far once I get my surge it's 5 days later, they do it the morning of ET
how are you? big bump yet?

OP posts:
Loopyaboutmy2boys · 20/07/2015 22:12

Bleeding started this morning.

Far what sort of tests? I had what I believe were standard rmc tests, but wondering if anything else I can push for.

Imps9 · 21/07/2015 10:34

Just had my scan - it's not looking any better than last time at the moment. Grrrr why won't my ovaries respond? Annoying.

keepitgoing · 21/07/2015 11:35

how many follies imps? quality not quantity... are they changing your meds at all?

loopy there's a somewhat controversial theory over immunes, where women take prednisolene(steroids) after bfp to suppress immunes. trix did. there's a long running thread in conception, many have had multiple miscarriages. but many drs don't believe in it, I understand

no surge for me yet

OP posts:
Imps9 · 21/07/2015 12:05

I only have 3 at the 10mm mark - lots of others at 7-9mm, but I had those last time and they didn't ever progress to maturity. They may up my Gonal-F to 125 (I am currently on 112.5). It's annoying - they keep saying "Oooh but you're at risk of over-stimming" when quite clearly I'm not because fuck all is happening with my follies.

Sorry, bit annoyed today.

keepitgoing · 21/07/2015 12:22

get your fucking act together imps'follies! Wink

OP posts:
Imps9 · 21/07/2015 14:01

I've read your message out loud Keep and the follies have taken note. Possibly.

farfallarocks · 22/07/2015 09:30

loopy, as keep says there is a theory that Natural Killer Cells and Cytokines can prevent pregnancy or cause miscarriage. Your body has an inappropriate response to the embryo, sees it as a threat and attacks. The tests can be done privately in many places including the Care clinics, Zita West and lots of gynaes. In the USA it is now very accepted theory and there is a great tome of a book called 'Is your Body baby friendly which explains all the variance issues in a lot of detail. I had this issues as well as clotting problems, I specifically had anti-thyroid antibodies and my body attacked its own hormones and so did not product enough progesterone to sustain early pregnancies (I also had lots of chemical pregnancies). The treatment is steroids, aspirin, progesterone, steroids and sometimes an intralipid drip. In more extreme cases an IVIG drip.

I have had success on this treatment as have a number of friends after numerous MCs and 'normal' standard MC testing. I suspect as more research comes out there will be greater acceptance about these theories but at the moment they are controversial. I believe the only place testing this on the NHS is Professor Quenby a Coventry although some RMC clinics are prescribing the drug regime on an empirical basis.
there is also something called the Response Trial which is testing for something else, I am not sure what but there is a thread on here about it!

imps, come on those follies, you are on an incredibly low dose of stims, I know they are worried about overstimulating you due to your AMH but clearly that is less of concern now seeing how you have reacted. To give you an idea I was on 600 (!) although my AMH was very low but I would have thought they could start you off at 200-300?

keep hoping for a surge soon!

My bump is growing and feels much bigger than last time! All is well I believe and I get lots of kicks in the evening which is lovely. I am a bit nervous about the birth and still weighing up going for a c section as this baby could have haemophilia (I am a carrier) and I had shoulder dystocia last time, or trying to go as natural as possible and avoid the epidural that I think lead to all the problems last time. If only we had a crystal ball!

keepitgoing · 23/07/2015 09:32

far is your dh also a carrier? exciting to have a big bump Smile

still no surge, cd12 I want it tomorrow as then transfer would be Thursday and dh has a day off and could come too. brook brook. Friday he has kip, so can hardly bring her...

OP posts:
Imps9 · 23/07/2015 10:53

Just had scan - things looking okay but not a huge amount of growth. They'll prob up my Gonal-F to 175 or 200 from tonight. Hope so, as that'll feel like we're doing more to get things going. It's so frustrating - on paper I shouldn't be a problem!

keepitgoing · 23/07/2015 10:59

on paper neither should I, but there we go. there is more to us than meets the eye. brooking the higher dose helps. when might you EC be?

OP posts:
Imps9 · 23/07/2015 12:00

I like to think we're mysterious and complex Keep, rather than a problem!

Not sure on EC, next week some time. I raised the theory that because I ovulate late (day 18-20 usually) I maybe need to stim for longer as I must have slow ovaries. That theory wasn't completely discounted by the nurse so we shall see.

What is your diagnosis Keep? I forget, sorry.

keepitgoing · 23/07/2015 13:11

slow ovaries, quick brain, eh? Wink

no diagnosis, we are unexplained. dh had deformed but plentiful sperm at the start but they got better, nothing found with me, and ivf was textbook last time Hmm

you do icsi, right?

OP posts:
Imps9 · 23/07/2015 15:05

Yes to ICSI which is good. Last time out of 4 eggs, 3 were mature and all 3 fertilised - I can't be disappointed with a 75% and 100% success rate really. Only annoying thing is that they will only try to go to blasto stage if you have 5 embies still going at day 2 so we missed out on that last time. Their success rate with blasto is 49% and 33% with 2 day transfer so it would be good to get more eggs this time. But I'll take whatever comes and just brook no argument.

Imps9 · 23/07/2015 15:35

Hmmmmm just had a message from the nurse - they are not going to up my Gonal-F at this stage. Apparently my bloods are good and show that something's happening. But clearly not that much is happening as my follies are still so tiny and limited in number Hmm

keepitgoing · 24/07/2015 08:33

Am confused re surge. My normal opk (internet cheapie) was not positive, and the hospital one was pale at 5 mins but dark when I looked a bit later. So I don't know! Have brought another hospital one to work and will do it at 11. of course this is the month when it's not clear!!

imps Angry

OP posts:
keepitgoing · 24/07/2015 08:36

do you think they sell smiley opks in the hospital shop Hmm

OP posts:
Imps9 · 24/07/2015 09:04

I would hope they sell smiley OPKs in the shop - it's most important to know fo' sho' what the shizzle is and you can't get that certainty any other way.

Which means they probably won't.

First Cetrotide jab this morning (ovulation preventer). It's a burny little bugger that's for sure.

What are you all up to this weekend?

Far how do you know you're a hemophilia carrier? Am sure your bump is looking lovely :) Decided on names yet? I am

keepitgoing · 24/07/2015 09:19
