Pug nothing to report on knicker watch!

Oysterbabe · 29/03/2015 16:22

Juney I'm 13DPO.

dojo123 · 29/03/2015 16:22

Afternoon.

Sneaking on here as parents are still with us until tomorrow morning. Had another fake G&T at lunch (DH went and ordered the drinks at the bar so we got away with it) have also decanted all my decaf tea into my tea caddy (I drink earl grey and nobody else does) so it looks like I'm drinking the normal stuff. Mum and Dad are getting switched on to the food and drink avoidance now that my brothers OHs are pg so me and DH are having to be on guard or play dumb " no, I didn't know you shouldn't drink too much caffeine, eat liver, drink like a fish! "

Haven't POAS yet but then I'm only 10dpo. I'm going to wait until at least Thursday.

Cramping has gone but still have the bloating. Sticky cm still present.
Did have a slight temp dip this morning but as I am still using a normal ridiculous ear thermometer this cycle I don't know how accurate it is.

Hope you're all having lovely Sundays and I look forward to seeing loads of BFPs at the POAS party tomorrow morning.

mrsb0710 · 29/03/2015 16:38

Hello ladies...I'm still in bed, and definitely not because we've been dtdSad

I too shall dust off my pom poms for you all in the POAS party tomorrow.

purds !!! ?? Cautiously optimistic for you.

Off to find some nourishment make dh heat up some soup

cremedecacao · 29/03/2015 16:56

BabyBumpHopeful · 29/03/2015 16:57

Ahh, the "how to tell your family you're pregnant" conundrum.

I'm an immigrant so my parents are in another country, not together, and I'm currently estranged from my mother. I have 2 siblings who I'm close enough to that I will call and tell them one after the other, or in Viber group chat I'll post a photo of a positive test or something like that. They'll tell their friends and all of that which I'm fine with 'cause it's in another country. I'll just restrict FB congrats till a lot of people know.

My DH's parents are in the same town as us and we're not emotionally close to his siblings (no hate, just not close) however we occasionally (as in once every 3 months or something) have "family events" so I'm hoping to time the announcement with one of those. I have no faith in their ability to keep a secret (they're all gossip mongers), so once they know we'll have to dash off (or call) to tell the other family members.

I will call/email/text/FB a few select friends first (people who know we're TTC for example) as well as those I know would be hurt they didn't know before the FB announcement... but announcing on FB as it's the easiest way for people I know to know all at once and not feel left out. No-one on my FB isn't my friend in real life, or someone I wouldn't want to know. I don't add people just because I went to school with them, or know them in passing. Friends/family only.

Of course nothing ever goes to plan but I do at least have a list of people I should make sure know before any FB announcement so I don't forget in all the excitement :)

frogbubbles · 29/03/2015 17:00

That is interesting Pixa, I think we have a works near us to. Bonus!! What a toughie with your sis, it will be hard for her but I'm sure she will come round when she has a lovely little Neice/Nephew to spoil. It's a hard situation but you have to put yourself first.

Night. Hey Hey, twice in one day go you!! As for the baby bomb - boo. I usually see a scan picture on my feed saying "me and whateverhisname are preggers. Yay look at our picture and see how amazing we are!!" I had a good friend cull after seeing a few of those.

Juney Parkin is the way forward, you cant beat it. As for the super donor holy cow, 50 babies that is some super sperms. Like everyone else has said maybe try outside the 50mile radius for someone similar?

frogbubbles · 29/03/2015 17:03

Mrsb do you have a spare set of Pom Poms so I can join you in cheering everyone else on??

Juney, yes! Brazil nuts! What do we do with them?? I have purchased a bag today.

loopylou1984 · 29/03/2015 17:06

Night - good going Wink

Juney - yes dominos is expensive, but it had a £10 off code so got small pizza, chicken strippers, potato wedges and chocolate dough balls all for £11!
Temp is high still, but not unusual for me this time of month... Don't get excited yet. Xx

mrsb0710 · 29/03/2015 17:10

frog I'm sure I can make something for you. Hot pink?

Brazil nuts - just eat 'em!

wotsits1 · 29/03/2015 17:11

Just jumping in to agree muchly with the Facebook pregnancy posts. ARGH! And I hate it when they then change their profile pic to their scan pic.

No. Just no.

frogbubbles · 29/03/2015 17:14

Ooh Mrsb go on then I don't mind a bit of fuschia!

Wasn't there an allowance on how many nuts you should eat per day? Or shall I just scoff the whole bag?

mrsb0710 · 29/03/2015 17:16

I'm not sure what we'll do about a bfp announcement. The first time, we told family and close friends, and then had to tell them about the mc. But, we had tremendous support from.those who really cared.
Next time around, I probably will do the same, I want to enjoy every single moment of my pregnancy, and I'm not afraid/ashamed to share :)

Pixa · 29/03/2015 17:17

I thought a standard serving of nuts was 1oz? I weigh all of the nuts at the beginning of the week into 1oz portions. Blush I might need to double check - I have no clue for Brazil nuts.

mrsb0710 · 29/03/2015 17:17

frog I think someone mentioned a possible level of toxicity. But I'm sure you'd have to eat a load each and everyday for that to happen, otherwise they wouldn't be allowed to sell them.

spinningirl10 · 29/03/2015 17:22

I haven't read back but while I've been decorating I've been thinking about Juney and the supersperm donor. I guess this mans convenient because of location but could you look for someone elsewhere in this country and then book into a hotel close to him for a couple of nights to be able to get the sperm and AI?

Mummyofonesofar · 29/03/2015 17:24

For telling people, we want DS to be the first to know but don't want the risks of mc to be high when we tell him. Not sure we will manage all the way til the first scan but will try. Then once he knows we can tell family, then friends who know we are ttc. Then I do want to tell fb. As I moved away from home there are friends I have drifted from due to distance but that I know will be ecstatic that we are pregnant. We had a great holiday shoot and there was a picture of us 3 that could easily be turned into a pregnancy announcement picture. Please don't all hate me!

juneybean · 29/03/2015 17:29

Aww thank you spinning for thinking of me, unfortunately it's impossible to take time off work :( and my cycle is so unpredictable anyways that everything is so last minute I do need a local donor. Superdonor is tempting... but if I can bear it, maybe I'll take April to consider my options!

spinningirl10 · 29/03/2015 17:43

Ah Juney, I thought that may be difficult to put into action. I suppose with the super sperm donor you have to decide if it would matter to you if the child was to meet a half brother or sister down the line. If you only have the one they might quite like it.

Pixa, it's tough with your sister but I don't think it's fair of her to think that you should put your life on hold until she meets someone and gets pregnant, that could be a good few years away.
I have a similar situation with my sis. She is 40 later this year and only a year ago decided to try for a baby but she hasn't had a period for about 2 years. Anyway she had a couple of appointments at the hospital and they gave her one course of tablets to bring on af, they didn't work. They offered them other options but she's decided to remain childless. Because of this and after a little time I told her that we were trying. Her response was 'what at your age?' Hmm She hasn't mentioned it since and if that was her reaction I dread to think what others will say should I get my bfp.

ThePug · 29/03/2015 17:44

I have no idea about these things Juney, how long do you have between the sample being provided and needing to AI it (providing it is fresh and not frozen like your DHL-ed ones)?

Can you find a slightly further afield donor to have on standby in case your peak time happens to coincide with a day off (you must have some days off!)?

juneybean · 29/03/2015 17:47

Pug at most 30 minutes I reckon but obviously with every passing minute some of the little swimmers are dying.

Need to have a think!

ThePug · 29/03/2015 17:56

Oh crikey, not much of a window then! I can see why that makes it so difficult.

spinningirl10 · 29/03/2015 18:15

Oh and thank you Juney, not much banoffee left, dd just popped home and ate a huge sliceSmile

Mummyofonesofar · 29/03/2015 18:39

Anyone on CB trial have a constant urge to open the days pee pot so you can dip a stick or just me? Hmm

Just had my friend over who is newly pg and who knows we are ttc. Would be lovely to be pg together.....

Mummyofonesofar · 29/03/2015 18:42

Just saw this on fb. Pregnancy however announced should not be a joke!
