You know the drill by now ...

Rules of Entry - must be over 30, TTC no. 1 for over a year, be suitably evil and Hag like, willing to shout Cunt at the moon on regular occasions, consume extra gin when our fellow hags are unable to, and to get the nipple tassles out for any successful Hag ...

and now we've been trained by the government in our new MI5 roles, we are likely to get a little Ninja on your ass if you babydust round here ...

No admittance without a complete BESHtionnaire - see below.

Blue My friend's husband had pretty low sperm count, morphology and motility were ok I think. They won their gorgeous baby on their second IUI.

Don't despair, hag!!

Fabuluce · 25/03/2015 13:55

Erica my understanding is that the general rule of thumb is to use ov sticks for a few months so you have a good idea of your monthly cycle and then step away from them as they will drive you mad and do sechsing every other day (or every 2-3 days if that's too much!)from the end of your period until after your general ov date. This stops the menkul from being too crazy and gets you into a routine of having more relaxed sex regularly rather than the now now now that you can get with the sticks. A bit late now but maybe that's something you could try next month if it hasn't worked this month? And remember that sperm can hang around for a surprising amount of time inside you!

Erica panic yee not. Swimmers can hang around for anything up to 7 days, so you've not 'missed' anything. Also, the sticks detect the LH surge preceeding ov, not ov itself, which comes around 36 hours later.
I echo the suggestion to not use them every cycle, just two or three times to see the pattern then cover the bases with eod for a week around the right time.

EricaJ · 25/03/2015 15:32

Ok, so I rang customer service. They were very nice.

They said that it is very possible that urine concentration is not high enough in the middle of the day to pick up a LH result so it's likely I haven't 'peaked' yet and I will get my 'peak' tomorrow in which case we should seks tomorrow/Friday.

But there is a chance my LH peak happened in between tests so I may be ovulating now, in which case we should seks tonight and test again tomorrow.

Mmmhh... Logical, right? May have been able to figure it out myself if I wasn't panicking.

Welcome back to TTC, Erica!!!

EricaJ · 25/03/2015 15:34

Thanks hags! You are awesome!

No, I won't use them next cycle. I know I ovulate around day 14-16, I am just torturing myself here!

How are you feeling now Barking?

barkingtreefrog · 25/03/2015 16:20

Step away from the opks Erica, stop torturing yourself!!

Nauseous and still crampy here. Pain way more manageable than this morning but still constantly aware of it. Hurts if I get up and move around. Haven't worked from home today, just answered a few emails. Napped on and off. Got acupuncture in an hour, was going to cancel then I figured she might be able to help!! A mate is going to give me a lift there and then DCW will pick me up afterwards, so I don't have to drive.
This had better fucking work, I've put myself through enough now! Really, really hoping for good news tomorrow morning because the thought of them saying the quality isn't great and they need to fiddle around up there again tomorrow to do a 3 day transfer instead is really not something I want to contemplate.

barkingtreefrog · 25/03/2015 17:07

Got to the acupuncture place 15 minutes early and there's a fucking massive bump in the very small waiting room. Angry Angry Angry Angry

And it had the cheek to smile at me. And now she's chatting about the pregnancy with someone else and complaining that she can't find any form of exercise that doesn't hurt somewhere. Is it considered rude to shut 'Shut the fuck up I don't want to hear it.'??

Blue2014 · 25/03/2015 18:56

Not at all rude barking - shout away

Mother just told me in passing about the people she's told about my babybee making troubles - why would she talk to people about this ? Why why why?? (I have a wonderful mum by the way, so it's out of character) - I hate that my babybee making abilities has become everyone's business - stay out of my fucking business!

Back later to read posts properly - just popped on for a whinge

Blue2014 · 25/03/2015 20:51

Thanks for the spaff advice lovely wonderful hard as nails hags.

Barking how are you since the woo?

Erica we only secx on ov days and it's been a disaster for our sex life, I'd take the hags advice if I were you.

So I ovulate in the next few days - considering we are both feeling pretty fucking miserable (for non ttc reasons) and now knowing the poor count. Do we do it or give it a miss for yet another month

OP posts:
barkingtreefrog · 25/03/2015 21:04

Don't lose hope Blue, if you get on with the secx there's still a chance, it's different swimmers after all. If you don't have any secx, well that only worked out for the virgin Mary and that story didn't sound like the easy option if I'm honest.

I'm still in a lot of fucking pain. The paracetamol isn't doing much. The woo seemed to help while I was there, but it's worn off now Sad . 3 days out of the office now and work is piling up Confused . Why wasn't I even warned it could be this horrible?!

Playing my hypno while in bed but the bedroom windows are open and there's noise outside. It hurts too much to get out of bed and shut them Angry .

TheRainDrops · 25/03/2015 23:35

lovely barking, get dcw out of bed to shut the window. you need your rest, sorry you're still feeling rubbish. it will all be worth it when you get that win!

blue, I'd say don't force it if you're both feeling down unless you can get those issues out of the way first. ttc sechsing is bad enough without other emotions getting in the way. try not to beat yourself up if you're not feeling up to it

Erica I used to have a cbfm and it nearly drove me insane. everyone else speaks wisely, don't let those damn sticks rule your life!Smile

barkingtreefrog · 26/03/2015 04:15

rain DCW was still downstairs watching TV!!

I've been awake since 3am and the pain is not getting better. I don't remember any other BESH whinging this much, do I just need to man up?! Blush

What Bugs said Barking. I had a fair amount of pain for the first one but the second and third not so much at all, and they were all totally manageable. The amount of pain you are in seems excessive. Definitely call again.

cherrycoconut · 26/03/2015 08:09

Soz hags, missing in action in an effort to keep as chilled as possible. I've given up with the resting. It makes my stress levels soar, so a gentlle schedule of social engagements, horse time, dog walking, pub quizzing with friends, plenty of yoga etc. and staying away from the tinterweb is the order of the day.

Barking that does not sound normal my lovely, can you get an apt to go back to the clinic for an assessment? You're exactly the wussy paranoid sort. What did your acu lady say? Any news on the embies?

Blue and Erica I'm not the hag to ask about ov as I never knowingly have since TTC. Bit of a deal breaker, ahem, but at this point I'm not envying the stress and the obligation sechsing. Blue I would have a go if you can but not push it if it's not happening.

Blue my mother did that too with some family friends and I was livid - I heard it back from my mum's friend's daughter after I made a very general comment alluding to some health problems, to which she retorted 'Oh I know, we were discussing it the other day, I'm so sad for you.' Say whaaaat! I can't say it has enhanced our mother daughter relationship or my ability to share information...

Erica the pineapple is still in the fruit basket... I am going to do something with it today!

barkingtreefrog · 26/03/2015 08:29

I don't have any of the symptoms of OHSS and the nurse said yesterday it wasn't unusual to be in pain. She said if it became unmanageable they would admit me to the ward so I could get some stronger pain relief but that was all they'd do. The trouble is I can't take codine so I'm stuck with just paracetamol. I've had about 4 hours sleep but I've come to work as it's all mounting up and I need to try and get on top of it. I've got my wheat bag clutched to my stomach and I'm hoping being busy will take my mind off the pain.
I've spoken to a couple of people who have said they were still bent double a couple of days later and still sore after that, so it's not just me.
chez is there a typo in your post or did you just call me wussy and paranoid? Shock Say what you think why don't you. How rude Wink.

EricaJ · 26/03/2015 08:43

Barking Sorry you are in pain, hag. Must say your '...If you don't have any secx, well that only worked out for the virgin Mary and that story didn't sound like the easy option if I'm honest.' comment made me laugh

Chez I feel you.I have fond memories of our (failed) IUIs because at least we didn't have to stress about having sex. Ie: 'What do you mean you want to play rugby tonight? No, you must come home and fuck me!'. It's so romantic (not).

Blue Toe squeezes to you. It's so hard. But like the others say, do join me in the anxiety cycle, if you can!

Hags, thanks for the sanity dose yesterday. OPKs are indeed a headfuck. Thankfully, they've now been rendered useless after Barking threw rotting fish at them :)

cherrycoconut · 26/03/2015 08:47

Ooopsie, well spotted... meant to say 'not exactly', damn it, you're our GI Jane Barking! (Love that film.)

So does this mean you're on for a 5dt? If so this is excellent news. In the meantime I hope the pain subsides soon. I can't believe you're in work but then I really am a wuss!

barkingtreefrog · 26/03/2015 09:02

Quick update. 6 embryos still going but only 4 look ok, and of those 2 are stronger. They are hoping that one or two of the stronger two get to blastocyst on Saturday. Egg transfer is at 11 on Saturday, they'll call first thing Saturday morning to tell us what the embryos are looking like.

cherrycoconut · 26/03/2015 09:29

Great news Barking! Are you TX one and hoping at least another for the freezer?

EricaJ · 26/03/2015 09:33

Great news Barking!!

TheRainDrops · 26/03/2015 09:40

great news barking! COE!!!

ugh I an absolutely hanging this morning - out 'entertaining' clients last night. I haven't really drunk much since starting my diet, just the odd g&t here and there. only had about half a bottle of wine last night but I feel awful. not helped by being stuck on the most ramajam train every this morning and billing into random old acquaintance who insisted on chatting. save me someone!!! Sad

barkingtreefrog · 26/03/2015 09:45

Yes chez, hopefully. I'm suddenly feeling quite negative about it all, like they're going to call on Saturday morning and say neither of those two made it after all Confused.

Fabuluce · 26/03/2015 10:16

That's understandable Barking - it's a very weird time between EC and ET. I've never been able to go that far and have only done 3 day transfers at best but every day you get the news it's yay, still surviving, go embies! And then shit but what if, what if, what if. The menkul is a bitch. That's why we're all here to cheer you and the embies on Hag. Go Barking, go embies! COE!!

Chez it sounds like you're doing extraordinarily well Hag, good for you SmileSmileSmile

Rain, would you like a sick bag??
