Hi everyone,

Here's our shiny new thread continuing from the old 'who wants to buddy up' thread (sorry, don't know how to link). I'm sure some regulars will be along in a minute and also anyone else who is ttc and would like some company is very welcome to join- we're very friendly!

violet so with the cheapie hpts do you test every day like an opk? If you're going to test early you may as well start on Sun (10 dpo) but just prepare yourself that it's really early and so probably a bfn at that stage.

Haha our caffeine-free stint didn't last long did it!! Lols

no violet not tested yet....I'm too scared lol. think I may have to do it tho just so I can have a bit of a clearer picture of what's what x

Issie i guess that's probably what people do with them and why there's so many in a pack? I will try to hold out as long as I can as that's probably best, but don't know how that will go in reality. But overall I'm very torn about early testing, as its such a risky stage to be finding out, before AF even due.

I'm still not believing becoming pregnant is even a possibility, although it would appear that in my dreams I'm more accepting that it could happen. In my dream last night I found out I had a BFP twice, can't remember how I found out the first time, wasn't by testing or anything normal like that and the second time, was when a psychic told me, while I was asking her advice about keeping out of reach of these bad guys who were trying to capture me and my friends at a fruit concert yes a fruit concert???. In this dream I also ended up in a very small kitchen on top of a hill in the wilderness still hiding from the bad people who had pretended to be police officers to try to arrest my best friend while we were in our school assembly?????

Nicky can you not test but think of it as just excluding one possible explanation??

Wow trippy dreams violet...aren't vivid dreams another early pregnancy sign??

So OH unexpectedly came home from Brussels this evening so managed to get a 'one for luck' dtd in-yey! Think that's me done for this cycle, have done cd9,12,14, 16,17,18, 20. Fx! How's everyone else getting on?

I think I will test just to rule it out. I don't think for one minute I will get a bfp but hey ho x

violet i know the most sensible thing to do is wait until af due then if doesnt appear that morning test then. However if you are like me and can't think of anything much else then just do one each morn like you do opk. I just kept thinking probably too early but you never know!!

nicky sounds like implantation bleeding Are you testing in the morn? What cd are you now?

so tested this morning and bfn.....not too upset as I'm really not sure where I am in cycle. will just now see what happens. Altho I am sort of willing af to come so I know where I am and can concentrate on my next fertile days x

That sucks Nicky I know you were expecting it but it's still horrible to see a BFN so let yourself be a bit upset if you need to be. What day was your last AF and when are you expecting your next one? (sorry you've probably said previously) It's so frustrating when your cycles are all over the place isn't it.

Sorry Nicky at least you can rule that out now though. I hope you cycle settles down soon. It must be so hard to plan ttc with having weird irregular bleeding

Issie no our caffeine free status's didn't last long at all, but I'm sure we are no less likely to conceive this month for it! Oh some more of that dream came back to me. She was reading my palm and then she prodded me in the stomach and said "whats going on" or something like that then she said "it's a boy and he will be very expensive!" Random!

I'm OK. it's funny because I'm not too upset as I'm not sure if it's right time to test at all. had first bleed after pill then had another but then bled 2 weeks after again so I'm tad confused. hopefully all will settle soon.

violet, no, I had no pains from what I remember and certainly no implantation bleed. Did, though feel tired and sometimes feint.

I'm worried today because a child at work has a cold sore. He isn't a clean child and has been touching it all day/chewing fingers/chewing pens/chewing mimi-whiteboards.... Then, of course, the other 28 children use or touch what he has used or touched... I know it isn't as severe as herpes, but apparently the virus is dangerous in pregnancy. To top it off, the cleaners haven't cleaned my room today, and won't until Monday evening. I made I very clear to the parents that they needed to get it treated, but don't fancy working with him or in a germy classroom in the meantime.... Am I being neurotic?!

Choc I wouldn't be too worried. I know the cold sore virus is dangerous in pregnancy if you have never had it before because don't have the antibodies to it. But you could only catch the virus from the child by direct contact with the infected area. So if he kissed you on the lips or kissed/licked/bit you somewhere you had a break in the skin. So I'd put plasters on any little cuts you might have, just in case. You can't get it from things he has salivated on, as the virus cant live outside the human body.

Rubberduck the last cycle when I used clear blue opk's I had flashing smiley face's for four days before the fixed smiley! Keep dtd, the static smiley should be along soon!!

nicky, so sorry for the bfn. It can take a few months to adjust to coming off the pill, so please don't be disheartened

Sorry for my radio silence this week. Been super busy at work.
I also use my phone to check the threads as I don't want anything showing up elsewhere (internet history or pop ups etc). It's always me who forgets who said what!

I'm cd 15 today and have dtd a couple of times during the week. Staying with my parents this weekend so and according to one app my peak day is tomorrow (according to the other two apps it's Monday).
I can't convince my DH to dtd in my parent's house!!

mrs, any chance you can make like a rampant teenager and convince your parents to go out...or just dtd in the back of the car?!?

So 10dpo tomorrow, think its probably too soon to test still, but feel like I want to find out if I can know yet or not??? If that makes sense. Having 10 internet cheapies in a drawer is a bit too tempting. If I do test I'm expecting bfn, so wouldn't be getting my hopes up, I mean its 10dpo for christs sake!!! The ic's that i've got say they are 10miu/ml if that makes any difference to whether anyone thinks I should test or not. Thoughts....
