Sorry reni. Don't worry though - I've read all sorts of bollocks on the internet Smile.

PS. Just got home and AF got me. Day 25 of my cycle. Ho hum.

reni1 · 02/07/2015 12:23

Shame about AF, really.

ReallyNotAMorningPerson · 02/07/2015 18:39

Thanks reni

reni1 · 02/07/2015 21:57

Wine here too, really. Flourishing? AF stayed away (hopefully) or are you going to join us?

ReallyNotAMorningPerson · 02/07/2015 22:54

Yes Flourishing, it's not all bad. This Malbec tastes lovely!

Fridgedooropen · 03/07/2015 09:28

AF got me too. Sad Really got my hopes up but it's going to be Wine tonight here too..

ReallyNotAMorningPerson · 03/07/2015 09:41

Sorry fridge Sad

ReallyNotAMorningPerson · 03/07/2015 09:42

On the (slightly) funnier side, it looks like all of our AFs on the thread have synced, a bit like when you house share with other women! scrabbles around for lighter side

reni1 · 03/07/2015 09:45

True, cycles seem to synch, so we can be the booze cruise thread for a week, dtd for a week, followed by tww. Successes drop out, everybody else Wine .

ReallyNotAMorningPerson · 03/07/2015 09:48

I'm in! Grin

My contribution to the booze cruise is well underway, am going to a bday do tonight so I see half a bottle of white in my immediate future already Smile

FlourishingMrs · 04/07/2015 09:36

Hi ladies, been seeking out that Malbec, really lovely, maybe I will move to Argentina, day 3 and the witch seems to have left already.

So now that our cycles are in sync, what are why going to do different to keep the witch away in July?

FlourishingMrs · 04/07/2015 09:39

Meant to say what are we going to do different...

I might try SMEP. Fridge, my ov varies a lot, cd9-14, when should I start, cd6 or even earlier?

ReallyNotAMorningPerson · 04/07/2015 16:26

Hi flourishing glad you enjoyed the Wine.

I've been thinking about this a lot. I keep chatting about improving my diet but so far I've just failed month after month after month. I keep reading about how going low sugar and gluten free was the fertility breakthrough for loads of people, but I just haven't mustered the willpower to even give it a go for one month to see if it helps.

My periods have also just been really crap since coming off the pill 7 months ago (really light, days and days of spotting). So if I have got low progesterone issues, inositol is supposed to maybe help with that too, but not tried that properly either!

What about you guys?

ReallyNotAMorningPerson · 04/07/2015 16:27

What's SMEP *reni? (Meant to ask that before!)

reni1 · 04/07/2015 16:30

Sperm Meets Egg Plan. Sounds a bit twee, so people say SMEP. Basically DTD at certain days around ovulation, must Google details, forgot.

FlourishingMrs · 04/07/2015 16:46

spermmeetseggplan.com/ have a look, we have DTD according to this plan but no joy, although AF has been regular since feb (took Mirena out in Dec) she lasts only 2 days. I am sure it was 4 days before the hormones.

Really, I would not start any extreme diets like gluten free, if gluten was a contraceptive there would be no pregnanat people. I think a full balanced sensible diet is what required, not fads.

I am thinking to maybe cut down DTD, maybe there will be more swimmers, or maybe those soya things people talk about on here? maybe skip the gym in implantation week?

ReallyNotAMorningPerson · 04/07/2015 17:18

That's a good point about gluten not being a very good contraceptive! Smile

Thanks both I'll look at that website. Had a talk with my DH today. Out issue is definitely not too much DTD if you see what I mean.

Flourishing my AF was also much 'healthier' pre-hormones. About 5 days long. Now post-pill my AF is about a day, two if I'm lucky.

Reading that website will give me something new and positive to focus on though maybe, was starting to feel a bit lost.

ReallyNotAMorningPerson · 04/07/2015 17:19

Our issue, not out issue!

Fridgedooropen · 05/07/2015 07:56

For anyone who wants to try SMEP, it goes like this. DTD from day 8 onwards. Start checking for pre-ovulation hormone surge from day 10. Once you get a positive/peak OPK or whatever you use, do it 3 days in a row, skip the next day, then DTD once more the next day. (Acronyms end now..)

ReallyNotAMorningPerson · 05/07/2015 08:57

Thanks Fridge, I'll definitely be trying it! By DTD from Day 8 onwards though, do you mean every other day?

I can say now that DH would not manage every day Blush.

And just out of interest, post positive OPK, what's the rationale behind DTD three days, break, then one last day, do you know?

ReallyNotAMorningPerson · 05/07/2015 08:59

(Is that one last day just insurance I guess, and the break is to - well - give you a break to manage that one last time!)

Fridgedooropen · 05/07/2015 11:34

Sorry, yes, that's a typo! It should be DTD every other day starting from day 8, then go to 3 days in a row when you get a positive OPK. (Note: this can if you're unlucky result in 4 days in a row Shock)

The last day is about covering yourself in case your ovulation is late for some reason, I believe. I tried hard to cover this, even though I was tired by then, last few months as when we conceived DS I'd been really ill for a lot of the month and had only done it on days 18 and 21, yet somehow conceived Hmm so I can only assume that my body delayed ovulation that month because of my illness. So it can happen.

Fridgedooropen · 05/07/2015 11:36

The three days in a row is about maximising chances at peak fertility time. But if you're someone for whom it helps to have sperm waiting around for an egg, if you've been DTD every other day leading up to this then you've covered both bases. And yes, think the day off is to give you, him and his swimmers a breather before the final go!

FlourishingMrs · 08/07/2015 22:50

Hey ladies, are you ready for next week?
