Loving all the doggies!! Too gorgeous. Would love a pup but our cat would never forgive me!

loopylou1984 · 10/06/2015 22:10

Eskimo - the plan is that she'll be outside (with her lovely warm kennel) while we are at work, but she'll be indoors with us whenever we're home, as yes, I agree it would be silly to get a dog and never spend any time with it. If it's really cold then dh will drop her at his parents for the day or take her to work. I love animals and would never do anything that would hurt her :(.
We've been putting off getting one as we were waiting for me to be on maternity leave but as that hasn't happened we decided to bite the bullet and just do it. Xx

DizzyMerry · 10/06/2015 22:12

Aww sammy he's gorgeous such a cutie.

Your dogs look a right mischevious pair hopes. They're adorable.

Nympho your dogs poo story is hilarious.

So pleased your DH has perked up pixa. Ttc is so hard if we didn't laugh we'd cry!

loopylou1984 · 10/06/2015 22:14

Hopes they're lovely Smile

Nympho - your story made me laugh... Is this what I'm in for getting a dog?! X

eskimoflo · 10/06/2015 22:23

Sammy lovely, I wasn't suggesting that you would intentionally hurt her; I was just a bit worried. Whilst I would argue that all dogs should be indoors with their families, I agree that some breeds are suited to being outside at times. As a greyhound mum, I know that mine wouldn't be able to be outside for long periods of time unsupervised. They have thin coats and thin skin and therefore suffer the cold more than other breeds (they even wear pjs at bedtime in winter Hmm ) and also their bodies don't deal with heat very well due to the small proportion of body fat versus the large amount of muscle they have. It's really very surprising that they have been around for thousands of years, as they're a bit rubbish really Hmm Anyway, it sounds like you have a plan for your little girl. One thing I would say (and again, I am sure you have considered this) is to make sure that the kennel is fully secure. Lurchers (especially young ones) are very highly prized by the travelling community and certain, unsavoury members of that community have been known to steal dogs from gardens, kennels and even houses. Sad x x x

loopylou1984 · 10/06/2015 22:38

Thanks Eskimo, yes, our garden is surrounded by neighbours that we know well so the whole thing is pretty secure, she should be quite safe.

I appreciate the advice, thank you. We'll have to re-assess for extreme temps, but will definitely buy her a coat for winter... I've even look at kennel heating!! Xx

eskimoflo · 10/06/2015 22:42

Aww, bless. If you need contacts for doggie pjs, just ask Wink

loopylou1984 · 11/06/2015 07:03

Dog pjs?! Whatever next!
Our house is really warm even in winter (we never use a winter duvet) so don't think she'll need them, but if I change my mind I know where to come!

Cd12, so might start to see a darker line on an opk today... Our plan for this last chance cycle is at least every other day up to positive opk and then every day until I see a temp rise. No bum pillow, just at least 20 minutes of laying flat. I'm on the grapefruit juice (bleughh)! Xx

Pikz · 11/06/2015 07:18

Doggie pjs?!

Though my dsil has fleece jumpers for her dogs but they live in Canada

I love being 1dpo. Means you can breathe a bit!

chopsface · 11/06/2015 07:24

Puppies! Omg! Me and dh so want a dog but the kennels won't let us adopt because we are at work all day. When we've decided our working hours post babba we will seriously think about getting one. Then we can take it on beach camping holidays with us :-) Oh and nympho I've done the poo removing thing with my parents dog too, sheesh.

Hairstylisttoboris · 11/06/2015 07:31

Basil and milo are so cute, as is that tiny puppy sammy have you got a name yet?

Can I say I'm very pleased that we are not delving further into the visualisation stuff? I'm not good at that kind of thing. I'm kind of just focusing on getting the spermies into the right hole.

Well I've had a shit few days. DH was knocked off his bike by a crazy lady driver, he's ok fortunately but in pain. My best mate is pregnant again :( pleased for her obviously but made me cry buckets. Anyhow onwards and upwards....

loopylou1984 · 11/06/2015 07:36

Boris sorry for the best friend baby bomb :(.
No name yet, and we haven't actually chosen which one we're having but she's my favourite at the moment! Xx

loopylou1984 · 11/06/2015 07:37

Oh and your poor DH, hope he recovers soon. Did the drivers stop? Xx

Hairstylisttoboris · 11/06/2015 07:45

The driver stopped as did loads of witnesses, he should be absolutely fine.

Queenbee30 · 11/06/2015 07:49

boris your poor DH and you! Must have been scary. Glad lots of people were around. Hope they bloody well helped!

Sorry for the bf baby bomb.

I'll join you in misery corner - no bfp, no AF so in limbo. And three baby bombs including finding out a friend from uni is upduffed via fb. Lovely way to find out from a supposed close friend (admittedly less close than used to be but still..). Pass the gin, love.

Queenbee30 · 11/06/2015 07:52

Sorry I've not caught up - I can see lots about puppies (yay!) and lots about visualising ovaries (sceptical but whatever works for you Grin) eskimos post made me snort with giggles.

Love you all. I'm miserable. Dtd this morning to try and get my AF started (I don't know if this is a thing, but getting desperate)

bfps all round this cycle? Mine won't be due until late July at this rate - just in time for my birthday!

Hairstylisttoboris · 11/06/2015 08:07

Sorry you are still in limbo. That sucks.

ibeka · 11/06/2015 08:34

I think the chant worked, ladies...temp rise this morning. Not huge, but enough Smile Annoyingly, this means that next month I may well OV whilst on another DofE trip. So FX for this month!

Boris, sorry about DH. I hope he gets better quickly. Thank goodness it wasn't serious. DP's best friend got knocked off whilst going round a roundabout last year and broke his spine and his wrist. It was horrible but thankfully he is pretty much healed now.

megarobotdiscoparty · 11/06/2015 09:40

eskimo laughing myself to death at your couch potato ovaries, I think mine could do with a personal trainer too. Thank you for prompting me to google “dog pyjamas” last night, the results were delightful!

knickers hope you’ve got some sort of knitted, Bumsnet branded item to rest your bits on through your upcoming CoC season. No bum elevating, naturally, this is merely foof-soothing. Your dogs are beautiful scamps, I love them.

Sammy I am swooning over your pup, you must be giddy as a goat. When do you get to go visit next? Fx for a darkening line soon!
nympho your silly dog! Hope DH is on board with a few days cannon-loading to get a bigger whoosh.

Pixa go on, join the fur babies gang! DH and I got our rescue kitten when we got back off honeymoon and were feeling blue about still no BFP/no more wedding/no more lovely holiday. She was a tonic!

Chops too exciting – beach camping holidays sound pretty amazing too.

Boris oh no your poor DH! Hope he’s got some super duper painkillers? Sorry for the baby bomb too, it’s like the baby blitz around here at the moment Sad

Queen wot still no AF? Bahhh and boo (but hurrah for a potential birthday BFP!). Do you have many AF symptoms yet? Hope she doesn’t leave you hanging much longer.

Ibeka great news on the temp raise – can you sneak DH into your tent for a quick bit of under the canvas CoC?? Hope the weather holds for you. I have very fond memories of my own DofE –sacked it off after bronze though as I discovered cheap cider and boys--.

How is everyone else this fine morning? I’m collecting opks this week and it’s a run of 3 evap lines – boo! Cd13 today. No commiserations needed though – I have to keep reminding myself that if I do ov it will be late so not to get disappointed yet! Enjoying the extra dtd, it’s a rare event in our house so a lovely silver lining to ttc Grin

fififolle · 11/06/2015 09:51

Boris I hope your DH is ok, it sounds and awful shock.
I've learnt a lot about pyjama warring dogs now!

fififolle · 11/06/2015 09:51

*wearing!

DizzyNorthernBird · 11/06/2015 09:52

Morning!

sammy your puppy is gorrrrrrrgeous! wells up Grin. She'll be a huge distraction from ttc and time will fly by while you're busy with toilet training etc. I love puppies and miss my doggy so so much. I get to see her this weekend though as I'm going away with my parents and she's coming Smile. Can't wait for my furry loving lol. Loving basil and Milo too hopes!

eskimo that diagram you posted is really interesting, I had been wondering about how the sperms found the hole, I had no idea that both holes were erm, so well aligned! In my head it was like trying to hit a fly with a water pistol from 30 paces.....!

But when you think about it, looking at that diagram, rather than bum on pillow would it not be better to spend some time lying on back and then lying on your tummy....then anything trapped under the cervix can slowly dribble back over it on its way out?!! Confused Grin

fififolle · 11/06/2015 09:52

I caved in and tested! SmileSmileSmile

Bumsnet- you would be amazed at where we stick our thermometers to help us get our BFP's
loopylou1984 · 11/06/2015 09:57

I'm on my phone so will reply properly later, but just wanted to say congratulations to Fifi!! Xx

DizzyNorthernBird · 11/06/2015 09:58

I keep forgetting to ask, but where is glittery? Is she operating under an alias name now?
