The Rules of Bumsnet

  1. Don't talk about Bumsnet
  2. Get the sperm in the hole
  3. Don't LPB. It's frowned upon.

No news here, 8dpo, zero symptoms to spot, not even sore boobs this time around but I can't remember whether they usually start hurting later on in my LP. I did wonder if I had excess saliva yesterday but haven't got this today. But is 8dpo too early for symptoms anyway?

DizzyNorthernBird · 05/05/2015 09:23

woo! 14dpo! Exciting times night! Any symptoms for you?

nightandthelight · 05/05/2015 09:30

Nothing out of the norm Dizzy :) I have sore boobs, nausea, back ache and fatigue but have learnt that I get those every cycle.

8dpo far too early to symptom spot :)

DizzyNorthernBird · 05/05/2015 09:59

Yeah I thought so. AF is due this weekend though which feels so close!

juneybean · 05/05/2015 10:24

Grin dizzy
How is sparkly?

DizzyMerry · 05/05/2015 10:45

Enjoy your hols spinning and chops.

Sammy I think that's a sensible move getting the HyCoSy sorted first. Good luck.

Night and Dizzy I'm keeping my fx firmly crossed for you.

Dizzy no symptoms can be a good thing.

10dpo and some cramping yesterday. Brown spotting and cramps at 8dpo. AF due Sunday according to FF which would make my cycle 27 days.

nightandthelight · 05/05/2015 10:47

Don't get excited for me ladies!

purdiepie · 05/05/2015 10:54

What's with plums?

DizzyN, yes I guess I'm halfway through! Today I actually helped someone by remotely accessing their pc and waffling loads of shite. Go me! Dizzy, did you read Liz Jones interviewed Paula Radcliffe pre motherhood and that she was terrified her running would preclude her ability to conceive. Apparently subfertility is a serious cause for concern among serious runners. I think you should slow it right down whilst ttc. What do you think? Perhaps it's only an issue if periods stop?

autonomousplum · 05/05/2015 10:58

what's with plums you say?
The title of my next book. Has to be.

juneybean · 05/05/2015 10:59

Are they hairy plums?

nightandthelight · 05/05/2015 10:59

Purdie I am starting to get my hopes up about this cycle, could you please bring me back down?

Yay for remote desktopping and solving a problem :)

DizzyNorthernBird · 05/05/2015 11:14

I didn't see that purdie, will google it and have a read! I'm under the impression that it's mainly a problem for runners with high mileage and yes, amenorrhea(?) is a problem for serious athletes. I only do between 20-30 miles per week and those ladies are doing way more than that, probably over 60. And I'm far from being underweight too (got a spare tyre after a lazy winter) Blush which is what causes the periods to stop.

I have wondered whether I should take it a bit easier though especially during tww, so have been shying away from interval training or sessions with significantly elevated heart rate during this time. Most of my running is at a steady slow pace though which my body is used to and I've read that as long as your body is used to an activity then it shouldn't cause problems.

Having said that I've got a 10k race tomorrow at 9dpo and I'm trying to decide whether to throw caution to the wind or not!

DizzyNorthernBird · 05/05/2015 11:16

ooh and congrats on helping someone purdie, hopefully that gave you a teeny bit of job satisfaction!

Woolly84 · 05/05/2015 11:54

Hello all, hope everyone had a nice long weekend.

spinners well jel of your hols - have a fantastic time!!

night ok I won't encourage you sneaks tests into night's handbag

dizzynorthern think 8 dpo is probably too early, implantation happens on average 7-9 dpo, once bean is burrowed in (I think it's actually a 2 stage process which I never knew!), it takes a few days for the HCG level to be enough to cause any symptoms, and many people don't get any until about 6 weeks anyway. Confusing as rising progesterone can cause the same symptoms for preg as for pre-AF Hmm Fx for you!

dizzym fx for you too!!

purds yay for helping someone!

Angry Pubes and Hairy Plums....what a classy bus we are! Grin

loopylou1984 · 05/05/2015 12:16

Hi all

I promise to read back and reply after work, but just an update to say I've booked my HyCoSy for Thursday at 12! I'm going to have to come back to work afterwards I think... Will that be ok? I'll only have to stay till 4.30.

The lady was lovely, she confirmed we can go back to the nhs, we just have to keep our September appointment and go along to that with our results. Xx

nightandthelight · 05/05/2015 12:22

Yay congrats Sammy! So glad things are moving forward :)

Queenbee30 · 05/05/2015 12:40

Great news Sammy!

autonomousplum · 05/05/2015 12:47

Yay sams.

You're all ruining things what with the hairy plums! Stop it immediately! Grin

Nomio230 · 05/05/2015 12:58

Good luck Sammy! I am slightly wary of you going back to work after though. My hycosy was relatively painless compared to some people, but I still couldn't have gone to work after. Is there any way you could get the time off?

Sparkly, you always say the loveliest things. Thank you. Flowers

Night, you have the patience of a saint! I would have POAS 4 days ago!

DaisyDuckSW15 · 05/05/2015 13:16

dizzynorthern, I started running in February so I'm only a beginner but I'm already totally addicted to parkrun and I've also entered a 10k race in July. I run about three times a week and swim once a week.
The way I look at it, it's really important to be healthy and fit but not do anything to excess. 10k isn't that far in the grand scheme of things. I think it's far better to be out exercising than not doing any at all.

Beansprout30 · 05/05/2015 13:27

Well done Sammy great news!

Interesting about the running. Ive always loved running and was doing about 7 milers 3-4 times a week but ive cut it right down and mainly stick to brisk walking or cycling now. I love running but I lose motivation if I can't put my all into a run but I was really concerned it might have been hindering our baby making efforts
