when's your next scan March? how you feeling symptom wise?
Dr Google says fibroids/hormone imbalance etc I have a pelvic scan on Fri not sure if sonographer will tell me if she sees anything though?x

Vicki272 · 12/08/2015 19:46

claire they should tell you there and then... I was told straight away on the last scan I had that my PCOS was worse again. The first time they diagnosed me they told me straight away! Hopefully they do for you too, just so you know!!

little it's driving me insane!!! So bloated too... I'm looking for the tiniest line on the test. Rubbish!

How is the decorating going? X

what symptoms did you have for pcos Vicki?x

littleb84 · 12/08/2015 20:38

Given up on decorating half way through & watching bake off!....now living with drawers & bedside tables in living room & finishing everything tomorrow. It is good to have something to take my mind off everything.

Vicki272 · 12/08/2015 21:09

I'm glad it's working little! I'm watching bake off too... We have a little competition at work. We are baking each signature bake for the following Friday! So, this Friday I will be making the Madeira cake from last week!

claire PCOS is a funny one. The symptoms come and go as sometimes there will be lots of little cysts on the ovaries and other times hardly any. So, my most recent scan had loads but the ones following all the other MCs have had hardly any.

Symptoms that you might notice are:
Painful periods - the cramps are horrendous
Irregular cycles - when I was younger it wouldn't be unusual to miss AF for 12 months! Then have a really bad one...
Weight issues - Easy to put on, hard to lose... PCOS impacts on the insulin in your body so it changes the way it processes food.

Hormonal imbalances, spotty skin, hairy boobs... All the joys!!

The biggest one at the moment for me is the irregular cycle thing... As I've said I have no idea when I am due on as cycle could be anywhere from 28 to 34 days!

I am used to most of the other things... Mine always got worse with stress too! The back ache is bad with the cramps - not sure if that's because my womb is slightly tilted though.

There are some connections with PCOS and MC but they haven't done enough research to work out what it is.

It's hereditary too... Anyone in your family have it?

I'm the only one... Nothing for my mum or nana but my sister has just been diagnosed with a mild form. X

Ahh vicki sounds awful for you.

I have quite a bit of cramping for first two days but then I'm fine.
I'm not sure what to think as my bleeding is always the week prior to af so maybe hormonal?my periods are def more painful and heavier now though, although saying that I'm now using a mooncup so I can see blood alot more. I hope whatever is causing it can be helped I can't bear bleeding for 15 days per month.X

clairemorgan81 · 12/08/2015 21:20

I have irregular cycles same as you anywhere from 28-34 days too.

no one in family and has it as far as I'm aware.

my last mc the sonographer mentioned cysts and I asked what she meant and she said they would need be alot bigger for them to worry?
God only knows x

Vicki272 · 12/08/2015 21:30

PCOS could be a possibility then? Ask them to look at it... It takes a scan and blood tests to confirm...

It's hell but actually am used to it now! Have had it for 13 years!

Heavy periods is a symptom too.

I would seriously ask them to test you!

X

OP posts:
MAS7 · 13/08/2015 08:02

Try your cheapies, it might be a bit early for the digital and I hate wasting those!

I definitely see something and remember how faint my cb was at 10dpo - hubby couldn't see it at all but they are not experts like us!

clairemorgan81 · 13/08/2015 08:03

its def positive Vicki x

MAS7 · 13/08/2015 08:05

I'd say this early you need fmu or to hold your wee for at least 3 hours!

philippa88 · 13/08/2015 08:10

Ring the trial team and if you haven't saved your fmu, then don't drink anything and hold that wee for as long as possible!! It's defo positive so think positive!!! :) x

Kazz2112 · 13/08/2015 08:43

Yeah they're definitely positive. Id ring them. I'm took my fmu but they wanted to do a test with fresh pee. It was only by the skin of my teeth it showed up. Definitely use the tips from the other ladies regarding your pee

And congratulations!
