Thread for all ladies on the RESPONSE trial - all stages welcome, for a bit of well needed silliness and good old fashioned all round advice and support!

Right... am going to hold the wee for 3 hours then pop and get a frer from boots at lunchtime! do we think that would be the best option?

I am utterly terrified - that it might not be positive, or that it might actually be positive! both prospects are utterly petrifying!!

xx

I wouldn't 'waste your wee' on another test, I would ring the trial team and go in. For whatever reason should their test say negative (which it won't) then there's no harm done. If you use your wee on another test, chances are you'd have to wait until tmrw to see the trial team as the randomising appt takes hours and hours!! X

Indiedog · 13/08/2015 09:07

Yep, I can see a line, even with my sqinty just woke up, no glasses on eyes!!!

I would test again after holding your wee, but also ring the team to advise them.
I had such a faint, I took the test apart. I rang them, and told them, and then I did another one in the evening.

Good luck xx

MAS7 · 13/08/2015 09:07

I agree with Philippa. Get ringing!

Vicki272 · 13/08/2015 09:10

Genwah85 · 13/08/2015 09:23

Yey vicki My first one looked like that too! So pleased for you!

Had my 10 week scan even though I'm only 9 and all was good got to see little legs cord and placenta so feeling relieved for now!

Got a scan in 2 weeks time as well as my 12 week through community midwife so 2 more in next few weeks and apprently I can have one at 16 weeks as well if I get that far! Hope everyone has a good day!

I have a scan picture and will put up if no one minds xx

MAS7 · 13/08/2015 09:28

Congratulations Gen, would love to see a pic!

Great that you get a scan at 16 weeks. Cov didn't offer that but ended up having one at epu anyway at 17 weeks due to pain.

Vicki272 · 13/08/2015 09:43

Yay gen congrats! Deffo put the pic up...

MAS i am at Coventry... are you?

Waiting for a call now! xx

Wow. Triple congrats Little, Vicki and Gen.

Vicki272 · 13/08/2015 12:26

So.... Update!

I am seeing D and the docs at 2pm... got to make the journey from here (MK) to Cov. Am going to try to not go for a wee as haven't been since this morning (about 9.45 ish) so should be a fairly decent sample?

What happens in the doc's physical? xx

Kazz2112 · 13/08/2015 12:34

They literally just checked my spleen and glands in my neck and then listened to my chest

littleb84 · 13/08/2015 12:46

Thanks girls Grin

I've just had call back from hospital, I've got my appointment tomorrow at 10am. They told me that they would do a load of blood tests, stomach & chest exam, the usual obs. Then they do the randomisation, show me how to inject myself and keep me under obs for a further hour to make sure i have no reaction to the medicine. They said i'd have to go back Monday or Tuesday for follow up tests as well and that then starts my weekly appointments. Good luck today vicki hope you're not there too long & its straight forward.

Can't quite believe this is happening!!

philippa88 · 13/08/2015 16:47

Brilliant news!!! 3 lots of positive news.. Love it!! Congrats to you all :)
When I had my trial apt today they said rather than the private scan I had, they could have probably done me a cheeky scan today free! Typical lol x

Brummiemum87 · 13/08/2015 17:32

Hi ladies I've not been on for a few days so only just catching up with the goings on. Looks like I chose a good day to log on, lots of positive news!! Congratulations on the positives & congratulations Genwah on another succesful scan! Do you know of everyone on the trial at heartlands get extra scan at 16weeks? I was going to ask at my next appointment. I've got my 10week scan on mon when il be approx 10weeks 2days...nerves are beginning to kick in now! I've been so poorly with morning sickness & tiredness this time, really struggling especially with looking after a lively 3 year old...hopefully it'll start improving soon! I'm trying not to moan as I see it as a positive sign.
I had my booking in appointment with midwife this morning, felt strange discussing anything further on than 12weeks, I've not really thought about it as just been aiming for the 12week mark. X

Brummiemum87 · 13/08/2015 17:34

Sorry I forgot to say kazz I'm so sorry to hear your news, I hope you're ok...we're always here for you to vent to! We all understand exactly how you're feeling. Sending you lots of love xx
