Immune / natural killer cell treatment when ttc or pregnant (aka the 15th pred thread)

This is a thread for those diagnosed with high or very high natural killer cells and trying to concieve or are pregnant and taking steroids/intralipids etc

Newcomers very welcome

Tryingno1 (30 yrs old)- 3 mc. Ttc since April 2012. 5.5 weeks, 9 weeks, 6.5 weeks. High nk cells. pa1 mutation. C4/m2 mutation. Hla dq match and low LAD. (Last ones done by ivf clinic) pred and intralipds. Along with asprin, clexane, metformin, hydroxy. discovered low sperm count. Starting first ivf injection in 1/2 weeks.

3rd Trimester
Hopender- (38 yrs old) 7 miscarriages, one DS, Was on pred, cycolgest, baby aspirin and intralipids. Now only baby aspirin! (29 wks)

1st trimester
Rosa (39yrs) - 3 MMC
(11.5, 6.5, 7.5). 6 months ttc on treatment. On complex programme for high NK, cytokines and thyroid antibodies (hydroxy, pred, intralipids)- had allergy to Humira. Also on SO programme. (8wks)

TTC
Sunnyday (32 yrs)- high nk cells - hydroxy, pred intralipids - 3 mc (1 on treatment) also doing super ovulation - round 1 (got bpf on round 5 last time)

Drttc- (28 yrs old) 3 MCS (6 wks, 4wks 2 days, 5.5 weeks), very high NKC on complex treatment plan: hydroxy 2x day, 25 mg pred from ovulation, add cyclogest on bfp & Intralipids every 4 wks until 16 wks. Testing on May 28th.

lilliesandchocolate (32) 1 mc, 1dc, 5mc, 2nd dc on pred and cyclogest and the vitamins, 1mc. pred,cyclogest,intripalids and the vitamins.

Rosa, it would be a dream to join you at the end of the month! I can't believe you're already at 10 wks?! And you lucky thing going in for the harmony scan... SO EXCITING! Love this :) I looked up that scan the other day and it's about £500 isn't it? Wayyy too expensive for us considering we'll need to pay for Intralipids, but who knows.... In the excitement of selling my old flat I may 'misplace' £500 or so ;)

Has anyone ever followed TTCers on Instagram? I can't decide if this branches into 'unhealthy obsession' :-/

Drttc - it is £500 in Edin.. £450 with Mr S and Spire up here is £700! It's cheaper and quicker for me to get done here as no travel. It's meant to be so accurate it's almost as good as a diagnostic so will (I so hope!) give reassurance - but extremely nervous result could be bad. We can't afford any of this anymore but just throwing everything at it and not going on hols etc helps. Hope you find a way too when it's time x

Ps I can.. This has been the looooongest 10 weeks ever.. Ever day feels like a week! Think the next 2 2/12 (assuming things ok) will feel like 6 months. It's funny how we all go through the same time but it can feel so different depending on what's happening in your life !

In 7 weeks tomorrow Drttc. And I can totally confirm that time is going soooo slow!! I'm living my life wishing the week away! I just want it to be Thursday so I know where I am with the scan... Praying, crossing fingers, talking to the bean trying to encourage it! I'm losing he plot!

We've also just though sod it with regards to the cost of everything. It's so bloody expensive but we'll figure it all out! What's £500 for the harmony when you've just spent thousands getting to this point!

Hula I get heavier boobs about 6days post ovulation till AF comes. I used to think it was a BFP sign but never was! My first bFp boobs were painful rather than heavy/swollen.

Found an app where u can tick off and add all ur drugs! Was worried I would forget my drugs as when af arrives I'll be on 9 diff drugs minus the vitamins !!!

This ivf crap is really hard on relationships, Me and dH r mega strong (touch wood, please don't change!) but we been bickering recently. In 5 years of marriage I can count my bickers on one hand. Oh well, only a few more weeks to go! We both know are stress levels r slightly hugher so just rolling with it and accepting the stress! I hope he's willing to do this again if it fails

Trying - you have to remind him what the drugs to you.. So he can know (without telling you in the moment) that it's not really you sometimes when moods get extreme. And thank him lots for looking after you - my DH is a legend but says least he can do given what I'm going through. But also had more moments than usual because it is just relentlessly tough. Of course you know all that, just empathising really. Hang in there. Let's hope we keep the positive momentum of this thread going x

Just got a BFP on a test! I can't believe it! I'm scared, excited, shocked, worried about my holiday in 3 weeks etc etc

Only been on hydroxy and nothing else and I can't get hold of louise at the moment! I need a prescription for pred as only got 1 days worth!

Oh and no symptoms at all!

Well after dh supposed low sperm result, Dr s advised that he needed to do a test in 2 months time after taking some tablets to see if it improves. He saud to stop all the drugs to give myself a break and also to concentrate on loosing weight and getting healthy etc. I decided to take hydroxy still as you have to take it for 6 weeks for it to be in your system do thought no point stopping as in 8 weeks they could say try again, then would need to wait another 6 weeks whilst I started taking it!

I'm on day 32, I did a test last week and it was negative, realised today that period was late but as had bo symptoms didn't think I was pregnant - did a test this morning but line was so feint I didn't know so did another digi test this afternoon and got pregnant 1-2!

Still can't believe it! I'm scared I have no symptoms and can't blame the pred!

Wow really interesting about the advice you got, Sunny. So no prenatals either? Good call staying on the hydroxy though! I've read it can take a longggg time before it's properly in your system so no point in stopping whatsoever.

Weird the digi came out but then the other was faint. Which brand was the faint one?

I think a while ago you had mentioned not being convinced your husband had low sperm count? I think this substantiates that!

Oh yes was on my vits but not pred for ov or aspirin, or my super ov drugs! It was a tesco own brand one - dudnt want to pay out when I thought it would be a bfn. I am worried it was feint though as May mean it's weak.

Wow, sunny, so excited for you!! The supermarket ones always came up as faint for me too at the start and I'm now 30 weeks. How many days past ovulation are you?

I don't know! I dont use ov predictor kits and not doing SO meant I had no idea!

Sounds like you're in a good position meds wise, sunny. As you know, loads of people start pred later. Currently I'm not taking pred after ovulation either!

If you're interested you could call the company to ask for sensitivity... I did that once lol. It took like 2 minutes! I think digital is 50 sensitivity?

Lol - not sure I'd do that! The tesco one must be crap! I'm just worried I haven't picked it up earlier. My main worries at the moment are

1. Not discovered early enough to get maximum drugs in me
2. Feint test means it's not strong enough
3. Literally no symptoms!
4. Going on holiday to Turkey in 3 weeks - worried that flight might trigger something
