That's great Grin when does he go next? I bet he'll just keep getting better each time. I have no idea how you would explain to him :-/

My niece is a few months older and I think maybe if you used an example she would understand. Like 'you know how so and so has a little brother/sister, you are going to have a little brother' would that work maybe? I'm crap at explaining thing!

Cupcake92 · 02/09/2015 20:15

He goes on Friday next :)
Hm yes I could explain like that! :)
I keep pointing out little babies when we are out and telling him that's what I have in my belly and he'll be home with us soon.

It's so hard to explain to a 2 year old Grin

DS is wide awake Hmm

Lulu how are u feeling? I hope ur feeling more urself Flowers

Cupcake92 · 02/09/2015 20:42

I take back what I said about DS being wide awake..... He's fallen asleep! Confused

zombiemeow · 02/09/2015 20:57

Fingers crossed our ds sleep well again! Let's keep this up!

I tried him with porridge before bed too. I didn't know if he would have it as I tried him on normal porridge a few weeks ago and he hated it. This time I got him some c&g banana porridge and he ate loads Blush I was expecting him to have a smaller bottle before bed but he didn't!

LuluJakey1 · 02/09/2015 21:27

More like myself Cupcake. I am really busy again now DH is back at work and there is only me to look after DS. So I don't have time to think during the day.
DH does love being with him. He would happily give up his job and stay at home all day with DS and any other children we have. I could be tempted to let him next time. He has bathed him, given him his milk and is reading to him tonight. Ds is just about asleep but he does seem to look at the pictures and listen It's probably just the tone of voice and the cuddle and the sleepiness that sends him off.
I think I might have had PMT the last few days- that might have been the misery.
I made vegetarian cottage pie tonight with mashed potato and crmbked hardboiled egg topping. DS scoffed it! So did DH who did not even realise it was vegetarian.
Not long now Cupcake. Hope he comes a couple of weeks early. I wonder what DS will make of him. Who will have DS while you are in hospital? Sounds like he is settling at nursery. You must be relieved.
Hope you get some sleep tonight Ducky, you and Cupcake.

My DS loved that banana porridge! He would never eat the plain one, but he loved that and also the one called 'fruity porridge' Grin

Ah Lulu I'm so glad ur feeling more like urself again! :) that's good :) u have such and amazing DH and daddy to ur DS! So nice he does a lot for him. Not All dads are so passionate!
Oo that cottage pie sounds lovely!
Not long at all Lulu till he's here, I hope he comes early too. DS tried to come at this exact time when i was pg with him! 32 weeks! I keep being on the lookout just incase baby does the same Grin
My mom will have DS when I'm having the baby. ExH is there for the birth as he wanted to be there. Which is fine as tbh I believe he should be there, it's his baby! He's the only one going to be there tho as I rele didn't want more people this time, I want it peaceful haha

DS woke up at 12:30am but he went back to sleep till 7am so not bad :)

zombiemeow · 03/09/2015 12:07

Glad your feeling a bit better lulu. Do you miss working?

How are you getting on with exh now cupcake? I'm so excited for you to give birth Grin how has your gd been?

I am amazed. I gave ds loads some porridge before bed, he still had his full bottle, he went to sleep around 6.30. He woke up for his dummy once. Then slept until 6am Shock when he woke up I got up and left him in bed a bit as he was just talking to his sleepytot and I came and got his breakfast ready porridge again!!! And some plum and got him up at 6.30. He had a big breakfast and then had one bottle around 9. That's great for him! He had snacks around 10.30/11 of grapes and apple but didn't eat much then he has just had more left over lasagne with cucumber for lunch and has fallen asleep. Am hoping to get more housework done while he's asleep.

Lulu do you still give porridge before bed? And then do you give it again in the morning? And is that what you did cupcake? I definitely think it helped his sleeping and he likes it. I struggle to get him to have breakfast usually but he likes that.

LuluJakey1 · 03/09/2015 20:13

Yes Ducky, Ds has porridge and milk before bed and either porridge or sometimes egg and toast , or scrambled egg for his breakfast. He likes tomatoes as well and baked beans so sometimes he has those with his scrambled egg- just a spoonful. He makes an awful mess.

Today for lunch we had the rest if the vegetarian cottage pie. Tonight I made a vegetarian spanish bean casserole with baked pitatoes and put some bacon in it for him and DH. They loved it. He had stewed apple - off our tree- with fromage frais afterwards. He had banana after his lunch- most of it ended up mangled through his fingers.

He has climbed the stairs today - with me behind him. There are gates so he can't usually but he wanted to do it -has been trying to get through the gates. He was very pleased with himself but lost interest once he had done it and there wa only the landing up there.

He is in his cot and I can hear DH reading to him. They will probably both fall asleep. DH is exhausted this week. He'll do another 3 hours work tonight one DS is asleep.

Wha does DS eat Cupcake?

OP posts:
zombiemeow · 03/09/2015 20:29

Sounds delicious lulu! Ds loves beans too. Are you a vegetarian? Ds climbs the stairs he did it when I wasn't there I went to the loo and he followed me, he got to about the 3rd step when I came out. I went to put the stair gate on today but have lost a part to it! Looks like
I will have to get some more.

Is dh enjoying his new job apart from being exhausted!!!

Cupcake92 · 03/09/2015 20:33

We are getting on okay but he has his moments where he reminds me that he's a cock lol
My gd has been fine thanks ducky :) I've been so strict on my diet tho. I did eat 2 wine gums earlier and omg my sugars soared!! Shock
Wow ur DS is doing amazing ducky :) and yes I used to give DS porridge before bed and at breakfast too :) he loved it!

Oh Lulu it sounds like u make such yummy food! I wish i could come to urs for dinner!
DS loves homemade curry, ill do that once a week for him, he eats beef stew and dumplings (which I've had to stop eating!! :( :( ) I always make a roast chicken dinner, if we have been out and are late home or I'm just too exhausted to cook from scratch I'll do him a kiddie cutlet meal like, fish fingers chips and spaghetti, or he'll have a beef burger and potato and carrot waffles lol :)

DS was with his dad today till 2 so I went swimming. It was amazing!!! Wish I could have stayed In the water all day!
I instantly had no pain in my pelvis/hips and my backache disappeared! :)
My new doctor said I can't have a water birth because of my csection, where as my old doc said I could as there is a wireless monitor to monitor me constantly under water... I am so much more determined to get my water birth! If it relieved all my aches like that then I think it'll help wonders through labour! I can forget about my pelvis pain and just concentrate on contractions.
I'm deffo gonna push for this water birth.

zombiemeow · 04/09/2015 07:00

Do you have to do anything when your levels go up? I wouldn't cope without sweets!

Hope ds gets on ok.

Ds must have been tricking me the other two nights, he had a bad night last night

Cupcake92 · 04/09/2015 08:19

No I don't have to do anything atm, but if they continue to go up they will put me on medication Confused

Well I'm with u on a bad night ducky! Hardly slept at all and I don't know why! Spent all night in my bed because every time I tried to get him to sleep in his bed he cried and didn't want to.
and now this morning he's refusing to eat his breakfast. Which means he'll go to nursery and won't eat there so he's going to starve all day as he's there till 3:30pm!
And if he's hungry he's going to be upset all day :( eugh. I'm just gonna sit n worry all day now.

zombiemeow · 04/09/2015 09:00

Cupcake ds hardly ate this morning too. They're always in sync!!

Hopefully he will eat at nursery this time if he is hungry. How stressful for you though. Do you have any plans for today?

Cupcake92 · 04/09/2015 17:53

He never ate again at nursery but he was sat at the table again. Hopefully he'll eat soon, once he's settled in.
I gave him some croissants when he got home which he ate.
We have just eaten dinner and he had curry and omg he ate it all!!! ALL of it!! So pleased :) he's never cleared a plate ever!

I went and saw my mom today and also sat at home and read a magazine before getting DS from nursery :) it's been peaceful.
DS did better at nursery today and actually made a friend!!! He played with a little boy :) I'm so pleased!!

Fx our DS's sleep well tonight ducky!

zombiemeow · 04/09/2015 18:26

Yay go ds for cleaning a plate! I bet he'll feel better going now he has a friend Smile

My ds has been very clingy today he didn't want to be put down at all, and his naps have been all over the place. Not feeling very hopeful for tonight Sad

Cupcake92 · 04/09/2015 21:13

I'm hoping so, he starts properly next week and is there 3 days!! Shock I'm so nervous!

How's DS doing so far ducky?
My DS fell asleep at 8:45, praying he'll stay asleep tonight!!

LuluJakey1 · 04/09/2015 21:14

It's amazing how often you two have similar things happen Smile
DS is in bed asleep. I wore him out today so DH and I could have a but of us time.

DH looked tired when he got home and has had a little sleep Smile (sounds like DS). Then he had a shower and a bottle of guinness and is looking more relaxed. I made macaroni cheese for tea which is his favourite. He is sitting with a mug of cappuncino watching 'Would I Lie to You' and laughing.

We are going down to Northallerton for the day tomorrow.

Hope your two DSs sleep well. Sounds like yours is settling at nursery Cupcake- making a friend is excellent.

Ds and I are going to a play group at his nursery on Wednesday next week in the afternoon. I want him to be really used to the place and people.

DH and I are going to bed soon- both tired.

OP posts:
Cupcake92 · 04/09/2015 23:33

Aw I hope u and DH had a nice night together :) and the idea of going tons play group at the nursery is a great idea!

Well DS is awake already and I know why he's been waking up now...... He's woken up just now with a full blown cold :(
He sounds awful!! He's so bunged up! I feel so bad for him :(
He keeps moaning atm and crying. I think tonight will be a long night. He looks awful tho bless him :(

Cupcake92 · 05/09/2015 04:49

Well... I think he's finally settled and gone to sleep. It's been such a long long long long long night :(
He's rele not feeling well, so bunged up bless him.
He's going to live in his dressing gown later and have calpol and drink lots of warm milk lol

LuluJakey1 · 05/09/2015 09:40

Cupcake, we sank into bed last night, cuddled up and were asleep within seconds. It was a bit more lively when we woke up this morning and we had an hour before DS woke up. Grin Then I made DH bacon and tomato sandwiches for his breakfast so he is feeling like everything is right in his world. He is easily pleased, sex and food.

I am so sorry you had a bad night. You must be exhausted. Poor DS! How is he this morning?

We are off to Northallerton in a minute. Hope you have a nice day.

OP posts:
Cupcake92 · 05/09/2015 10:04

Haha Lulu! Grin glad u got to spend some time together!

Enjoy ur day Lulu!

DS is very sniffly this morning he feels cold but his head is hot! I've given him a bath to help unblock his nose etc. he's sat on the sofa wrapped in a blanket with some warm milk and he's watching CBeebies next to the cat :)

zombiemeow · 05/09/2015 10:34

Sounds like you had a nice morning so far lulu! Grin hope you have a nice day.

Cupcake, we had a bad night here too Sad we had two or three wake ups before I went to bed around 11ish and then he was up at 4 Sad. Hope your ds is feeling better soon, i bet they get a lot of colds and things when they go to nursery.

I'm currently job hunting online Hmm

LuluJakey1 · 05/09/2015 18:38

We have had a lovely day. PIL came across and met us and saw DS - who was so good. He has rosy cheeks because he is teething and he looks so cute. The market was on. We went to Betty's and had afternoon tea which was yummy and DS behaved himself in there apart from a few excited shrieks.

We have come home with lots of Betty's treats- Fat Rascals, curd tarts, fruit cake and some amazing little apple sponges filled with buttercream and covered in marzipan coloured so they look just like ripe apples.

DH turned down the chance to go to the pub tonight and watch the football because he wanted to spend the time with DS. No mention of me Hmm
He and DH are in the bath.

I am lying on the settee with the cats. It is nippy up North tonight. Might have to have the fire lit. Autumn is a-coming!

How is DS Cupcake?

How did the job hunting go Ducky?

OP posts:
LuluJakey1 · 05/09/2015 18:40

Mind you we did have a very pooey nappy in Betty's which left the changing room really stinky which was embarrassing as someone was waiting. Not that DS cares. Grin

zombiemeow · 05/09/2015 19:00

Sounds lovely lulu Smile sounds like there is lots to do near you. Are you seeing sil a lot now? Is she settling in well?

I think I have decided I want to be a carer. It's something I have been thinking about for a while, I looked at jobs when I was in my last job but left it as I was pregnant anyway. There seems to always be jobs about for it too. I'm going to update my cv tomorrow then get some applications out. Only problem is I need somewhere where I can choose my hours. We wouldn't be eligible for any help with childcare and by putting ds in a nursery I would be working for nothing. The plan is that I would start when dm finishes, she would pick ds up on her way back from work and h would pick him up when he gets back and put him to bed.
