Am Brooking like crazy for Imps and Keep.

I had an appointment with Mr Watts today. He said that he doesn't believe progesterone can cause a miscarriage and that he recommends I use it again for next BFP, plus the clexane because of the positive lupus anticoagulant test. He has also prescribed clomid which he said should reduce my cycle length, and might improve egg quality. He said if we want to ttc this month then we can, but can't take clomid until day 2 of next AF or MC. Has given me enough for 2 cycles and said can only have it for a max of 6 cycles. He said there is nothing else he can suggest apart from going to Coventry, but whilst clearly in support of the work they do, he said he felt it would be unlikely I would have high NK cells as I have already had 2 children. So just keep trying and hope that one sticks. Just struggling with positivity after losing the last 6.

Imps9 · 04/08/2015 05:55

Loopy correct me if I'm wrong but you've had 2 CS haven't you? Did the consultant say that there could be scarring which could cause MC?

keepitgoing · 04/08/2015 06:16

good luck loopy, are you going to TTC this month then? just as an aside, I took clomid for an iui cycle but they had to end up cancelling as my lining was too thin, this is a common side effect of clmod, but only lasts that one cycle iyswim. re the nk cells, I thought they can develop over time? far will know more

Morning brookers, goodness I am loving being back at home in my bed!

Imps that sounds amazing, you are heading for blastos yay!

solars hello my old mucker, due date is 24th November, time seems to be flying though! Hope is the little one? Tempted to go again?

loopy that all sounds positive. I thought NK cells can develop after successful pregnancies, in fact sometimes a first pregnancy or MC can trigger the immune response. It might be worth ruling out NK cells although the only thing they would do differently is to add steroids to your clexane and progesterone, perhaps you can convince your doctor to treat you empiricially?

keep when are you testing?

I am still debating birth options, I am reading quite a convincing book on hypno birthing which is convincing me I should go natural. Has anyone tried this?

keepitgoing · 04/08/2015 09:36

far I think hypnobirthing can help even if you choose drugs or a CS. I have friends while used it v positively in a range of situations. personally I hate the way people seem to think they've failed' if they need drugs, it's f*ing painful and as long as you're both OK who cares. I had an amazing birth with just g&a but would have had an epidural if I needed. I do think HB can be helpful in all births, so g for it!

I don't know when to test. otd is Tuesday, but 14dpo equivalent is sat. but I'm away sat-mon so testing might ruin my weekend. dh is ridiculous, it hadn't even crossed his mind we might test early Shock I don't think he'd worked out obsessed on the dates. men.

Imps I'm so pleased the embies are doing so well!!! Is ET tomorrow?

Keep, this part is torture! I think everyone tests early, which makes it a sensible thing to do in my book Wink

Loopy, I'm so sorry you are still not getting the answers you need. I also understood that NK cells could become a problem even if you've had babies already. I'm sure a few of the older brokers were in similar situations.

Far, glad you've settled in after your holiday. I hypnobirthed. It was the best thing I did. I loved giving birth. I just used my tens at home, then just the water when at the birthing unit. I also get annoyed that women think they have failed if they used medication. It's just not the case. But I also get annoyed at people who tell you not to bother with birth plans as they' go out the window'. I think if you have an idea of how you would like to birth, then you should go for it. As Keep said, I know people who used the techniques with epidurals and c-sections, it's not all about going drug free Smile

Solars, lovely!! How are you? How is A?

farfallarocks · 04/08/2015 13:30

Ohh keep men are just hilarious, I would say testing at 14dpo is hardly early, its spot on! I know I would test and then at least if BFN I would tuck into the wine pronto!

Thanks for that maybe and keep, do you have recommendations? I have the Katherine Graves book which is quite sensible and realistic but wondering whether I should do a course.

keepitgoing · 04/08/2015 15:23

sore boobs, it'll just be the progesterone though, I know that

Assuming I don't get a call which tells me that all of our embies have died, ET will be at 12.45. Hopefully Mr I will be able to make it - he has a job interview at 10am and will need to get from London to the clinic which will take about 90 mins! He would have rearranged the interview but already had to once as it was originally scheduled for EC day and today was the only available date for the interviewer.

Sore boobs Keep? Diffed.

keepitgoing · 05/08/2015 10:13

ooh big day for mrimps! impressed they changed his interview, that's a good sign x

I am PUPO! One top grade blasto transferred. Possibly 2 might make it to freezing quality - they will know tomorrow. Will be a bit disappointed if we have none frozen but there's not much we can do about that.

Pastamancer · 05/08/2015 13:35

Woohoo for PUPO Imps

Munxx · 05/08/2015 19:45

Hurrah imps oh I am brooking like anything for you and keep

Loopy I hope you get the answers you need soon

Hello to all brookers! I'll grab some squidges while I'm here x

Imps9 · 06/08/2015 09:02

Oh girls, I've been feeling thoroughly miserable since yesterday's ET. Just dreading the inevitable AF and corresponding sadness next week when once again we find ourselves without any prospect of being parents in the near future.

Sorry for being glum, but my brookiness was clearly left at the clinic.

Pastamancer · 06/08/2015 09:06

Well it's a good job we are all here brooking for you then Imps. Don't forget your hormones are all over the place which won't help how you feel I was a whinging PITA towards the end of my pregnancy

keepitgoing · 06/08/2015 09:37

imps no. this one will work, it will it will. are you at work today? when are you going to test? I am waiting until Monday, 11dp5dt, as we have a date night on Sunday and don't want to potentially be miserable
have you heard about your frosties?
did mrimps do OK at interview and make it to ET?

OP posts:
NoMaybeAboutIt · 06/08/2015 13:47

Imps, lovely. Keep is right. This WILL work. It is totally normal to be feeling like you are. There's so much resting on it. Please be kind to yourself. It's absolutely ok to not always put a brave face on. We are here to pick up the slack. Hope you also have a couple in the freezer for implette mark 2 Wink

GenericDietCola · 06/08/2015 18:50

Imps and keep, you are both pupo and you will both get agreeable pee sticks, I just KNOW it. Brooking.
