Of course I don't mind you asking pix. It's just not my cup of tea, I worked with a play therapist in a women's refuge, I also worked for CAFCASS and while the kids were lovely. I prefer working with adults. mental health has always been something I find fascinating and lately elderly care maybe with a specialism in dementia. Lots of time to decide though Smile

Pixa · 14/06/2015 11:37

I work alongside those teams in my role. Smile It is interesting work.

Agree to dementia care. You will find the right place for you, I am sure. Smile Regardless of which area, you will be making a huge difference to people who really need it.

eskimoflo · 14/06/2015 11:53

Hello all! I'm not going to do a huge catch-up, but just wanted to pop my head in and wave to everyone. Had a lovely weekend despite the grim weather! DH and I have had amazing non TTC sex twice, so I'm a happy girl Grin It's been a while because of my stupid hormones and the medication and everything, so it was good to feel 'normal' again. Honey, my face was very horny. Wink

Ok... favourite Disney film Frog and Honey ... Lady and the Tramp. It's got everything in it that I love: dogs, Italian food and catchy songs. What's not to love? Grin Frog We went to the Copenhagen Christmas Markets last year and saw the Little Mermaid statue on the harbour. Definitely recommend.

Mega My DH is a PT. It's quite bad- I hate the gym!

Pixa Glad that you and your DH are ok. I'm keeping everything crossed for the SA results. Flowers

I am currently awaiting my withdrawal bleed. Judging by previous times I have taken the progesterone pills, I think it'll arrive around Tuesday, but the dosage was different this time, so I'm not really sure Confused. After that, I'll be starting the Clomid. Smile

Hope everyone else is ok x x

megarobotdiscoparty · 14/06/2015 12:03

Bless you and DH pixa it sounds like you have a really close bond and all this crapola will just make it stronger. It's scary standing at what feels like the beginning of what might be a long journey...only actually you've already done a lot of slogging and now you'll be travelling with a lot of help from a lot of experts who've done this a million times and got a staggering number of BFPs. So you might actually be in the middle of, or even very near the end of your journey now. Trust in science! I remember this bit being scary for us but also a relief that we weren't just struggling on our own any more.

mummy My friend works across the whole of Cumbria supporting disadvantaged kids and says it's crazy how so many families just don't have support out there, so I can imagine it would be similar issues affecting maternity services. I still occasionally teach antenatal fitness and really feel a drive to protect those women - there are so many anxieties and it's such a vulnerable time. Good midwife care can make a huge difference! Have you looked into it seriously at all?

frog sending burrowing vibes to your wee eggie! I'm dying to see Jurassic World, it looks amazing.

queen hope you're having a lovely and distracting weekend!

megarobotdiscoparty · 14/06/2015 12:06

X post eskimo! Hope your bleed comes quickly so you can get cracking on those pills. My DH is a total gym-phobe, ha! It's all balance right?

eskimoflo · 14/06/2015 12:35

Exactly mega! It's the Olive Theory Wink

frogbubbles · 14/06/2015 12:40

Flo sounds like you've had a lovely weekend. Hurrah for drugs, how exciting too. So pleased about the clomid.

Little Mermaid and a Christmas Market sounds like heaven to me! Must check out. Also I love most Disney films lady and tramp is a classic.

Robot, alas the jurrasic worlding today hasn't happened MrF reckons I should be revising and has promised next weekend to take me. Thanks for the burrowing vibes!! Let's hope that little egg takes note.

DizzyMerry · 14/06/2015 14:05

Pixa we felt exactly the same when we first started fertility investigations. It felt like it was happening to someone else and we were watching from the outside. You both have such a strong relationship and I'm so pleased you can openly talk to each other about it all. This is the first positive step towards your bfp.

Eskimo hoping the bleed comes quickly so you can crack on with the clomid.

Loving the talk about work which makes a real difference to people. Social work and midwifery is definitely one of them. My work involves contact with social workers and the support they provide to adults with mental health is amazing.

Robot hopefully the clinic should contact me in the next few days with an appointment.

Frog I hope that little egg is listening to us 'egging' it on and doing it's job.

I love all the Disney movies. I'm now tempted to watch one tonight!

Rainy34 · 14/06/2015 14:34

Fifie sorry i meant do you feel any different since you started to use the progesterone cream and also if you could send me the link that would be great xx

Rainy34 · 14/06/2015 14:35

hopesupknickersdown my husband has gave me the nickname of sex pest, glad I'm not the only one getting called it x

Rainy34 · 14/06/2015 14:59

I keep looking back and posting, i will do a longer post instead of indivdual ones

Pug i tried doing the squat challenge a few years ago and i saw a difference in doing so, think il re try doing it again, i was on my exercise bike for 50 mins yesterday, my legs are sore today but i feel better in myself, to start with i thought i can't be bothered to do this, but once i got into the swing of it i actaully enjoyed it, had my ipod in and my music blasting and a singalong along the way!!

Dizzy i notice a few days into my period i am too as horny as well,

Robot yeah i could do with you shouting at me, two years ago i lost over a stone and half in weight by going to the gym and using myfitness pal, i have found i have put most of it back on, think its just comfort eating, i have tried at the start of the year to loose weight but did not last long, was not really in the frame of mind to do so but i feel like i really want to do it again, I am going back home to Glasgow to visit family and friends and then we are having a holiday to centre parcs with our friends so def need to get my bikini body ready unless i am pregnant then il be glad to show off my baby bump rather than my food belly!!

Spinning It is so lovley to pop back in, i have missed you!!, thank you for the words of encouragement about the SA , we were really upset when we got the results but dh is starting to change his diet and do more exercise, hoping it helps, how are you?

Thanks Pixa, glad your dh is being supportive, i think when we get the results that we dont always want it is so important not to blame each other and be supportive!!

Frog the lay in sounds like a good idea, fx the blastocyst implants and you get your sticky bean, good luck!!!

talking about Disney, we went to out local Costco and they had some lovely disney pictures for sale, i wanted them all , thats the only thing when i go there i see things i dont need but want and cost me a fortune!!

frogbubbles · 14/06/2015 15:17

Rah. Just returned home to chaos!! Bunny has ripped up one of my fave books and MrF just sat watching sports!! Bloody Hell!!!

Dizzy loving the puns. Which film are you going to watch later? Also most important question which is you fave Disney film?

Rainy thank you my lovely I hope so too. I am banned from Costco as always spend lots of money on lots of crap haha!! Xx

spinningirl10 · 14/06/2015 15:45

Thanks to those who asked after meGrin

I'm good thanks. Back in the UK for the summer and I have the first of my foreign students arriving later! We've just fitted in a quickie as I'm cd 10 and hope to get a positive opk tomorrowWink

Rainy, I have everything crossed that the diet changes and vits will work for you.

Sammy, have you started ivf yet?

Lucie, when do you go for your second round of ivf?

I might hop back onboard if that's ok although I'm not sure I'll be able to post as much. I'm trying to get to grips with spanish verbs Confused

Rainy34 · 14/06/2015 16:27

Frog if i dont watch my step il be banned too xx

Spinning it be great to see you hop back on, im finding it difficult to keep track on here at the moment, we have a date for fertilty referral it is in August, so i am keeping my ttc stress levels at bay and just trying to enjoy life instead

eskimoflo · 14/06/2015 16:46

Speaking of Disney films, a couple of months ago, I watched a Disney film about a group of scientists in Antarctica who had to leave their sled dogs out there due to an accident and they couldn't go back for them until the following summer. It was really good, but sad because it's based on a true story. I couldn't remember the name of it, but I was telling my best friend about it when we went camping a couple of weeks ago. Earlier today, we had Channel 5 on and I saw that 'Snow Dogs' was on today at 4.15, so I thought to myself 'That's the film!'' I messaged my friend to tell her. We just sat down to watch it and I thought 'I don't remember a black guy being the main character?' and then, 'I don't remember him being a dentist?' and then 'I don't remember him being adopted as being integral to the plot?' I Googled. It was Eight Below that I watched. It's the wrong bloody film!
Here's our conversation:

Me: Oooopps!! Snow Dogs isn't the film we thought it was! Are you watching it???

Friend:haha yes

Me: We have it on, and we were like 'Errrrr, we don't remember any of this!'

Friend: Eight Below?!

Me: So I Googled it. YES! It's Eight Below! I haven't even seen Snow Dogs!

Friend: Well all 4 of us are watching it now. (Name of her DP)'s laughing his arse off!

Me: Is he laughing at the film, or at the fact that all four of us are sat here watching it?

Friend: He's not laughing at the film lol!

Me: Eight Below is really good Grin I can't vouch for this one though, lol.

Friend: I think he's gunna put football on soon. Have you got eight below?

Me: No, I watched it on Channel 5 a few months ago. I did think it was odd that it was on again!

Made me chuckle anyway Grin

lucieloos · 14/06/2015 17:01

Spinning! Great to see you back, I had been wondering where you had gone and how you were. My AF should be here any day now and then I will begin my next lot of medication. I will be going out to czech at the end of the month so not long now.

spinningirl10 · 14/06/2015 18:05

Rainy, that's not long to wait! It'll soon come round.

Eskimo, love the film mix up, that's the kind of thing I'd doGrin

Lucie, yay. Not long to wait for you. Is dh going with you for the whole time?

Reluctantnympho · 14/06/2015 18:13

Hi everyone I'm back from Devon Smile we had a lovely weekend with Rory the tiger and co! I even managed a quickie in the shower-for refresh purposes ( no mean feat in a caravan!) I'm about cd 11 here so commencing the shagathon!
Loving CoC I'm going to use it to lure dh into bed ( and by lure I mean lie there and say come on its cock o clock!! ) Wink

Gahhh my line was darkening up when I tested this morning and this afternoon it's vanished! Any ideas opk-ers? Does it look like body tried and failed to ov?

Had been so optimistic for this cycle Sad

Bumsnet- you would be amazed at where we stick our thermometers to help us get our BFP's
Mummyofonesofar · 14/06/2015 18:44

Need to catch up, probably tomorrow morning now. Just to answer those who were interested in my ov - I got a true positive mid morning today so think I will ov tomorrow which at least means I haven't missed out on Coc! Walked most of the way up catbells with beautiful views and a gorgeous 3 course lunch (which wasn't ruined by someone announcing their pregnancy to her parents on the next table over too much) then a splash in a cold lake - fab day. I would go as far as to say best day in a long time. This weekend we would have been 11 weeks and having our private scan I booked and announcing to dps extended family. But this kept me nice and distracted.

Mummyofonesofar · 14/06/2015 18:44

And mega it doesn't look like you even nearly ov'd. Sorry x

loopylou1984 · 14/06/2015 18:52

Hi All, I've missed 2 whole days :( I just can't read it all back, so am going to start from this morning...do fill me in if I've missed anything important!

Spinning! Lovely to hear from you, how are you? Could you remind me how much your DHs results improved?
We haven't started IVF yet. Our nurse appointment is on 22nd, so a week tomorrow and then its just a case of waiting for AF before starting scans and I guess medication. Think we will find out more on the 22nd.

Pixa - I did the rocking again last night, fx it makes a difference! It was puppy visiting day today, they are so cute, I wish I could bring one home now! Your DH sounds fab, brilliant to talk it through and make a plan :)

Eskimo - FX for AF on Tuesday for you!

Nympho - Well done on the caravan shower rumpy!!

Mega - was the strong line first thing this morning? I don't think you're meant to use FMU for them as LH is generally stronger first thing. What calendar day are you on?

Mummy - Hooray for not missing ovulation!! Xx

ThePug · 14/06/2015 18:54

mega Don't panic - your wee may just have been really dilute this afternoon. The month I got my bfp mine faded for a couple of days after I thought I'd had the positive then came back really strong the next day (when I must've actually ov'ed) so keep going for a few more days and don't stop CoC yet!

spinning You're back! Good luck for getting your pos opk. And learning Spanish! I did it at school until AS level but probably couldn't say much anymore.

Rainy That's great that you enjoyed your exercise yesterday. Hope you can keep doing a bit over the next few days without it feeling like a chore.

eskimo Grin I can't believe it took you as long as it did to realise it was the wrong film! Did you keep watching the wrong one? Wonderful to hear your hor(ny)mones are back on track Wink

nympho Did you make sure nobody was around to see the caravan rocking?! Grin Glad you had a fun break.

frog's egg Get in there little egg, snuggle in and get yourself comfy

Pixa When will DH get his results? Did he get to his appt on time despite the car breaking down? I'm sure it was very stressful but I can't help imagining a scenario where he has produced a sample and has a big clock ticking away counting down the time he has to get it to the hospital in, then the car breaks down and he is flagging down a taxi holding a cup o'spunk and so on Grin I think your relationship sounds ab fab. I wish my DH would have meaningful chats with me once in a while Hmm

Into the boring part of my cycle now waiting for another few days before I start bothing to pee on opks.

Oh and I just remembered Honey I am a bit further south than you (Bath) but will be up in the Cotswolds working for the next couple of days, ooh near Knickers too I think! yay another Monday morning early start tomorrow

ThePug · 14/06/2015 18:57

lucy I can't believe it's almost time for you to head off to Czech again already! Very exciting for you. We'd all love to see the fascinating photos again I'm sure if you don't mind sharing. And we all have our fingers crossed for you that this time is the time.

loopylou1984 · 14/06/2015 19:12

Pug I hate that boring waiting stage!

In a strange turn of events I suspect I may have ovd today as my boobs are suddenly sore this afternoon. Odd for me because only got first positive opk yesterday and usually my actual ovulation happens 2 or even 3 days after the initial surge! Xx
