The Rules of Bumsnet

  1. Don't talk about Bumsnet
  2. Get the sperm in the hole
  3. Don't LPB. It's frowned upon.

ibeka double baby bomb that is shit!

night you aint out yet love! I've posted your epo hopefully you won't need them though!

purdiepie · 06/05/2015 13:27

How does handing money over to a gp for a private prescription qualify him as 'amazing'? Confused

Ibeka, there is nowt on your chart to indicate the need to start fretting. Dtd tonight though cos ewcm is always trying to tell us summat.

nightandthelight · 06/05/2015 13:43

Thanks so much bean! If I don't need them will pass them on :)

Mummyofonesofar · 06/05/2015 13:45

night you can save them and use them near the end of a pregnanyc to soften your cervix - cant remember if you eat them, insert them or both but they can be used!

nightandthelight · 06/05/2015 13:46

Gosh is that to bring on labour mummy?

nightandthelight · 06/05/2015 14:08

Nomio oh fellow veggie, what do you do about omega?

Mummyofonesofar · 06/05/2015 14:16

night it is meant to get you ready for labour I think so when you start dilating it is easier as your cervix is soft - something like that Hmm

autonomousplum · 06/05/2015 14:19

Ah, but purdie most gp's will just say no. Give it another month. Another two months. See if it settles. Try St Luteal's Wort.
It is very nice to get a sympathetic gp who doesn't dismiss your worries and actually spends time with you too. I don't mind. For me at least spending £15 for the prog private prescription rather than £8-odd on nhs prescription is not a big deal. It is a very big deal for others I know, so maybe in that case it would not be an amazing result, but it made me feel much more positive than previously. I love ending up with a gp that at least gives a semblance of caring. Smile

autonomousplum · 06/05/2015 14:24

Speaking of prepping your cervix, I got an optional injection to help soften it once I went into labour. Fwiw. Seems simpler than remembering your omegas!
There is also the whole stretching your hoohah in prep so you're less likely to tear. Fun days! I was very lax and never did it though. Was lucky enough not to tear though phew

Nomio230 · 06/05/2015 14:25

Night, I used to take Vertese omega capsules, but it says they are not suitable for TTC or pregnancy, so now I don't take anything & just hope for the best! Probably not the best strategy. Blush

nightandthelight · 06/05/2015 14:29

Thanks nomio :) I was taking the boots veggie omega but doc said that wasn't good so stopped. Have just done some research and it looks as though algal oil is the safe way! Is that something I can check with a pharmacist do you think? Don't want to make an appt with GP to check!

Mummyofonesofar · 06/05/2015 14:33

auto stretching your hoohah?? What is this madness??!!

Nomio230 · 06/05/2015 14:35

Oooh, I will look into that, Night. I would imagine a pharmacist should be able to advise you.

I don't like the sound of hoohah stretching. Shock

nightandthelight · 06/05/2015 14:38

Will pop into boots later and check for us nomio before we go buying anything :)

My hoohah is crying at the thought of stretching!

Nomio230 · 06/05/2015 14:41

I just looked it up quickly Night, and they seem to be safe during pregnancy. They are not cheap though. About £14 for a month's supply.

Mummyofonesofar · 06/05/2015 14:43

I don't understand what it might entail - shoving a wine bottle up there a'la Kinga-from-BB?! The whole idea of stretching anything unless I have to makes me feel a bit ill!!

DizzyNorthernBird · 06/05/2015 14:43

I also didn't know about hoohah stretching! So much to learn! I don't like the sound of tearing much.......but if it's as simple as doing stretches surely everyone would do them and no one would tear?

Thanks ibeka for the reassurance. The weather outside is horrendous and Silverstone is obvs in a windy location. I doubt I'll be going very fast tonight with a headwind to contend with Confused

Friend thinks baby will be late....due next Friday but she hasn't dropped yet and only 3/5ths engaged whatever that means. C'mon baby!!

nightandthelight · 06/05/2015 14:44

Gosh, this TTC business is not cheap nomio! I guess I can't really scrimp on my baby's brain though Hmm

DizzyNorthernBird · 06/05/2015 14:45

Ha ha mummy my ears immediately pricked up at the thought of stretches

autonomousplum · 06/05/2015 14:46

Hah hah hah! Yes!
m.wikihow.com/Do-Perineal-Massage

Mummyofonesofar · 06/05/2015 14:49

auto When I read about perineal massage when I was pregnant with DS I literally thought it meant massaging the bit between your hoohah and bum - I didn't realise it involved inserting thumbs and dragging it about!! I didn't bother with it last time and did tear a bit but no stitches - though maybe should have had them as I bled for quite a few months afterwards on opening my bowels Blush

Nomio230 · 06/05/2015 14:51

The thought of tearing during birth terrifies me. In fact, the whole giving birth thing scares me silly!

nightandthelight · 06/05/2015 14:51

Do I not need to go to pharmacist then nomio and just order over internet? They do look safe from what I have read including a clinical trial of how beneficial they are in pregnancy :)

frogbubbles · 06/05/2015 14:51

DizzyNB that sounds awesome and so much fun, I say go for it, but if it starts to get too much you can always stop. Hope you've had a lovely time with your friend

Dizzy no idea how a wonky fanjo will affect things, hopefully it won't Smile

Mummy I don't check my cervix it's a pain in the ass and hides up to the left, it's hard to find it. Makes smears etc, more difficult! My doc said they are suppose to tilt slightly forward. But she could be wrong.

Thanks for the heads up night, I'll try laying flat next time and see what happens. Wooly I will see what MrF thinks to a bit of doggy style hee hee I'm sure he won't complain.

Thank you Nom, Ibeka. I'm with you on the cervix prodding. I have no idea what I'm poking, or what it should feel like. I'm not changing my name to wonkyfanny ha ha!!!

autonomousplum · 06/05/2015 14:56
