dojo I shocked and sad for you. It looks like you've had a chemical and I would go and report that to the GP. This would explain why your temps are still up Thanks

PurdeyBirdie · 02/02/2015 08:57

pikz that is really impressive. Agnus Castus works for sure. Any side effects?

DizzyNorthernBird · 02/02/2015 08:57

dojo sorry you're in such a confusing situation, hope you get some clarity soon Flowers

Feeling rather left out now being back at the beginning CD2 with full on AF. I hate the wait between AF and fertile week.

Anyone due to poas today?

loopylou1984 · 02/02/2015 09:02

Dizzy - we're cycle twins, I'm cd2 too! Xx

Wishing123 · 02/02/2015 09:10

Sorry about your bfn dojo ??
I had stomach cramps lastnight n went bed with a hot water bottle but woke with no pains..if AF was coming Id rather her be on time so doesn't get your hopes up!

DizzyNorthernBird · 02/02/2015 09:30

Hi sammy! Phew I feel better knowing I'm not the only one then! My bfp isn't due until 7th March and it feels a bit weird thinking we're only two days into feb and I'm already thinking about 2ww and testing yet it's over a month away! The first couple of buses I followed I was one of the last ladies standing! See you on March bus lol.

TakesTwoToTango · 02/02/2015 09:30

Oh dojo, I'm sorry you're in limbo. I'd second the recommendation for the first response tests. I'm about to go and buy some for my early (night out induced) poas-ing tomorrow morning. Not getting my hopes up here though as I have no symptoms that would make me think we've been successful this month. The hope is always there though...

victoria401 · 02/02/2015 09:45

Sorry for bfn dojo :-(

Everything crossed for you wishing as fellow 'hubby with crap sperm' person x

This month decided not to opk and no idea what's going on! Usually get distinct ov pain which has been bang on regular for at least the past 6 or 7 months. This month I've been getting odd twinges on random days and early ewcm. Cd15 now and just don't know if its happened yet or not and when to expect af!

mummyofonesofar · 02/02/2015 09:55

Dojo, sorry you're waiting now. Was so excited by a cycle 1 BFP - gives me hope for a lucky one too. Correct me if I am wrong and it is not cycle 1!?

This bus moves so quickly!

Hi everyone!

DizzyNorthernBird · 02/02/2015 09:59

Can I ask a stupid question about temping?

I know from what's been discussed here that temps are affected by illness or drinking etc, but what about room/bed temperatures?

I have a very heavy duvet, which means some nights I'll be pulling the duvet on and off all night. Some nights I'm fine. Will this affect my bbt?

Feeling very silly Blush sorry for the daft question!!

TheSortingCat · 02/02/2015 10:03

Oh dojo, I wonder if it is a chemical pregnancy? I think 'false' positives are quite unlikely so it may be best to pop to the GP to see what they think.

Hope you're ok.

I'm struggling to keep up - this bus is racing along in the fast lane!

We have started dtd every other day. We plan to do this until temps indicate ov has happened.

crazypuglady · 02/02/2015 10:20

Thanks twinke and purdey. The last few days I've been randomly waking up at about 5am, checking the time and going back to sleep before waking up at 7.30 as normal and taking my temp. My chart is looking a bit odd but from what you've said I should probably take them with a pinch of salt.

crazypuglady · 02/02/2015 10:22

dizzy I thought that the other day so watching for an answer Grin

mustbemad71 · 02/02/2015 10:28

Dojo you poor thing - how upsetting. I wonder if the tests you used today just aren't as sensitive as the CBs you initially used? If you tried another CB and that was negative you could more safely assume that it was a chemical. Hugs to you. x

blondiewoowoo1 · 02/02/2015 10:46

Quick question ladies - does anyone know if you can take Amoxicillin when ttc? Ive been given a prescription this morning for it but forgot to ask Dr and there was a lady I knew in the pharmacy when collecting it so didn't want to ask then.

PurdeyBirdie · 02/02/2015 10:52

Dizzy, not really. Only electric blankets cause a significant change in body temp. Here's what FF says:

What factors influence my basal body temperature (BBT)?

'There are certain factors that can influence your basal body temperature. These should be noted in the notes section of Fertility Friend or checked on the checklist/specifics on the data entry page.

These factors will usually not make charting and chart analysis impossible, especially if they occur only rarely, though it may be more challenging. In most cases, even when these factors apply on an ongoing basis, they will not skew your data so much that reading the chart is impossible. It is important to make a note of the factors, however to help with the interpretation of the chart. The following factors may influence your BBT:

fever
illness and infections (even those that do not produce a fever)
cold, sore throat
drugs and medications
alcohol (especially in large quantities, though all alcohol consumption should be recorded)
smoking (if you smoke, you should consider quitting before you are even pregnant)
emotional stress
physical stress
excitement
sleep disturbances (insomnia, night-waking, upsetting dreams, poor sleep)
change in waking time
jet lag
travel
change of climate
use of electric blanket
change of room temperature
recently discontinuing birth control pills
breastfeeding'

loopylou1984 · 02/02/2015 11:13

Hi Dizzy, my bfp would be due 1st March so I've decided to hang around here as well in case of a short cycle.

With regard to temping and room temperature, I hold the thermometer in my mouth for 15 seconds before I turn it on so that room temperature doesn't effect the start point... Not sure if it's necessary though?

I've not noticed a difference due to being in or out of the cover. Xx

DizzyNorthernBird · 02/02/2015 11:55

Thanks ladies!

WinterBabyof89 · 02/02/2015 12:07

dojo Flowers xx

dojo123 · 02/02/2015 12:28

Thank you all. It's been a pretty crappy morning after such a positive weekend.

I've booked an appt with docs for first thing Wednesday which will be a week after my AF was predicted.
The only reason i'm holding on to a thread of hope that it is not a CP is that I still haven't had any showing, spotting or any sign that AF is about to start.

I was planning on popping out and getting a couple FRERs but the DH has said he would like me to leave it until we've seen the doc. He is worried that we are spending unnecessary money on additional tests and that I'm getting myself worked up/stressed which might encourage a CP/MC if I am pregnant.

So I will just sit here quietly until I know a little more. Sad Might go and get myself some cake Cake

browneyedgirl86 · 02/02/2015 12:48

Hi everyone

Well my AF arrived with a vengeance this morning so I'm hopping off sadly.

Good luck to everyone!

Sparkly123 · 02/02/2015 12:51

Oh Dojo so sorry, I have been In a similar limbo situation so I completely understsnd and I'm sure Wednesday feels like forever away. Try and keep as calm as you possibly can and focus your mind on a positive outcome. Like you say, you haven't had any spotting etc and the test today may just have been too high a sensitivity in testing hcg in contrast to your other one. Everyone has everything crossed for you and sending Flowers oh and lots of cake Cake

raviolig · 02/02/2015 12:52

Hello, newbie joining in.
I have just come off the pill, af started Saturday. Not sure how quickly I can expect to get back to normal after the pill, but I was I only on it for a month and a half so hoping I will get back to normal ASAP. This will be ttc for number 3 as I have a 5 and 3 year old ready. It took us 13 months first time ttc then 4 second time, so who knows this time. Feeling nervous and excited to start.

Hairstylisttoboris · 02/02/2015 12:57

blondie sorry I don't know, does the pamphlet in with the tablets say if there is a risk?

dojo how confusing for you. X

nightandthelight · 02/02/2015 13:00

Blondie according to the internet it's perfectly safe and routinely prescribed in pregnancy. Said the same of my antivirals though and I was told to wait a month :( can you ring your pharmacy?
