Massive post alert - went out one evening and missed 6 pages!

Purdey What a awful lot for your DSS go through by age 10! I did chuckle at your foot in mouth moment.

My middle name is Beatrice which I love bit people pronounce it Beatrix which annoys me. My Sons name is Leo. I hate any other boy name so god knows what I'm going to do if we have a boy. I did like Lilly for a girl but OH used to call girl parts that when he was little.

Kissing election Haha!

sparkly I made pasta a couple of months back, surprised at how easy (if not time consuming) it was and so much tastier than the dried stuff. Off to a wedding in Umbria next year. Have never been to Italy and very excited. And by then we will have another tot to enjoy it with!

twinkle congratulations!!! Good clear line there.

victoria401 · 08/02/2015 09:23

Looks like a bfp to me twinkle! Congrats!

Morning everyone, I've had a lie in til 9am! Shock

PurdeyBirdie · 08/02/2015 09:24

Just found this: 'The chance of conception in a healthy, young couple is about 20 per cent per month, so a delay of three to six months before conceiving is not unusual.^

I would go further than that and say it is not usual for a couple to conceive in the first three months. They are just lucky with greater-than-average sperm.

PurdeyBirdie · 08/02/2015 09:25

Oh, Twinks, how marvellous! Can we have your stats, please? Thanks

MaMaPo · 08/02/2015 09:26

Twinkle! BFP AHOY! Massive grin for you. What a way to start the day!

Purdey - enough sex this cycle I think, though there could always be more - 5 times leading up to ov but perhaps overshooting it slightly (pun intended) due to not being 100% sure of my ov date. At least 3 well-timed goes though. But I just have a sinking feeling which I think is related to the beginning of investigations - I am just assuming that I will be off to get my day 2 bloods on around Wednesday this week. (A side note - why do you get day 3 bloods in the UK but day 2 here?)

spinningirl10 · 08/02/2015 09:28

Blondie, sorry af arrived Thanks

Twinkle, congratulations to youGrin

Victoria, yay for lie in! I was up early to take photos of the waves at high tide Smile

mummyofonesofar · 08/02/2015 09:29

Oh and the big rise I thought I would get today didn't happen sadly. Plus DS came in too early and I spoke to him and tossed and turned before I remembered I should have temped.

nightandthelight · 08/02/2015 09:35

Congrats Twinkle what wonderful news :)

nightandthelight · 08/02/2015 09:37

A couple of people have now joined the March bus prematurely and then got their bfps. Might I suggest you all sign up for the March bus and then watch the bfps roll in!

loopylou1984 · 08/02/2015 09:45

I'm on the March bus.... Hope it works it's magic! X

victoria401 · 08/02/2015 09:47

MaMaPo about day 3 bloods. I was told by my doc to have it taken any day between 2 and 5 so I guess we just call it day 3 as an average? How long u been ttc hun?

spinning is photography your thang! I'm just getting into it :-) as a future childless old hag hobby

Giddymamma · 08/02/2015 09:51

Excellent news twinkle toes! Cake

Twinkletoes007 · 08/02/2015 09:54

Thank you all so much. My chart was a shambles so I wouldn't read too much into it - I think my poor and erratic temping may have confused FF - you will see that FF reckons I ov'd 3 days after first pos OPK but I'm not sure about that..we didn't really target the fertile window if that is right.

Since ov every day I have had cramps and bloatedness that I always get 4 days before AF. That did seen odd to me. It was this nagging feeling that was always there. Also I have not fancied red wine - I drink A LOT of the stuff but had no interest the last week. On Friday I felt a bit sick on the way to work but thought it was just hunger. Felt sick this morning too. Sore and fuller boobs (mine are like gnat bites) last few days but no diff from pre AF. There was a bit of brown when I wiped today which is what I get 3 days before AF - this is why I'm not getting too excited. Cm wise it's generally been creamy since ov and I don't think it has been like that before but I couldn't say for definite. For me the main symptom has been the bloatedness and gassing! I got hammered on Friday and feeling very guilty now.

This was cycle 1 and I'm 31.
I'm staying on the bus for now if that is ok. You are all lovely and I don't want to go. Wishing you all lots of luck and hoping we all have BFPs very soon.

Yaaaaaaay well done twinkle Flowers Cake

australopithecus · 08/02/2015 10:05

Yay bfps!
Boo AFs!

MaMaPo · 08/02/2015 10:10

Twinkle, another lucky chart. Don't worry too much about having drunk since ov - I got quite drunk on a holiday to Istanbul while I was in the TWW with my last BFP and my daughter is a cherub! As long as you curtail the red wine from here on in you'll be fine.

Victoria, that makes sense, thanks. We've been TTC since May but I have short cycles so it's been 12-13 cycles. With my daughter I conceived in cycle 2.

kissinggiraffe · 08/02/2015 10:17

Well done twinkle . Don't feel guilty about the drink, you didn't know you would get a bfp and it's really not healthy to put your life on hold 'just in case'. With both of my girls before I knew I was pregnant I got more drunk than I ever have before and they are both wonderfully normal so it can't have done them much harm Smile

Cd 25 (I think, maybe 24.......or 26) and all my usual lovely pmt symptoms have arrived so it's a dead cert that af is on the way.

whoknew28 · 08/02/2015 10:21

Huge congrats twinkle! Yay!Flowers

Well... Worried sick that my squinter yesterday morning was a figment of a tired, baby-obsessed brain, but it seems not! Actual visible line today! Holy crap! Grin

ibeka · 08/02/2015 10:23

twinkletoeshooray! I'm so please for you after your feeling glum yesterday...

Loving all the name chat. mummy Beatrice is my middle name too! Hated it as a kid but like it now, it's def a contender for a middle name of any future dd.

Whoever said Iris, Ivy and Audrey, I really love those names!

night I have a lovely friend called Aneurin (Nye). I also love Talliesin for a welsh boy... Unfortunately my Celtic streak isn't from Wales so I couldn't really use either!

giddy Humphrey is my wonderful godfather so for me it is a name of warmth and comfort...

dojo123 · 08/02/2015 10:25

twinkle and whoknew massive congrats. Flowers

nightandthelight · 08/02/2015 10:26

I love that name too ibeka but DH vetoed it :) think it sounds like a girls name! I love Aneurin as a name and also as a homage to the great Nye Bevan.

juneybean · 08/02/2015 10:35

Yay for BFPs!!! Great news Grin

I ended up taking this mornings temp at 4.30am... the pressure of temping is making me wake up regularly.

eskimolaura · 08/02/2015 10:42

ibeka that was me. :) I also really like Ernest as a boy's name. It's my dad's middle name.

So, cd17 for me. We have dtd cd10, cd12, cd14, cd15 and cd16, and we're going to get one in today and tomorrow, although my 'sexy' feelings were peak yesterday and seem to have gone away today. Just feeling really lazy!

Congratulations twinkle and whoknew!!

Watched the spermy vid last night. I take back what I said about the little swimmers simply waiting around in the tubes. They are clearly fighting for their lives. purdey, when I read your comment about the tiny amount that manage to reach the egg, I did think that they must be the crème de la crème of the sperm community, but who knows, maybe they're just lucky little bastards?

Cariad2014 · 08/02/2015 10:56

Huge congratulations Twinkle - I really wouldn't worry about Friday night. Here's to a very happy and healthy nine months.

I know that impending sense of AF doom only too well MaMaPo. Loving the idea of buying all the ingredients for a fab G&T. Here's hoping this is your cycle. P.s. Any chance I can pop round for Sunday lunch at yours one day - sounds delicious!

10dpo at this end but I'm desperate not to test until Wednesday. My only unusual symptoms so far have been having to get out of the bath last night as I was far too hot (and then spending the next 30 minutes trying to cool myself down as the heat was making me feel nauseous) and 2 minutes of stabbing pains under my belly button just as I was drifting off to sleep last night - felt as though someone was jabbing me with a needle from the inside.
