2016 08:22

Yes, this is the same. I'm using the lightest tampon, and it's a total waste of money tbh lol xx fingers crossed for the next few weeks of clomid and DTD!

RobberBride · 27/04/2016 22:07

Ella how are you feeling? Have you cracked and tested yet?

Amy on Norethisterone after 4 days I had 4 days of a very light AF, like the trail end of a period rather than a proper period. So I think that's pretty normal. Are you all set for the scheduled sex?

Moomin what happens now, do they keep scanning you every few days? Do you have a blood test to confirm ovulation? I presume you now start dtd every two/three days, or do you do that throughout the whole cycle?

Eskimo how did your scan go?

Boggle hope you managed to track down some kind of policy!

Moomin37 · 28/04/2016 06:05

Hey Robber there aren't any scans or blood tests now. They tell you to DTD the day of the Ovitrelle trigger shot and the day afterwards and then it's fanjo bullets (Cyclogest) twice a day. While doing the injections they advise to DTD every three days. Test day is two weeks today. I guess they assume the HCG is very effective so no need to check for ovulation (I had some pains in my rich ovary yesterday).

Eskimo I have been thinking of you Thanks

EllaMenoPea · 28/04/2016 08:29

I'm trying to hold out till the weekend!

Hope eskimo and boggle are well?

How you feeling moomin? When's test day?

Have you got a date for injectables yet robber?

Hope Clomid is going well for you amy!

OP posts:
AmyC86 · 28/04/2016 10:05

Yes robber that's how mines been, although this morning there's been an increase in the flow of it x but I've had no cramps or anything.

According to Ovia, if this is a proper cycle due to clomid I should ovulate between the 9th and 15th of May (coincidentally DH and I are off from work for some R&R or DTD which I'll be planning in between every 12 to 18 hours Grin

Im not sure if someone mentioned it on this thread or another thread a few weeks ago but someone started to DTD 2 days post the end of AF. Then did it every other day until ovulation, thenot every day on ovulation she got pregnant first time though!

Just wanted some advice regarding temping. I started temping on cd#2 days 2 and 3 I recorded at 36.12 and 36.10 respectively. Todays recording was 36.35 so an increase of .25 since yesterday. Obviously it's not mega amounts but my graph does show a rather large surge.

I should also have a folicale ultrasound booked in for Monday 9th xx

AmyC86 · 28/04/2016 10:14

ella I've been taking the clomid at night as suggested on here by lovely ladies xx apart from horrendous night sweats (the first onight I woke up and thought that I'd been in the shower and got back in bed) I've not really had and other side effects (as yet, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed)

Moomin37 · 28/04/2016 19:24

Feeling OK thanks Ella - usual bloating, stomach pains and tiredness from the fanjo bullets - oh and the excess wax Blush

Not long to go for you Smile

YouBoggleMyMind · 28/04/2016 23:03

Hi wonderful ladies, I am here! I just keep forgetting I have this on my phone! Job is good and starting to feel settled.

I can start a new cycle in two weeks once I'm back from Menorca. Can't wait to be honest! Started weight watchers again and being going to Zumba this last couple of weeks so hoping to get rid of some fat on the lead up to something exciting happening soon!

Here's my official introduction:

Name: youbogglemymind (boggle for short)
Age: 28
Location: Home Counties
Ttc #1 since July 2014
Diagnosis: pcos
Treatment so far: 3 rounds of clomid (50, 100, 150) with provera to induce AF. Now taking metformin too and starting round 4 of clomid in a couple of weeks.

Xxx

EllaMenoPea · 29/04/2016 07:28

Glad you're still here boggle!

BFN for me this morning SadI'm sort of trying to be OK with it and telling myself that it will be good to have another month in a new job before being pg anyway....

Tell me more about injectables...is it worth me asking my clinic for?

If I've had 4 failed Clomid rounds this time I can't imagine round 4 or 6 being my round either.

OP posts:
YouBoggleMyMind · 29/04/2016 08:16

Are you going to test again tomorrow ella? Today is a day early right? I'm sorry it's not the news you wanted this morning.

Xxx

YouBoggleMyMind · 29/04/2016 17:14

One of my best friends has messaged me to tell me she is pregnant... Thrilled and sad at the same time.

Moomin37 · 29/04/2016 18:37

Try again tomorrow Ella and remember all those posts from people who didn't get a BFP until ages after most women do Flowers I assume injectables are more 'potent' than Clomid, but that's just a guess. By far the worst bit is the progesterone pessaries (bloating, stomach pains and just being crazy in the coconut and very irritable).

I know the feeling Boggle Flowers

I'm really worried about Eskimo Sad

RobberBride · 29/04/2016 20:42

Evening all

I'm worried about Eskimo too, I went looking for her on some other threads I've seen her on before but couldn't find her. Hoping she's just having a busy week at work or a holiday.

Ella as the others say, try again in the morning and Sunday morning. You're not out til AF arrives! I think they only do injectables for women who don't ovulate on clomid (like me) or to prep women for IVF. I think 50mg clomid makes you ovulate, yes? Has your DH had SA? If there's no MFI, and you're ovulating with clomid, it could just be bad luck so far. If you don't want to go for IVF (because £££!), you could ask the clinic about IUI?

Moomin hope the bullets aren't too awful! Are you symptom spotting? Hope you're doing ok this round?

Boggle lovely to see you. Did you get anywhere with the mat policy search?

Amy sorry I can't help - I don't temp. I know I should...

AFM, as you'll have seen from my recent post, my doctors are sweet but incompetent, and the clinic people aren't much better. They won't directly communicate with each other, only via me or at a push via snail mail, and they both take paper notes which they never bloody transfer onto the computer. So in the last three weeks I've had: lost blood test results, lost confirmation of appointment, trying to give me the diabetes prescription for the little old lady who has the same name as me at the same doctors but lives in an entirely different road, trying to give me blood test results for same little old lady (god knows what she did with my progesterone results), sending my norethisterone prescription to the wrong pharmacy (I presume the one preferred by little old lady!), until today I phoned them both again, calmly told them they were crap, and organised an appointment for next Wednesday at the clinic. DH and I need to take our passports - is this normal?? I love the NHS but sometimes...

YouBoggleMyMind · 29/04/2016 22:38

No policy noted down that I can see so guessing it's statutory.

Is anyone able to message eskimo directly? Xxx

RobberBride · 29/04/2016 22:42

Great minds Boggle, I just PMed her.

Sorry about the policy - maybe it is at their discretion? Also I hear you on the friend pregnancy thing. I went for dinner with a friend who has never wanted children, though her DH does. She knew about my woes. I got there and she was drinking coke, which I stared at in disbelief, and she confessed she got pregnant her first month off the pill. I'm thrilled for her, she seems very happy, but when I got home the happiness wore off and I had a little cry.
