I think that's very true Nomio, I wonder if that is what my friend has. She does recognise people, but she hasn't got a foggiest who they are unless she sees them in the correct setting. So she could see a colleague at work on Monday and know exactly who they are, but if she bumps into them in the supermarket on Wednesday she will have no idea who they are.

Nomio230 · 28/05/2015 21:19

Sounds like it might well be, Pixa. It is a really interesting condition. Some people can't even tell males and females apart!

Mummyofonesofar · 28/05/2015 21:24

I struggle with the setting thing. Very confused if I see people in the wrong place. Say hello and it's only when I see then in the right place again that I realise who I saw.

lucieloos · 28/05/2015 21:40

Nomio the motility is graded A-D by speed of movement. A & B are the important ones. A is fast progressive, B is slow progressive, C is non progressive and D is immotile.

Your results are fine. The class A should be greater than 32% and A&B together should be more than 40%.

The morphology is slightly lower but if you have a retest that will probably be different again. We have found that morphology can vary a lot from month to month.

purdiepie · 28/05/2015 21:51

Nomio, yes, the morphology is low, but remember my DH was 3%. Six months later when he had to squit for the IVF clinic and after taking his wonder supps his morphology had risen to 21%. Sperm count had shot up from 16 million to 51 million. I found this for you, I hope it helps:

MOTILITY

'The World Health Organization has a value of 50% and this must be measured within 60 minutes of collection. WHO also has a parameter of vitality, with a lower reference limit of 60% live spermatozoa. A man can have a total number of sperm far over the limit of 20 million sperm cells per millilitre, but still have bad quality because too few of them are motile. However, if the sperm count is very high, then a low motility (for example, less than 60%) might not matter, because the fraction might still be more than 8 million per millilitre. The other way around, a man can have a sperm count far less than 20 million sperm cells per millilitre and still have good motility, if more than 60% of those observed sperm cells show good forward movement.

A more specified measure is motility grade, where the motility of sperm are divided into four different grades:

Grade a: Sperm with progressive motility. These are the strongest and swim fast in a straight line. Sometimes it is also denoted motility IV.
Grade b: (non-linear motility): These also move forward but tend to travel in a curved or crooked motion. Sometimes also denoted motility III.
Grade c: These have non-progressive motility because they do not move forward despite the fact that they move their tails. Sometimes also denoted motility II.
Grade d: These are immotile and fail to move at all. Sometimes also denoted motility I.'

I wonder if digits I-IV relate to your A-D but in a different order?

Ladies, thanks for asking, my second Hcg result is 566 so it has more than doubled. I am now going to retreat into the shadows of this thread but will be reading avidly and diving in whenever you ask for advice directly. I will always be here, and Lucie and Sammy, you must contact me at any time privately if you want my input. I will be with you all the way. I'm not leaving..I'm just shutting my trap.

I love you lot...I'll be reading and yelling my encouragement Thanks xxx

purdiepie · 28/05/2015 21:54

Crossed posts with you, JuicyLucie. Yours makes much more sense Smile

Rainy34 · 28/05/2015 21:55

Nomio230 · 28/05/2015 21:56

Thank you Lucie, that is really good to know. So, apart from the morphology, all of DHs results seem to be above average, which is amazing. I have looked into it tonight & found a lot of experts who say that morphology can vary even within the same sample, so I am not really worried.

When do you start on your next round of IVF?

megarobotdiscoparty · 28/05/2015 21:57

Congratulations purdie that's incredible news!! Must you really lurk in the shadows? Feels weird when you go all quiet Sad

Mummyofonesofar · 28/05/2015 22:00

Anyone know knows about mc, please explain if ttc straight away can offer a disadvantage if by any crazy chance we got a bfp straight away? Do I need an af to flush everything out after mc af or can we try straight away?

Woolly84 · 28/05/2015 22:01

Smiling at purdie's hcg result Grin yes! So happy for you SmileFlowers
Yes please don't abandon us!

rainy great news lovely!! Smile

Nomio230 · 28/05/2015 22:02

Cross posts, Purdie. Thanks for the info, that is really useful. I am going to get DH on supplements right away!

That is brilliant news about your HCG. Please keep us updated with all your news. I am super excited for you!

Pixa · 28/05/2015 22:06

Purdie, I am so so so chuffed for you! That's great news! Your story, much like some of the other preggos, gives us all so much hope. Wishing you all a very happy and healthy pregnancy!

megarobotdiscoparty · 28/05/2015 22:24

mummy there's absolutely no reason not to get a BFP on the WTF. Docs say it makes it harder to date the pregnancy but if you're tracking ovulation that's a non issue. MC association says no increased chance of a repeat. Go for it! You're more likely to get an accurate opk when your hcg levels are more or less back to normal though so you'll need to keep poas for a BFN. I think it is possible to ovulate with some hcg but twould need to be very low.

megarobotdiscoparty · 28/05/2015 22:27

(Careful too...I got a posi opk for only the second time ever on WTF and was giddy as a goat when I started getting serious pg symptoms - but it was merely the WTF playing merry hell with my mind! It does like to do that...)

lucieloos · 28/05/2015 22:27

Purdie, such great news on your hcg, brilliant numbers. I'm really pleased for you. Hope you don't disappear too much. I will still be posting on here during my next treatment and would be great if you were still around. Don't think anybody would want to see you leave.

Nomio I think I will be starting my medication around the 20th June and then back out to Czech the end of June so not too long to go! I'm just praying it works this time. Will be so hard to deal with another bfn.

loopylou1984 · 28/05/2015 22:33

I second what Lucie says! Don't go too far Purdie!

Mummy - keeping my fingers crossed for you for your wtf cycle Smile Xx

Nomio230 · 28/05/2015 22:39

That is exciting/scary, Lucie. I really hope it will be your lucky cycle.

Woolly, are you & DH sex addicts?!

lucieloos · 28/05/2015 22:44

Thanks nomio! I really hope so too. I just can't imagine how amazingly happy I would be. Life changing!

Nomio230 · 28/05/2015 22:47

Definitely! Enjoy the lie ins & nights out while you. Can!

Mummyofonesofar · 28/05/2015 22:56

Thanks Mega. Only got dual hormone cb opks which maybe aren't best as I'll use loads of my wtf is long. Will order some cheaply ics tomorrow. How often would you advise I test with them? My pregnancy ics will be here tomorrow so I can see when I get my bfn so we can start again. Thanks for hand holding.

frogbubbles · 28/05/2015 23:48

Have been feeling rather delicate all day. I went to a cocktail class last night drank 6 cocktails, plus a double G&T, and kirroyal mixed with spiced rum came home and cried and cried until I fell asleep. Feeling very emotional about mc and dates etc at the moment.

Sorry for the me me me post.

I hope everyone is ok, sending love to those who aren't.

Nomio230 · 28/05/2015 23:59

Awww, Frog, I am so sorry to hear that. we are all here for you if you need to talk.

I hope you feel a bit better tomorrow, gorgeous. X

DizzyMerry · 29/05/2015 00:06

Oh frog so sorry you're feeling down. Sending massive hugs your way. These moments are inevitable but do remember that although you will never forget, these dark feelings will pass. There is light at the end of this tunnel and it's not far now. You will get your sticky bean. It will be your turn soon Flowers

DizzyMerry · 29/05/2015 00:09

Haven't had much time tonight to spend on here so will catch up tomorrow.

Purdie so happy that your hcg levels have doubled. Please stay with us, you're needed on here.
