When to expect period - Provera

EllaMenoPea · 06/10/2015 09:42

As above really. I finished 5 days of Provera on Saturday to induce a bleed to start Clomid. When should I expect a period? Just wondering if anyone has any experiences. Google is telling me lots of different times. Getting impatient Blush

Cool x thanks for that x

YouBoggleMyMind · 15/04/2016 09:55

Hi Ladies,

It's my last day at work today before starting my new job. I've downloaded MN to my phone so I can still keep tabs on everything and everyone!

xxx

Moomin37 · 15/04/2016 18:15

Ooh did you have a good send off Boggle? Are you excited about your new job? I've had a monster week as rushing to finish a big piece of work - now home and looking forward to supper at the local pub :)

RobberBride · 16/04/2016 12:16

Hi Amy, nice to meet you.

Go Ella! What date will you test?

Congrats Boggle, it must be such a relief to leave that job. Do you start the new one immediately?

Moomin good luck for next week. Have the side effects kicked in yet? Hope you're ok.

AFM, my progesterone test is mid next week, so I'll find out then if I ov'd. I'm feeling less optimistic that I was because I'm slightly hypermobile, and I think the hip twinges I felt were actually my pelvis rotating out of place which happens about twice a year. My osteopath should be able to fix me, but til next Wed (first appointment I could get) I'm stuck with shooting pains down both legs Sad.

EllaMenoPea · 16/04/2016 13:24

Poor you robber Thanks sounds painful. Hope you're having a restful weekend.

boggle hope you had a lovely last day....when will you take the Provera again??

Congrats on the work finish moomin. How are you feeling??

I make test day 30th April Confused hello TWW.

I had a lovely send off on my last day at work. Got some lovely gifts and messages.

Starting my new job Monday.
Will take provera in May once I'm back from spain. Xxx

AmyC86 · 16/04/2016 22:19

I'm going onto day 6 of 10 of Norethisterone, anyone felt like there boobs are about to fall off?

RobberBride · 17/04/2016 12:37

Amy you have my sympathy, norethisterone is the worst thing I've ever taken. I couldn't sleep, had night sweats, couldn't stop eating (I would wake up in the night starving and have to eat something or I couldn't get back to sleep). I'm dreading taking it again next month.

Boggle good luck with new job! And Spain sounds nice, whereabouts are you going?

Ella thank you. Fortunately (ish) it has coincided with me having a massive deadline at work, so I haven't minded as much that I've been stuck inside doing work this weekend. Also I watched the last episode of Night Manager, watching Tom Hiddleston always makes me feel happy with the world. (DH is not a fan!)

AmyC86 · 17/04/2016 20:53

I've not really had any of those symptoms, just unbelievably sore boobs. Even to just not even wear a bra I'm practically crying- God help me with the clomid next week!

RobberBride · 17/04/2016 21:01

They affect everyone differently, but I found clomid a walk in the park compared to norethisterone. I only had mild night sweats and slight insomnia. Hope your symptoms ease off!

Moomin37 · 18/04/2016 06:19

Good luck with your first day in the new job Boggle

I've never taken Noretgisterone Amy but I did do one round of Clomid and had 'visual disturbances' so couldn't continue (blurred vision and flashing lights), but I think these are quite rare. I was hot at night and my DH described me as 'being in a state' that week, but other than that it was OK.

Good luck with the test Robber and hope the osteopath does his/her stuff

Less than two weeks to wait now Ella!

AFM I'm fine at the moment, but I'm sure I'll start to feel a bit rubbish over the next few days. Despite using the smaller needles I had blood and swelling after last night's injection, but hopefully the meds are still getting to my ovaries and they're growing follies for me! Scan day on Wednesday...

Moomin37 · 18/04/2016 06:22

Hmm all the emoticons disappeared from my post... so I'll add them to this one!

AmyC86 · 18/04/2016 13:19

I've read the leaflet which comes with the clomid x fingers crossed that I don't have any super nasty side effects.

I've only been given 1 months worth of norethisterone, I'm sure that the gynecologist said that she'd give me 3 months - not sure what I'll do following the first cycle of clomid if I don't see AF now. Any ideas?

As for the clomid. I'm ready and waiting for her!!! I've got 3 days left on the norethisterone then the waiting game for AF. I've got myself a digital thermometer, 30 opks and 20 pregnancy tests (just the crap strip ones)

I'm going to start temping of CD#1 and I'll start using the opks from when my AF ends. Anyone else got any tips?

YouBoggleMyMind · 18/04/2016 21:05

First day at work was ok! Lots to take in and learn.

I didn't have too many issues with clomid so I hopefully it isn't too bad.

How are you feeling moomin and ella? Xxx

YouBoggleMyMind · 18/04/2016 21:06

Sorry I forgot to say, we're going to Menorca for a week with my family. Really looking forward to it but hate flying! Xxx

EllaMenoPea · 18/04/2016 23:21

Glad work went well boggle. Apparently the app SOAR is fantastic for nervous flyers Thanks

You sound ready to go amy! Good luck!

Oh good luck for Wednesday moomin!!

You ok robber?

Hope the tooth is ok eskimo? Have you had your 20week scan yet? Must be soon!

Hi all, just checking in; I still feel very much a part of this group and am always popping by and seeing how you're all doing, plus it would feel very rude if I didn't answer you when you asked me something Grin

Robber Hope you're feeling ok. How are your legs? Hope they can do something for you tomorrow Flowers

Ella Hope the 2WW isn't going too agonisingly slow for you and you have lots planned to keep you busy and stop you symptom spotting! Smile

Boggle Hoorah for a good first day! Hope the second was just as positive/ Enjoy Menorca- sounds fab!

Moomin Good luck for tomorrow! Let us know how it goes. Hope you're still feeling ok.

Amy Best of luck with the clomid. Hopefully it will work and you will see AF, but if not, I'm not sure how the clomid will work without it. I do know people who have taken clomid without AF, but I never have, so can't speak from experience. I only suffered with one night sweat and it was horrible, but well worth it in the end Wink Not sure if anyone has told you this, but you need to be carefull about using OPKs when taking clomid, as it can affect the reading and the results. I never really trusted OPKs as they used to give me strong positives and then bloods would show that I never even ovulated at all, so I would say take them with a hefty pinch of salt or not at all! The cycle I got my BFP I didn't use them at all and went with my CM and DTD every couple of days. Good luck again!

As for me, the saga of the tooth continues... My crown came out about 2 weeks ago and I had to have a temporary one fitted, which has been really uncomfortable. I went back to the dentist earlier today and he gave it a good clean, popped in some antibiotics and another temp crown and I'm going back in May when it will be make or break time for the tooth. Personally, I just want the damn thing out now; it's been too long!

20 week scan on Monday. Exciting (and scary times!)

Lots of love. Keep going; you're all amazing! x x x

eskimoflo · 19/04/2016 20:38

Amy Just read that back and want to make an amendment! Hopefully the clomid will work and you will get your BFP!!!! But if not, the next best thing for people in our situation: AF! (I'm still thinking like someone for whom the arrival of AF is a novelty, exciting event that signals some kind of normality!) Grin

RobberBride · 19/04/2016 21:56

Hi all

Eskimo hello! Promise us you'll return with the 20 week scan photo. Sorry to hear about your tooth, though at least your dentist sounds good and proactive.

Amy get some preseed (Amazon). Clomid has a tendency to, ahem, dry women up. Google it!

Ella how is the waiting going? Are you symptom spotting?

Boggle how was day 2? New jobs are exhausting, though I always struggle to sleep because so much is whirling round my mind! Your holiday sounds excellent. We've got a short break in Porto at the end of May, I can't wait. (And if I'm not pregnant, I'm going to drink my body weight in port.)

Moomin good luck tomorrow!

I love love love my osteopath. His wonderful receptionist gave me a cancellation appointment today and he fixed me. I floated back to the office - so nice to feel normal again! I also had my blood test, so I'll find out if I ov'ed or not on Thursday.

EllaMenoPea · 19/04/2016 22:05

Hi eskimo Smile always lovely to hear from you. Sorry the tooth saga continues! Good luck for Monday! Can't wait to hear what you're having!

Ohh good luck for Thursday!! Porto sounds amazing. Very jealous. Glad to hear you're feeling better too.

2WW is dragging but I'm dreading test day anyway as I know what it'll say. Although I am pretty bloated so I'm obviously pg right?!! Driving myself crazy already!

Good luck for tomorrow moomin

Hope you're well boggle and feeling settled Thanks

I second preseed amy!

Oh sorry for the many !

Evening all,

Feeling despairing (bloodwork came back early and my progesterone result was 1.2) and confused. I've been cramped and bloaty since last night, and (TMI alert) this afternoon brown blood started to appear, not like a normal AF but like the tail end of AF. I presume this latest clomid dose did something to my progesterone levels and then they started to drop and so my body is shedding lining? I'll phone the clinic tomorrow to get their view.

So fed up. In the 19 months since I stopped BC I haven't ovulated once. Not only am I not in the race, I'm not even near the starting line!

Sorry for the me me me post, I'm just really Sad tonight.

AmyC86 · 20/04/2016 22:16

Thanks for the tips ladies. I had heard about this preseed and was contemplating it x now that a few of you have suggested it, I'll get some! Drying up is the last thing we need when we're going to be DTD!

Moomin37 · 21/04/2016 06:04

Robber I'm really sorry to hear your news Sad and I hope the clinic have something helpful to say and outline the next steps Thanks From what I have read Clomid isn't very good for people with HA so don't lose faith - hopefully you'll be on the injectables soon and they'll do the trick Smile

Had my scan yesterday and they are pleased as I have one 11mm follie, but my lining was thin, so need to see what my estradol is doing and scan again on Friday.

Sorry rushing to get to work early so no time to answer anyone else!

EllaMenoPea · 21/04/2016 07:27

robber I'm sorry Thanks hopefully the clinic will have more answers for you. Or like moomin says the injectables will be the ones. How are you feeling this morning?

Nice work on the follicle moomin. Good luck again for Friday.
