Second cycle of trying...sort of. Tried at beginning of jan but missed ovulation as was at the end of dec. Period due 6th feb.

Am impatient. Want to take a test, but know its just a waste of money!

Congrats sarkymare... Exciting.

Frantasic · 01/02/2015 05:49

Looks like AF has arrived, I'm out. :/

cremedecacao · 01/02/2015 13:14

Sorry Frantastic :( good luck for next month Flowers x

potatopal · 01/02/2015 17:22

First proper try and I'm trying to be strong! Really shouldn't be focussing on every twinge but I am!Left hand side low down and it's fluttery twinge, barely there. I'm craving potatoes more than ever and white bread, naans, toast. Carb central. But, I'm a piggy when it comes to food so prob means nothing.
So strategies to cope with the wait until after Feb 5th (unless AF comes).. keep distracted with yoga, friends and family, work obvs, cleaning the house, going on this forum, watching repeats of Father Ted.
Things to focus on in case AF comes - treating myself to one glass of red wine. And researching holiday destinations in case we ever get the chance to have Winter Sun..
Other distraction tips girls?

cremedecacao · 01/02/2015 17:42

No, but I need some too :( work days are fine, but I am so miserable this weekend! Partly hormones (hoping pregnancy and not AF related...) but partly being fed up of waiting. Just want to skip forward 5 days!

MillieMoodle · 01/02/2015 17:51

Hi all, I took my last pill on 3rd Jan and not sure how long my cycles are. Pre-pill I had 35 day cycles but when DS was conceived I had a strong bfp on cd32. Current cd27. Tested about a million times over the last week and bfns every time. Thought I saw a faint line yesterday but nothing since so I was definitely imagining it! I've had painful nipples (yesterday), cramps last week and some pink-tinged cm (sorry if tmi!), plus nausea on and off, light headedness and very vivid dreams. Driving myself crazy at the moment! Help! Smile

cremedecacao · 01/02/2015 20:53

TMI, but my cervix is medium-high, soft and wet at 8/9dpo. Seems open but can't really tell. A few days ago it was in the low, hard position, usual position for post-ovulation. Could this mean anything or should I get off Mumsnet and stop overthinking everything!

Focusfocus · 01/02/2015 21:06

Not to be a downer, my first cycle TTC was January so all new. Had pin pricking sensations and followed by frightful AF like cramps at implantation time, exactly on the implantation window.

But, AF arrived on time, and in fact sent me reeling with pain in an ambulance to the hospital. It was like nothing before. They did bloods, no pregnancy had happened just a really really nasty AF.

Fx for all else! Have begun cycle 2 with eating for each phase of the cycle and supplementing to support each phase.

montymum · 01/02/2015 21:19

Hi all can I join you. I have been really good this cycle trying not to symptom spot etc and have decided I will not test until After AF is due on the 4th. However a couple of hours ago I went the toilet and got a streak of blood when I wiped. nothing since so now start thinking is this early af 5 days early or implantation. I know only time will tell but is going to be a long 4 days !

potatopal · 01/02/2015 21:30

Yep cremedecacao I want to skip forward to. Sorry you're miserable.. and not au fait with the cervix thing yet - seems hard to reach! For distraction, I ordered some healthy snacks online to prepare for the next phase if we need to try (trying to be realistic now.) And for fun I looked at maternity wear and baby names.

MillieMoodle you sound like you should have a bfp but i'm no expert..you're full of symptoms.

And Focusfocus that sounds like an awful time you had. Good to look ahead to the next cycle while we wait for the results of or in some cases just recover from this cycle. ... Have a good week y'all! Roll on those best testing days. And some certainty so we can plan for more tries or make our first appointments! :) :)

BuggerLumpsAnnoyed · 01/02/2015 21:30

How are you feeling now focusfocus ?

montymum were you on the teachers thread? waves

fingers crossed!!

cremedecacao · 01/02/2015 21:32

And thanks potatopal (great name)

MillieMoodle · 01/02/2015 21:42

Thanks potatopal, I've still got everything crossed hoping for it, but also starting to wonder whether it's all in my head!
I've been on the pill so long I can't remember what AF symptoms I used to have. We were really lucky with DS and I got a bfp on my first cycle so I haven't actually had a proper period since I was about 15 (I'm now 31).
Have resisted the urge to POAS again. Will hold out as long as possible tomorrow if AF doesn't arrive.
Fx for everyone!

Focusfocus · 01/02/2015 21:46

Thanks much better! I like this little group we've got going her :) can we keep this going please?

I have been researching nutrition for a while now, and am consciously trying to eat to support each phase of the cycle. Posting the highlights just in case anyone is interested -

  1. Days 1-5 - (1) iron rich foods - red meats, beans, seeds (2) vitamin C to prepare body for ovulation and keep immune system working - grapefruit juice (also produces slippery cm), supplement (3) Essential fats to ensure plenty of good cm next phase - fish oils/DHA starflower or evening primrose oil

Days 5-14/15 (1) cruciferous veggies - broccoli, leafy greens (2) vitamin E rich foods to give plenty of vitamin E for egg to travel in - supplement, wheat germ oil, omega oils, avocado, nuts, seeds (3) Nitric Oxide rich foods which highly aid the development and release of a healthy egg - watermelons or watermelon juice, beet roots, pomegranate (4) Fatty acids - Vital DHA, fish, Starflower/evening primrose oil (5) warming and spicy foods to keep uterus warm - ginger tea, chillies, black pepper, soups, stews (6) vitamin C to support cervical mucous and health of egg - plenty of grapefruit juice, supplement, orange juice

days 14/15 to 28- - (1) warming foods to keep uterus warm to aid implantation - ginger tea, soups, stews, chilli, hot chocolate, (2) beta carotenous foods to supply corpus luteum with plenty of yellow/red betacarotene - carrots, pineapple juice, sweet potatoes, butternut squash, bell peppers, mangoes, (3) leafy greens

Hope this gives some ideas if you want!

montymum · 01/02/2015 21:57

Hi creme yes I was but has all gone a bit quiet! Sounds like lots of positive symptoms on this thread so hopefully will see some bfps soon. I just searched for the thread I was on when got bfp with ds 3 years ago it is really nice to look back and remember!

BuggerLumpsAnnoyed · 01/02/2015 22:01

That is really interesting thanks! Im going to take it much more seriously next month (if i dont get my bfp that is) i don't know much about ttc and its all a bit more in depth than i realised. Was quite naive...lalala just have sex then poof a baby will come.

Im glad you're feeling better focusfocus :-)

Thanks for that list Focusfocus ( sorry to hear about your horrible time) I think I am going to make a hot chocolate right now(ignores all the healthy foods on the list)!

BuggerLumpsAnnoyed · 01/02/2015 22:07

And very sorry to hear about your mmcFlowers

OP posts:
Focusfocus · 01/02/2015 22:27

I didn't have a mmc! I didn't conceive, just a bad period :)

BuggerLumpsAnnoyed · 01/02/2015 22:33

OP posts:
montymum · 01/02/2015 22:45

Don't be disappointed or frustrated it is still really early to be testing. I didn't get my BFP last time until the day my period was due and even then it was so faint you had to squint to see it.

Frantasic · 02/02/2015 01:44

Thanks Creme... Turns out that the symptoms I was having weren't in my head after all... I have a full on kidney infection. Feel like shit tonight. Double whammy.
