It is very long and boring siarie! I was in 3 days before going into labor, but you have shown some signs of your body being ready so hopefully it will go quicker Smile

And I forgot to say... 10lb??!!?!? ShockShockShockShockShockShockShockShockShock

LuluJakey1 · 08/04/2015 13:41

Ooh it could all be happening here today....or tomorrow Smile . 2 babies about to be on their way. I asked DS if he remembered being born but he just smiled at me and grabbed my ear.

Sairie, I can't get over 10lb. I so hope she isn't that big- for your sake.

Cupcake92 · 08/04/2015 14:28

So exciting!! Grin can't wait for all these babies!!
I'll be the last one to give birth won't i?

I think your the most recent BFP cupcake Smile did you say you wanted a water birth?

Next time I really really want a water birth with just g&a Grin

lillamyy1 · 08/04/2015 17:39

So, scan showed that my baby is also 10lbs!!!!!!! Shock Shock Shock
But they might be wrong of course. The midwife couldn't do the sweep because it reeeeeeeally hurt and my cervix was too high Sad I'm so disappointed, I really thought today was the day Sad I really can't understand why it was so painful just having a finger in my fanjo Confused It has been out of use for a vey long time though, and maybe I've been doing too many kegals Hmm And maybe I was really tense? I didn't think I was, but I must have been. I've never, ever had a problem being examined down there before Confused Sad
Anyway, they booked me in for induction on Friday, which I just kind of accepted at the tie because I was so upset/shocked at the discomfort of trying to do the sweep, but then when I'd gone away I thought about it and I rang back to talk it through. They said they only booked one because I'd been in with reduced movements, not because he's so big. And that since there's nothing else wrong that if I'm happy with his movements now then I don't have to have the induction, as it's preferable to wait to go into labour naturally.
It's such a hard decision, because from a purely selfish point of view, I just want the pregnancy discomfort to be over and to meet my baby. But I also don't want to force him out if he's not ready, and he's been moving fine today, so I'm not really worried about his little lazy spells.
I'd also rather wait and try to go into labour naturally so I can have a water birth in the MLU.
I think I'm going to wait until after the weekend (providing his movements are still good) and then maybe try and have another sweep. I'll have to try to seduce DP in the hope I can get back into practise having some 'downstairs attention' Confused

Ducky23 · 08/04/2015 17:44

No lil it's not just you, sweeps are awful almost as bad as having your waters broke Confused I had a high cervix too. It was very painful. Maybe see if they will give you g&a for a sweep if it's at the hospital?

lillamyy1 · 08/04/2015 18:13

It'll be at the gp if I have another next week. Did it work when they did yours?

Ducky23 · 08/04/2015 18:21

I don't think so, I got stuck at 2 cm and they broke my waters Confused

Ducky23 · 08/04/2015 21:44

Sorry lil, just realised that didn't sound very good. I think mine didn't do much because my body wasn't ready to go into labor. I went on the drip in the end, so it could work for you. Smile

lillamyy1 · 08/04/2015 21:48

Haha that's ok Smile Well I've decided against the induction for now because they said my body won't be ready for labour either. Just ordered a very hot curry Grin
I think if I do have to have the sweep at the gp I'll take some codeine beforehand Smile

lillamyy1 · 08/04/2015 21:49

Was the drip horrid, Ducky? I heard it makes you have very bad contractions really suddenly so can be a shock. I can't remember how you said your induction experience was overall?

Ducky23 · 08/04/2015 22:08

Well my plan for ds was an induction with pessaries then a peaceful water birth! It didn't go like that.

I basically had the pessary and started having contractions, got to 2cm, because I was already having contractions they couldn't give me another pessary so did a sweep, got to just over 2cm and had my waters broke then nothing, so they put me on the drip. I was advised to have an epidural beforehand which I had, then it stopped working after not very long, I don't think the drip is as bad as people make it out to be, the gas and air was fab Grin

The other thing about inductions is they stuck you on the monitors every couple of hours. I didn't sleep well Friday night as I was anxious, went to hospital Saturday morning, slept about 2 hours that night, then up then another hour because of monitoring and contractions, didn't sleep at all Sunday because I was in full blown labor and then got about 2 hours Monday as ds was here! Shock

Cupcake92 · 08/04/2015 22:47

Lill I had a pessary too and that brought on contractions but I wouldn't dilate past a 1cm! Hahaa!! Grin any who they broke my waters then Hmm which I rele don't think they should have and I was moved to a delivery room and put on a drip.....
Now.... I went into natural labour at 32
weeks which was stopped but the contractions from natural labour were 100 times worse than my induction/drip!!!! Omg my natural was so much more painful!
Induction I could handle fine lol Grin
I wish they had just put me straight on a drip tbh. Would have been so much easier.

Oh and I agree with Ducky, the gas and air is amazingggggggggg!!!!! Grin I'd like the same as what Ducky wants next, a water birth with just gas and air. I think that would be heaven! :)

Siarie how are u doing ?

OP posts:
lillamyy1 · 09/04/2015 00:08

Thanks Ducky and Cupcake, that makes me feel a lot less scared about the possibility of having to be induced Smile Apart from the lack of sleep Ducky Hmm
Yes, I hope Siarie is getting on OK!

Ducky23 · 09/04/2015 02:53

Ha had to check in when doing the night feed to see if there's any news from siarie Grin

Bearsinmotion · 09/04/2015 03:43

Me too Ducky Grin

Bearsinmotion · 09/04/2015 03:47

lill, I had a couple of sweeps with DD before she was induced and the first one hurt a lot but later ones were fine. I think different midwives have different techniques and some hurt more than others!

DS has a really bad hacking cough :(. Although he's currently wriggling away happily looking at his fairy lights Hmm. I think it bothers me more than him!

Ducky23 · 09/04/2015 07:37

Oh bears I hope he feels better soon! It's awful when they are ill isn't it Hmm d has had that cough with a slight cold, it's only just starting to go after just over a week but he's got better with his coughing now he's a bit older, his first one was awful Confused

Cupcake92 · 09/04/2015 07:42

Oh no poor ds's with coughs :( I always panicked when DS had a cough incase he was sick cuz he usually did that lol.

Aw I was hoping for a Siarie update! Maybe everythings going so well she's in labour right now! :)

OP posts:
Ducky23 · 09/04/2015 09:21

My ds was doing that when it was at it's worst, he was coughing so much he would heave then be sick Confused

I took him to the drs the other day after I noticed some patches on his skin, turns out he has eczema Hmm apparently it's common with his cmpi but I feel so sorry for him. He has been through so much Hmm

I think lulu asked (maybe?) or someone did, what cmpi is, it's cows milk protein intolerance. Ds was having big allergic reactions every time he ate, it caused bloody poo, a huge rash all over his body, reflux and stomach cramps which meant he was in pain after he ate so he would eat more to try and ease the pain which make it worse, that is why he was eating every hour. He's now on prescription milk which has the milk protein in it but it is so broken down his body doesn't recognise it.

Siarie · 09/04/2015 14:31

Sorry ladies, update time. I've had such a crap 24hrs. I've been in so much pain and couldn't have anything that stopped it until I got to 3/4cm dilated.

My waters just went aix hours after the second gel. The midwife says its the hind ones but She couldn't believe how much came out. I've gone through half a pack of the hospital bed pads. Since then the contractions hardly hurt at all. I truly think the pressure of all the water was causing me such pain.

Waiting for the doctor now while I continue to leak out lol

Ducky23 · 09/04/2015 14:44

Oh wow siarie Grin so glad things have star

Ducky23 · 09/04/2015 14:45

Ds decided to post that before I could finish!

So glad things have started! Hopefully you will have your baby in your arms soon Grin

Siarie · 09/04/2015 14:54

I know, I was at the point where if something hadn't of happened I was going to beg for a c section.

Never underestimate the difference of having too much fluid. One of the night midwives was so rude and patronising like I was just over reacting to the pain.
