The Rules of Bumsnet

  1. Don't talk about Bumsnet
  2. Get the sperm in the hole
  3. Don't LPB. It's frowned upon.

Sorry for BFN nomio Flowers yes, on to next month with lots of positivity!

nightandthelight · 10/05/2015 15:53

I thought my IL were bad but am very grateful for then now I have heard about yours glittery! Luckily DH understands that I will not see Fil so that makes life much easier :)

nightandthelight · 10/05/2015 15:54

So sorry for BFN Nomio :( How is the IVF journey going?

Thanks woolly :) Hope your visit has gone well? Won't be long I am sure until you have some very exciting news for them!

ThePug · 10/05/2015 16:04

Yes ibeka you can definitely ovulate from same side in consecutive months.

Woolly sounds like the egg is about to drop. Plenty of swimmers in place to meet & greet it, I hope! We're off to Sardinia. DH's parents always hire a big villa somewhere for a couple of weeks and us and SiLs (plus nephew) pitch up at various times. They were thinking of Italy so I threw out the suggestion of Sardinia as fancied a bit of beach time and lo and behold they went with it. Fortunately my ILs are very lovely and not at all like poor Glittery's and we've had some fabulous holidays with them.

nomio Yes, was very odd squinting at the test strip in all different lights to make sure there wasn't even a hint of a line! I hope you will be in full health this month so will stand a much better chance Smile

Nomio230 · 10/05/2015 16:21

It is not going at the minute, Night!

Since we moved, we are having to go through all kinds of tests again before we can even be referred to the fertility specialist, who then has to refer us on to a hospital for IVF.

I am so incredibly fed up with it all. It is ridiculous that in a supposedly cash strapped NHS, we are having the same tests done repeatedly.

DH has an appointment for his SA on the 18th. Once the results are in, we can finally be referred.

I just wish we had the money to go privately. I need to start doing the lottery!

Sorry for the rant. Bet you wish you hadn't asked now!

I am so pleased you had a nice weekend with your parents. It sounds like they are starting to accept your choices in life. Smile

Woolly, sounds like that egg will be on its way soon. Yay!

glitteryflange · 10/05/2015 16:53

Ah thanks ladies for telling your stories on your IL's. Nomio exactly. I often encourage DH to say what he wants rather than the 'I don't mind whatever you want' programmed answers in his head. We will get there. I am happy with LC. Maybe one day they will realise we don't have to have the approval for everything. Here's to hoping.

That video on Facebook group really made me laugh. So accurate. Lol

glitteryflange · 10/05/2015 16:54

Sorry for the BFN Thanks xxx

spinningirl10 · 10/05/2015 16:54

Thanks ladies, it's so weird not having any tests to pee on, especially when I'm so late! Dp says I should wait a week to test!!!!! I've told him I want one tomorrow as I have 2 bottles of prosecco waiting to be drank and we're planning to go to the big water park and I want to know if it's safe to go on the rides or not. I have got my thermometer so I think I'll temp in the morning, I guess if it's high that would be a good sign.

Nomio, sorry for the bfn. Liking the positive thinking for next cycle.

Boris, hotel sounds fab, your boss sounds like a dick! Go and eat, make the most of the expenses Grin

Pug, Sardinia sounds like a lovely holiday. Pleased you have a blank per stick now. Fx you get a sticky BFP very soon.

Night, pleased the visit went well. Now you can relax and enjoy your evening.

Where is Sparkly? Hope you're ok.

We have sofas now and a TV! Also got a bed and bunks coming tomorrow for ds. Had fun at the auction yesterday and picked up some bargain bits.

nightandthelight · 10/05/2015 16:56

It is so frustrating nomio and such a waste :( fx things move a bit faster once you have actually been referred!

Nomio230 · 10/05/2015 16:57

Spinning, I want your life! Sunshine, new furniture, and a possible BFP!

Wait a week? Shock Men!

DizzyNorthernBird · 10/05/2015 17:46

spinning I'm excited for you being late! Smile

waves back at woolly Grin

Sorry for bfn nomio, but congrats pug for yours (how weird saying that lol)

I'm still a grumpy pants this evening. however....spinning if itchy legs is a symptom then what about itchy soles of the feet?! Mine are horrendous today! As soon as I got home I did the moonwalk barefooted across the carpet and oh! the relief! of course this has absolutely nothing to do with running in soaking wet trainers earlier on in the week

woodpigeon123 · 10/05/2015 18:09

ThePug - thank you for asking after me.... We're about to be on cycle 8, as I think this month is out as I ovulated early for some reason and we slightly missed the window.

Ugh! Hope all ok with you.... Exciting to have a holiday booked!

xxxx

woodpigeon123 · 10/05/2015 18:10

spinning.... Everything crossed!

loopylou1984 · 10/05/2015 18:29

Afternoon, hope everyone's had a lovely Sunday?

Pug - thanks for asking, yes I think they have gone now, I was spotting again last night but think that's gone too! Yay!

Boris - the hotel sounds amazing, hope you get time to enjoy it?

Ibeka - apparently it's a myth that you ov one side one month the other side the next, so yes totally possible to ov the same side as last month.

Night - glad you had a lovely time with your parents.

Nomio - I really sympathise with the speed (or lack of) of the nhs. Can you afford to pay for some of the tests privately to speed things up? Or would that not help with the speed of the IVF?

Spinning - I'm so excited for you. What cycle is this for you?

We started our dtdathon this morning, but am going to try for every other day unless we are really in the mood. To be honest I just want to get started on IVF now, I don't think it's going to happen any other way and I've come to terms with it. Xx

Rainy34 · 10/05/2015 18:34

Spinning I am so excited that you are late, lets hope it stays that way and your not able to drink that process for nine months!!

Purdie If only your mum had the money to send you off to have another try,

Glittery* your inlaws sound like an utter nightmare, I can only take so long with my oh family before they do my head in!!

Lovely to see you back Pixa this month we are not using opks, just doing it when we feel like it and kind of timing it to when we think, it certainly taking the stress out of it

ThePug · 10/05/2015 18:41

Glad to hear the side effects of the hywhatever have gone now sammy . What's the timetable for the private IVF try looking like? And have you researched where you'll go yet?

wood Are you charting / temping etc?

Anyone else think it's easier to DTD more now the days are getting longer and the weather better? Hopefully this will mean BFPs all round before long!

Dizzy As if running isn't bad enough, you did it with wet feet - you truly are crazy!! I did my first proper exercise since last summer yesterday as thought I should probably do something now while I can seeing as I have somehow put on 3kg Did one of the Xbox Fitness workouts which was pretty hardcore, managed to get a PB on points because I was trying so hard but today I am really feeling it Blush

spinning Have you bought a place over there or are you renting? Do you have space to host a Bumsnet summer holiday camp please?

purdiepie · 10/05/2015 18:44

GUESS WHO'S GOING TO PRAGUE TO GET 'EMSEL'S A BABBY or two ??!!

GrinGrinGrin

juneybean · 10/05/2015 18:47

Shock whaaat purdita ?!?! Explain!

OP posts:
loopylou1984 · 10/05/2015 18:55

Pug I'm not 100% on the timescale for private as I don't know what else they need to do/test before we start, but there is no wait time provately at our local clinic so I guess as soon as I'm at the right point in my cycle. Our local place is a CARE fertility one so I think we'll go there. Going abroad and saving the money would be good, but getting the time off would be difficult for dh and I need him there.

Purdey!!!!!!! What? How? So exciting!! Explain please? Xx

glitteryflange · 10/05/2015 18:58

Wahey! Purds! Tell! Tell! X

nightandthelight · 10/05/2015 18:58

Th'Eskimo, pa ha! You could say that Grin

Me [all nonchalant]: 'Dad, guess what mum said yesterday? She said she wished she could afford to send us to Prague for a sibling for Nancy.'
Dad: WHAT??! The turncoat! She said it were a reet bad idea 'cos of 'er 'ealth and you two on benefits and Michael's sciatica and you letting t'babby eat soil.'
Me [faux resigned; doleful]: 'Yeah well...doesn't matter, does it, cos she hasn't got the cash.'
Dad: 'Tell you what...do you want me to loan you the money?'
Me [faux indignant]: NO WAY! I'd rather be beholden to a bank than to y....'
Dad: 'Tell you what..'ow much is it these days? Still six grand?'
Me: [faux ambivalent]: 'Oh, I've no idea, Dad, I think so.'
Dad: 'Tell you what..'ow about I give you the money.'
Me: [faux outraged]: 'NO WAY! Not again..not a chance...you've already done enough financing our Nancy. We'll wait to see if we get pregnant naturally.'
Dad: 'You'll never get pregnant wi' them syringes! I've never 'eard owt like it! [sheepish] yer mum told me you were 'avin' problems in the bedroom department.'
Me [actually outraged but hiding it behind utter bastard joy]: 'Oh. Right. Well..it has been a worry, Dad, and I'm not getting any younger.'
Dad: 'Tell you what darlin'....book yer flights tomorra. Let's get t'ball rollin, sweet'art.'
