When to expect period - Provera

EllaMenoPea · 06/10/2015 09:42

As above really. I finished 5 days of Provera on Saturday to induce a bleed to start Clomid. When should I expect a period? Just wondering if anyone has any experiences. Google is telling me lots of different times. Getting impatient Blush

Hi ladies, just checking in. First week is going ok! No stress or drama at new job which is amazing!

Got my Valium for holiday in a few weeks. Can stop worrying about that now and look forward to going away!

20 weeks has gone by so fast eskimo! Please send a pic!

Sorry to hear your news robber. I hope you get some answers and can move forward soon.

RobberBride · 21/04/2016 22:52

Moomin great news about the follie. What can they do to thicken the lining?

Boggle hurray for the new job. What does the maternity leave policy say?

Amy to warn you, the preseed comes with a bizarre applicator, like a cross between a tampon and a syringe. I was scared to use it!

Thanks Ella and everyone for your lovely messages. Sorry for the rant last night, DH was at a work do so I was home without anyone to vent to. I'm feeling much more positive today - onwards to the injectables, which I'm due to start at end of May. I couldn't get through to the clinic today to ask about the unexplained bleeding, I'll try again in the morning. Thank you all Flowers

Moomin37 · 24/04/2016 20:45

Glad to hear the first week went well Boggle Smile

You're halfway through Ella - hang on in there Thanks

Amy we use Conceive Plus which is similar to Preseed. It does the job, although hasn't resulted in an instant BFP just like in the reviews on Amazon Wink

Great to hear from you Eskimo and I hope your tooth troubles are sorted soon. Will be thinking about you tomorrow x.

AFM I'm back in for a scan tomorrow. Still had an 11mm on Friday but a better lining and good initial estradiol result. Just hope follie has been growing this weekend - I've tried to take it easy this weekend and done lots of sitting about 'relaxing' Hmm

RobberBride · 24/04/2016 22:18

Good luck tomorrow Moomin, let us know how you get on.

AmyC86 · 24/04/2016 22:56

Thanks for the tips ladies. I'm still waiting for AF to show following the norethisterone! Been waiting 3 days, how many am I to expect?

EllaMenoPea · 24/04/2016 23:35

Good luck for tomorrow eskimo and moomin ThanksThanks

Sorry amy I'm not sure...hopefully turn up soon for you though.

Thanks moomin. Convinced it hasn't worked!

I don't think my company has a maternity policy. It's pretty small. I also don't want to ask as I've only been there a week!

How is everyone one? Nice weekend?
I took my nieces to a lambing day at a local farm today, it was good fun!

AmyC86 · 25/04/2016 06:51

AF is here! But now for the next dilemma. Day 21 for bloods is on a Sunday :-(

EllaMenoPea · 25/04/2016 08:20

amy yay for AF, try not to worry about them falling on a Sunday, give your clinic a call today and see what they say. They may say the Monday is still OK or still do you over the weekend. Thanks

Hi boggle, weekend sounds lovely! When will you start Provera again??

OP posts:
EllaMenoPea · 25/04/2016 15:31

Think AF is on her stupid way. Arghh. Onwards and Upwards.

Hope everyone else's Monday's are better?

Moomin37 · 25/04/2016 18:46

Oh Ella what makes you say that? Still crossing my fingers for you Thanks

EllaMenoPea · 25/04/2016 18:57

Period pains...Sad

Thanks moomin Thanks not feeling too hopeful though. I'm so sick of feeling hopeful each month.

How was your scan??

OP posts:
Moomin37 · 25/04/2016 19:29

I'm sure period type pains are also an early sign of pregnancy, so hang on in there Ella Thanks Sending positive thoughts your way Smile

My scan went well thanks - I've managed to grow a 9mm lining - must be a record for me (all the boring sitting about 'relaxing' seems to have done the trick). My follie has been busy growing too and is now 16mm so final injection tonight and trigger shot tomorrow. OTD is Tuesday 10th May...

Hope everyone else is OK.

EllaMenoPea · 25/04/2016 19:37

moomin that's amazing news!!

Aww thanks Ella Smilebut I want you to have some amazing news Thanks

RobberBride · 25/04/2016 22:00

Moomin!! That's such good news. How many days were you stabbing this time, not nearly as many I think? Good luck!

Ella I'm with Moomin, it ain't over yet! Only 5 days til OTD.

Boggle I guess you don't have an intranet you can sneakily search? Do you have an HR person? If so you could just say 'can I just check I've seen all employee policies? I didn't receive any in the post' or similar?

Amy my clinic says it doesn't really matter if you test on CD20 or CD22, so if CD21 is Sunday just go on Monday and if a Saturday go on Friday.

EllaMenoPea · 25/04/2016 22:15

Thanks guys. Bloody love this thread!

How are you doing robber? Have you managed to speak to the clinic yet?

OP posts:
YouBoggleMyMind · 25/04/2016 22:40

There's no hr person or intranet. The person who would know would be my boss... The people who did the job before me were male or older women who have had their children. I'm not expecting enhanced pay or anything but they should have something somewhere surely?!

RobberBride · 25/04/2016 22:42

Me too Ella Smile

Clinic nurse was hilarious. 'Er...who knows? It might have been your body attempting to ovulate, so the progesterone started to rise, then you failed to ovulate, so the progesterone fell, triggering a shedding of the lining. Or it could be mid cycle clomid bleeding. Either way, clomid is clearly not the right drug for you.' I've got an appointment with them on 4th May for them to teach DH how to inject me (I'm unbelievably clumsy, no way am I doing it. Also I think it'll be good for him, it might make him remember to take his conception vitamins) then we'll start as soon as we're back from holiday on 28th May.

RobberBride · 25/04/2016 22:46

Boggle in that case it is probably statutory which means you need to 'have worked for your employer continuously for at least 26 weeks up to the 'qualifying week' - the 15th week before the expected week of childbirth'. In other words, you can fall pregnant now and you'll be covered.

AmyC86 · 25/04/2016 22:48

Thanks Ladies, today has been very light flow. Almost none existant really. So Im thinking that CD21 bloods will be fine on the 22nd.

I'm also considering omitting the clomid to day 3-7 because today has really been a total none day as far as AF is concerned. (Sorry for TMI) a few wipes of red snotty type of blood all day and hardly anything on a tampon. What do you think ladies?

Moomin37 · 26/04/2016 19:52

Only 13 days of stabbing this time RobberSmile I did 18 and 19 days on the previous rounds. Saying that, they started me on a higher dose this time, so it makes sense.

I bloody love this thread too Ella Grin Although I was thinking the other day that we have never done formal introductions so to speak. Shall we? I could start...

Name: Moomin37
Age: Very nearly 37
DC: None (just a cat)
TTC: #1 since July 2014
Diagnosis: Hypothelamic amenorreah (lack of ovulation due to an energy deficit)
Investigations: lap and dye / hcosy
Treatment: One round of Clomid and just finishing third round of ovulation induction using injectables (Menopur)
Next milestone: OTD 12.05.16 (clinic told me 10th but that is only 14 days)
Location: Southwest
Most amusing moment as a barren: When in hospital after lap and dye was walked down the ward to the toilet by two nurses (I was all wobbly as had very low blood pressure) and it wasn't until several days later it occurred to me that the back of my gown was billowing open and I'd flashed everyone (did have pants on, but even so Blush).

RobberBride · 26/04/2016 21:02

Amy you might as well start, I don't think one day will make a huge difference.

Moomin may I ask what dose you're on? Also, that's a lovely idea, nice to 'meet' you properly. I am...

Name: RobberBride
Age: Almost 34
DC: None
TTC: #1 since October 2014
Diagnosis: Hypothalamic amenorrhea (lack of ovulation due to an energy deficit) though they occasionally toy with the idea that it might be PCOS
Investigations: Blood tests, ultrasound, HSG, several rounds of Provera and Norethisterone
Treatment: Put ona significant amount of weight, reduced exercise. Five failed rounds of Clomid. Going to start ovulation induction using injectables (Menopur) at end of May
Next milestone: Hopefully ovulation on Menopur
Location: Southeast
Most amusing moment as a barren: When first telling GP about suspected lack of ovulation - which involved me having to tell her details about my periods since age 14, CM, sex life etc - suddenly the Receptionist hammered on the door and burst into the room. "Doctor! You're leaning on the intercom switch!" The entire consultation had been broadcast to the waiting room, which I then had to slink back through on my way out of the surgery. DH now won't go to that surgery branch, he always goes out of his way to go to the sister surgery Grin

Moomin37 · 26/04/2016 21:12

OMG Robber that intercom moment Shock You've set the barren embarrassment bar high there girl Wink I should have also said that after my diagnosis I massively reduced my sugar intake and hiked up my protein (it couldn't have been much lower really) and switched to organic where possible. Tried to eat more (moderate success) and do less exercise. I'm getting better - I try to eat when hungry and rest when tired, but I still obsess about the number of calories I eat each day and what the weekly average is Sad

I thought the intros would also be beneficial to any blurkers (barren lurkers) or people who stumble upon this thread in the future, particularly as there aren't many HA ers Smile

My Menopur dose was alternating between 75iu and 150iu this time. In previous rounds I've started on 75 every day and then they've increased to 75/150 at around day 10-12. They are super cautious due to risk of multiple pregnancy.
