TTC - anxious over early pregnancy possible symptoms?

PrtyPsn · 27/06/2015 07:53

Hi,
First time post so please be kind :)
Been TTC for 4 months now (though month 1 we missed my fertile window)
I'm around 5ish days from AF being due but wondering if I could be pregnant for a few reasons: I e been really struggling to sleep the past few nights and when I manage to I have really vivid dreams (the kind when you aren't sure if they have actually happened when you wake up) I've been peeing almost double what I normally would and every now and then I get a weird feeling in my stomach, in a similar place to where I have period pains but it's not pain, it's more like when you over extend a muscle, just a twinge then it's gone.
Was wondering if anyone had similar symptoms? Sorry to pour all this in here (you've probably heard it a million times before) but nobody knows we are TTC so I'm kinda on my own with this!
Thanks

Oh MissP so sorry! Not daft at all, especially since you were experiencing symptoms. It's good to have a little cry too- it's just the frustration and disappointment coming out so we can start again.

I'm due today but did a test yesterday as I'm going away from DH for work for a few days and my symptoms have felt crazy- heavy sore boobs, really queasy, hot, neverending thirst, but it was BFN. So I had a lie down and a cry too. No matter how much you tell yourself, it's probably going to be a BFN it never fails to hurt, but I figure that's cos we all care so much which can only be a good thing. Sorry, waffling.

Welcome stripes! I haven't done ov tests, I'm afraid but I know one of the others will be able to help... x

PrtyPsn · 11/07/2015 09:54

Annie that's some crappy news too, you could have tested too early though so don't give up hope completely (though I'm not sure if it's worse to keep on thinking 'maybe...' I can never really accept it til AF arrives)
It is, well, let's face it, soul destroying, every BFN chips away at us all (for me if it's mine or someone else's) but like you say it's only because we care so much and we all want it to happen - and it will, for every one of us. It just takes time, probably longer than some of us thought/hoped but we will all get there xx

Oh, and never apologise for waffling - it's part of the beauty of being a woman, we all get to talk and rant and waffle and cry and laugh - new thread rule, all of these are acceptable and no apology needed for any!
Blimey, Im churning out these rules pretty quick! To be fair, I thought one or two people might read my initial post, ignore it, maybe get a response or two then it would die! I'm glad it hadn't though he - I'm so glad we have hot each other to bounce stuff off :)

Thanks prtypsn , and yes basing it on an app but will carry on DTD and see if anything happens ! good to know from reading on here though that a lot of women are the same when ttc - I've only told my best Friend we are ttc and she is single etc so is a bit like just don't get obsessed - hmm easier said than done ! Keeping fx for you all though ! How long has everyone been ttc ?

AlwaystheGodmother · 11/07/2015 11:31

Welcome Stripes - exactly same time as you. And I am 38 so practically ancient on childbearing terms. The media would hound me with sticks if they knew. Hmm
Prty is setting up some Cool Rules here tho & speaks a lot of sense, this is fun and such a great outlet for us all.

Annie & MissP - sending Brew to you both but it's good to let it out. DH and I were both crushed last month - ya know, when I actually had a ruddy AF.... You convince yourselves it's The Month and the idea of waiting longer is so frustrating and tiring and scary and intriguing and bound to be emotional. I cried at an advert the other night so comfort yourselves with that.

Oh and would I be right to assume most of you, like me, are currently seeing babies everywhere you go?! Supermarkets, on the telly, restaurants, parks, pool, pubs, strip joints.....

I may be exaggerating a little.

Stripes1983 · 11/07/2015 11:55

Thanks alwaysthegodmother , well I'm almost 32 and my dad keeps telling me I want to get on with it as I'm getting on !:) And yep - babies everywhere , in the last 2 weeks I've found out 3 people are pregnant at work, one is a really close friend though and they had been trying for over a year so obviously v.happy for them as they have done their time so to speak lol but makes me want it to be me even more now!

pammy410 · 11/07/2015 12:01

Hi, been having a read of this thread and I feel so comforted knowing that I'm not the only person feeling the way I am. I feel like I'm becoming obsessed with every little detail.
On month 4 of ttc and likewise no one knows we r ttc so been feeling rather frustrated. AF is due today but no sign as of yet. Been feeling really tired this week, headaches, waves of nausea and had a lot of discharge the past few days which I've never had before AF. I've been loaded with the cold since Tuesday so chances r the the tiredness and headaches r from that its so hard not to think about it.

PrtyPsn · 11/07/2015 12:54

Godmother pahahahahaha though I'm sure I saw a baby in that opium den last week...
Stripes this will be month 5 for me, we started in March but had already missed my fertile window (according to the almighty app!) it must be something about cycle 4 that turns us all crazy!! I'm 30 and was feeling young and positive til I read some stats about TTC over 30, now I feel ancient, dried up and a reproductive dead end!!
Hi Pammy pleased to virtually meet you :) FX'd AF decides to leave you alone this month! A positive set of symptoms but we are well known for avidly symptom stopping to an insane degree Grin

Thanks prty. Pleased to meet u too. I'm trying so hard to keep busy to stop myself POAS its proving very difficult. My partner is so laid back about it all saying to wait another week before testing. The not knowing is driving me mad.

PrtyPsn · 11/07/2015 15:41

Pammy he sounds like my other half - he's so chilled and relaxed that I'm stressed enough for both of us!!
Hahahaha I know that draw to POAS but give it a day or two if you can resist!!

OP posts:
pammy410 · 11/07/2015 16:00

I'm going to try, as much as its driving me mad I don't think I could handle the disappointment if it was a bfn.

PrtyPsn · 11/07/2015 16:28

I know Pammy it's like the worst kind of rejection coupled with a total sense of failure :( if you do cave then be sure to let us know either way, we are all rooting for you Smile x

Well Clearblue OV kits arrived today got pk of 20 from Amazon. Am going to start testing as soon as af is done. Here's hoping DH cheers up before then he's been in a foul mood this week :(

PrtyPsn · 11/07/2015 18:43

I ordered some cheapie ones for my first try, not arrived yet though. Let us know how you get one with them :)
Good to know it's not just mine that's being a miserable bugger, thought it might just be AF making me wanna stomp on his head but maybe cycle 4 turns them into annoying shits like it makes us anxious symptom spotters!!

Probably lol I have a dog agility comp this weekend and he wanted to go to an air show but someone had to look after our other dog..so he was very grumpy..but not too bad tonight..

PrtyPsn · 11/07/2015 19:08

Oh dear, not getting their own way makes them the worst!
Hope you did well at the comp :)

Ok we are still very new to it and my black lab Sasha can get very distracted ...but we did three runs and only one elimination which for her is fab. Day two tomorrow.

MissPepper8 · 11/07/2015 23:09

Thanks Annie, PrtyPsn and AlwaystheGodmother Smile.

I am a little better today and my pains not so bad and vomitting eased (I need to get it checked out as I've never been as bad as that).

Babies are everywhere though.. My best friend and my cousin are coming over tomorrow with their baby and today I spent the afternoon with my other cousin's wife and her little boy who just turned 5 months. Don't get me wrong it is nice to have cuddles but still frustrating.

As PrtyPsn has said, there is always next month Smile

PrtyPsn · 12/07/2015 00:35

Makes sure you do get checked out MissPepper sounds like you've really had a tough time!

I had a stroke of genius tonight, ladies! The perfect excuse for not drinking that isn't a cliché, it doesn't invite too many questions AND it throws people off the pregnancy scent... 'I'm not feeling well, I'm having a really bad period, I'm all bloated and nauseous, just can't face a drink' feel free to use it - worked for me (to the best of my knowledge!!)

OP posts:
AlwaystheGodmother · 12/07/2015 01:18

Like like like Prty !

pammy410 · 12/07/2015 08:10

Will do prty, I'm doing not to bad so far. I reckon if I get to Wednesday and still no af then I'll test.
How's everyone today?

PrtyPsn · 12/07/2015 09:23

Sounds sensible to me Pammy by Weds with no AF then you have a good chance of a BFP if it is pregnancy :) FX'd!

I'm not too bad today, no real plans in place for the day and it looks a little cloudy so might squeeze in some baby making practice - just in case we have forgotten how to do it since AF had been hanging around for nearly 5 days Hmm

OP posts:
pammy410 · 12/07/2015 09:41

Sounds like a plan. Won't be long till ur fertile window is back around so may as well get some practice in.
I'm still struggling with this cold, seems to be getting worse rather than better. Got some food shopping to get and a birthday present to hand into a friend then it will be back to bed or lying on the sofa.

PrtyPsn · 12/07/2015 10:07

You know pregnancy lowers your immune system so some people do get excess mucus/head colds etc? Not sure if that's helpful or not but we are over zealous symptom spotters Confused
I need to do some shopping but really can't be bothered! Thanks to not drinking last night and driving rather than taxis we have a bit of spare cash so we might pop out for lunch

Annie2311 · 12/07/2015 18:00

Thanks Prty, no more apologising, I promise! Know what you mean about still having that glimmer of hope after an early BFN. AF was due yesterday but no sign as yet - think my post pill body is still trying to regulate services.

Pammy I am crossing everything for you! Isn't it weird that we sort of feel pleased to be feeling under the weather cos it might mean good news? Enormous respect for waiting til Wed too - I have zero discipline when it comes to waiting to test. Hats off to you!

Totally get what you're all saying about seeing babies EVERYWHERE! I had to go and buy a pressie for a friend's newborn the other day - word of advice, don't go into Mothercare - I had to go to B&Q after to calm down, must've been desperate!

Happy Sundays all x
