I can't believe you are going to test so soon. I know you have had such a long journey but it feels so quick now it's strange.

I'm on 8 mg of progynova.

Thanks for the kind words ladies.
The thread has definitely gone beyond PCOS. When it started we was talking about inositol and Vitamins and now we have a few IVFers!! Goes to show we will all get our miracles one way or another.
I have decided to have my tubes removed and go for IVF with all I have. The Dr said I could confirm what I want in November but I called his secretary yesterday and she has took a message explaining I'd like to go straight in the list for the tube surgery. No point delaying it till November, hopefully it will be done by December then it will just be the IVF waiting list.
Can I ask if you ladies are doing it privately vixx, banana (sorry if you've already explained, so much to remember about all of you) . Seems like you have got things going very quickly! Xxx

Pebbles what will the process be for ivf for you?

I am doing mine on the NHS. I get 3 goes for free. How about you.

I first went to the doctors 2 and half years ago! It has been such a long process to get to this point. But from clomid to ivf it's been about six weeks which is good but I was on the waiting list for ivf since September last year.

Hi all - on a lighter note, dh just called me coming out of getting his SA results. It's all fine, he has higher than average sperm count...and I honestly haven't seen him so pumped up and happy for years Grin you'd think he'd just won an Olympic gold medal. Such a weird thing to be proud of. Men, eh?!

Amazing Vixx not long now! That's amazing that your trust funds 3 fresh cycles - so few do, it's so unfair that it's such a postcode lottery. Really glad yours is so good!

Pebbles massive hugs, it's a massive decision and will take some adjustment, but it's great that you have a plan - and are moving ever closer to getting your BFP.

I am self funding IVF - I haven't been trying for the requisite 2 years to be considered for the waiting list, but as within 2 years I could be in premature ovarian failure (ie early menopause), time is not on our side. Even if we had been trying long enough, my FSH and AMH are so bad that I wouldn't get NHS funding. They won't help the people that need it most Sad

IsIt and Ponty welcome back Smile

Rosebud excited for you, keeping everything crossed for you, cheering you on with pom-poms and here with party poppers or big sloppy hugs, whatever happens

I can't remember the dose of Cetrotide off the top of my head, but I'm starting on the sledgehammer dose of Gonal-F (450iu) - ie I'm being treated as a poor responder rather than a PCOS patient (even though he says I still have PCOS even if I'm not presenting as one, as it doesn't just 'go away'). Start the Gonal-F on day 2, add in the Cetrotide on day 6, and egg collection provisionally scheduled for day 13. So that's 10 days of stims (as get one day off between trigger as EC)

vixx I am no where near the IVF protocol yet, the Dr who will do the tubal surgery has reffered me to a fertilty Dr, so could be a long wait a head. But he said I would definitely be eligible for the funding. He's not sure about the waiting times or how many cycles is funded. Amazing your getting the full 3, Deffo a BFP and baby for you. Best of luck with your cycles Flowers
banana you must be soooo ready to start, time waits for no one in this TTC business. I am quite inpatient and would pay for it tomorrow if my tubes were OK! X

stealth aren't men strange? I know DH was very pleased with himself when his SA came back normal Hmm

vixx & bananafish fingers crossed for your IVF!

pebbles that's a brave choice you're making and I really hope it all works out for you. As Rosebud said, how we make the baby really won't matter once it's here!

lucina welcome to the thread. It sounds as if you're doing everything that you can so far, and a Dr who is willing to give you treatment is a good thing. I know from experience that it can feel a bit hopeless and you can swing was furious that it's not happening to grateful for the help - that's all normal, and why we use the thread Flowers

I don't have much of an update. I managed to get my bloods done in the end - talked the nurse into doing them as a last appointment then delivered the sample to the lab myself. I think when they realised how determined I was they just gave in to me Grin
I still have very very tender boobs but ewcm has disappeared so it's time to cross my fingers and hope it all worked.
I'm away at a spa this weekend so I'm trying to keep all baby thoughts at bay but am not doing a great job. By my calculations, I should know roughly by the end of next week as bloods will tell if I ov'd and AF and her lovely bad back and cramp sidekicks will either have shown up or not. Wish me luck!

Pebbles like others have said, it doesn't matter how you get your baby. Once you hold your baby in your arms it doesn't matter how he/she was conceived.

Isit I was taking the clomid at night but waking up in the morning and having major hot flushes. Also, seem prone to bursting into tears at any moment! Other than that... not too bad! Really hope it works this time. How have you found 150mg clomid? Great news about getting bloods done. Really hope you ov'd.

Fingers crossed for your ivf Vixx and Stealth It all sounds very exciting. October isn't long to wait!

Welcome LucianaFlowers

Congratulations Newby on the bfp and congratulations Rosebud on the +ve ovulation. Smile

I've just finished taking 100mg clomid and have a tracking scan midweek. The wait seems like forever!

Hello everyone,

I hope you don't mind me joining this forum. I've been reading it for a while with interest. I've been really struck by how courageous you have all been through your separate journeys.

A little about me - I was diagnosed with pcos 15 years ago. The 'only' thing that bothered me then was the symptoms of weight, acne and hair. Fast forward 15 years and me and DH would like to have a baby. To cut a long story short we decided to go private (in our area it's a long wait and then we moved house and it was another long wait etc.) we had a really testing experience with our first private consultant and DH persuaded me to go for a second opinion. The next consultant was fab, and we agreed on a course of treatment which started with provera and clomid (the other consultant wanted to skip straight to ovarian drilling, which i couldn't see the rationale for before at least trying clomid!) anyway, I started provera and AF has arrived today. We have been instructed to book a scan on day 8 or 9 of cycle, both of which are on the weekend. Have any of you had follicle tracking? What day was your first scan? It's costing us so much money and I feel so anxious about it all, I really want to get it right!

Thanks in advance :) xxx

Stealth lmao, your DH sounds like mine. The sonographer who scanned me in gynae also scanned me when I was pg... She told DH he must have super sperm to have got me pregnant, given the state of my ovaries!!! Shock Naturally, DH crowed about it (and still does to this day!!!), almost like he's proven his manhood or something!! Confused

Pebbles It sounds like you have really carefully considered your options and this very brave move you are making just gets you closer to holding your lil one in your arms. Flowers

Vixx and banana F Xd for your IVF cycles. We're right here behind you for hand holding throughout Flowers

Welcome luciana and newhere You've found a wonderful place of refuge, where support flows freely and there's no such thing as TMI Grin

So, AFM, you know I said I stopped bleeding??? Well AF has now arrived!!! Hmm The mc board has been very helpful though and I have been reassured that the first AF after mc is generally a "WTF?! cycle" so I guess I'll make a note of it and see what happens from here. The most bizarre thing is that this is only 24 days after the 2nd op!! It's very disconcerting to a PCOSer who is used to 35+ day cycles!!

I also just want to thank you for all once again for the kindness you have shown me over the last two months. You will never know how much your messages have helped me get through some challenging days. Cake Brew (or Wine for those able to partake!)

shortyk yy to the feeling weepy and hormonal! Doses don't seem to make this any different, I've been like it on every cycle. Also, I get the hot flushes and take it before bed - when I first took it in the afternoon it made me feel dizzy / spaced out. That side effect eased off when taking it at night.

newhere welcome to the thread! I'm being treated in the NHS and haven't had any tracking scans, just day 21 bloods each cycle so I can't really help with that, sorry. Definately a good decision to get a second opinion though! What clomid dose are you starting on?
As prev mentioned, not sure if you have been warned but be prepared (and warn DH) that you may find yourself very tired and weepy / hormonal!

chandelier what a strange cycle, but I guess your body has been through quite a lot so it's just getting itself back on track.
So glad we managed to help (a little), this thread is kind of amazing isn't it? Considering I wouldn't know if you sat next to me on the bus, I want so much for everyone here to get their BFP Flowers

My girly weekend is being a bit high jacked by baby talk, and I'm biting my toungue and drinking non alcoholic wine to get through it. It's a spa and is relaxing but my god I want to shout STOP TALKING ABOUT BABIES, I WANT ONE SO MUCH!!

Aahh that's better GrinGrin

Stealth Fab news about those spermies! Smile

Vixx That's amazing that you get 3 cycles free! Here (South of England) in my area you have to have been TTC for 3 years and then only get 1 free cycle! Not that I'm entitled anyway cos of the STUPID rules

Isit Well done on being extra persuasive with your bloods! I hope the talk has moved on from babies now- sometimes it's impossible to escape isn't it?!

Shorty Woohoo for 100mg clomid- fingers crossed for your scan Smile

Welcome newhere CD8 or 9 for your first follicle tracking scan sounds rather early to me. I've always had my first one around day 12. It's unlikely you would ov before CD12 anyway so if I were you I think I would book it for CD 11 or 12 and save some pennies (some months on clomid I have had to have 4 follicles tracking scansacross a 10 day period- if I was being seen privately that's a crazy amount of money to shell out!) How old are you and how long have you been TTC?

Chandelier One step closer! I hope this cycle is especially kind to you Smile

AFM- either 10 or 12 DPO today (FF still not confirming which is right!) and a BFN on an IC this morning. I feel sad but I know there is still a chance, especially if I'm only 10DPO so I'm going to give it a few days and test again. FF says AF is due tomorrow. I think it's due tomorrow or Tues so if it doesn't show up by then I'll crack open a FRER!

rosebud *good luck over the next few days, I'll have fx. High temps is a fantastic sign. Really good advice about the follicle tracking and has put my mind at ease that the earliest I'll be able to go is on day 10. The way the clinic does it is it a set (rather expensive) fee for one cycle, regardless of the number of Scans so I will have to try to stop myself going for a scan every hour!
I'm 30 and we've been trying for a year, but as my not very nice GP said 'you've no chance if you're not ovulating'

*isit - thank you for the advice! I will definitely pass it on to DH. I'm starting on 50, but reading about the struggles here, I've pretty much made up my mind that I'm likely to not respond (potentially daft I know) but it just feels the most likely option at this point!

Hope all the ladies on girly weekends have earned a well deserved break :)

Good luck Isit I have everything crossed for you and hope you had a nice weekend with the girls despite the baby talk! It's endless isn't it! I still feel like that despite having a BFP as I can't seem to relax about it yet and everyone keeps saying "so when will you and DH try for a baby". Bugger off I want to scream haha. Anyway, I am sending babydust to you and rosebud!

Mistletoe good luck to you too, you're right to hold off in testing until after AF should have arrived, it's just not worth the heartache is it. My Mum was telling me how in her day you couldn't get these tests and you couldn't get a doctor to test you until you had missed a second AF! It must have been a hellish wait but at least she avoided a lot of chemical and early mc heartache too.

AFM I am having my 12 week scan tomorrow and am absolutely terrified of mmc. I know it is unlikely but it still is scaring me senseless as feel I have come so far since my PCOS diagnosis and don't know if I could be as brave as chandelier has been . I really admire you guys. xx

Hi all
Been too slow at catching up on all the messages since I last posted but wow, another BFP - congratulations, Newby!
Dollface - good luck at your scan!
Rosebud - got everything crossed for you that AF doesn't show and you get what you want from the FRER. It would be the sweetest compensation to get your BFP after the harsh clomid side effects.
Vixx, Pebble, Banana - good luck starting the IVF. I'm learning a lot from you and am wondering how soon I might be going down that road.
AFM, I had my ovarian cyst taken out last week. I'm recovering well and glad to have it over and done with. They managed to keep some ovarian tissue but the poor thing is probably feeling pretty embattled right now. The other one is still intact but is the particularly polycystic one. The doc tried to do the dye test while I was under (to make the most of being opened laporoscopically and under general anaesthetic!) but unfortunately it was 'inconclusive' - no dye flowed, so my tubes might be blocked, but apparently they look fine and it could well have been a reaction to the operation that everything 'clenched'. Hmm. Trying not to worry about it. Now eagerly waiting for my fertility clinic appointment (November - so not too long a wait) and hoping they will put me straight onto clomiphene. But I guess they might do an HSG/HyCoSy first given the dye test.

I am still here ladies! I couldn't leave, I would be stupid to stop chatting to a lovely bunch of ladies who know exactly what your going through and can actually relate to!
Rosebud I really hope AF doesn't show, I have FX for you xx
Dollface I hope you can relax a bit more after your scan, I am sure it will be fine. GL xx
Mistletoe you have the right plan for not testing yet, hope this is your month. FX for you xx
feefee your poor ovary! These ops are not good are they? The pain after my Lap and Dye was just about bearable, i hope your being well looked after Flowers have you ever had an ultrasound scan on your abdo? That's how my blocked tubes was first noticed hence me having the L&D to confrm it. If you've been fine upto now hopefully it was just the operation circumstances that stopped the dye, I am sure you'll be fine. I too have my next appt in Nov, HURRY UP NOVEMBER! I hope you get clomid, FX!

AFM another close friend about to give birth today or tomorrow, que my brave face and holding back the tears! I am over the moon for her but dreading going to visit because I know I'll get the usual response 'it will be you next'!! Never mind, at least I sort of have a plan b.
Hope all you lovely ladies had a good weekend xxx

dollface i can completely relate to pre-scan nerves. Even though i'd had so many when the 12 week scan came, it felt like validation in more ways than one. I cried my eyes out and refused to go. It was at 3pm so that whole day i tortured myself. I was completely rigid with fear, i didnt speak to the midwives other than to confirm details. And whatddya know, baby was perfectly fine. Fear is such a powerful emotion, as is love, and it's those two combined (fear for something being wrong, love for this little baby) that can cripple you sometimes. But just keep thinking "this time tomorrow, it'll be done and i'll have seen baby and be feeling so different" Flowers sending lots of positive vibes your way - all will be well Smile
