Anyone taking part in the Response Medical Trial or any other medical trial?

Hi, I'm taking part in the Response medical trial and wondering if anyone else on here is too?
It's been a very difficult year and a half and I have had three consecutive miscarriages, 1st in Nov 2013 at 12 weeks, 2nd in July 2014 at 7 weeks, 3rd in Nov 2014 at 9 weeks. It's a 4 month waiting list for my Recurrent Miscarriage Clinic so I'm taking part in the trial as want to keep things moving as worried I'm running out of time (I'm 36 this year - although I was 33 when first started TTC) but I'm in the 2WW and feeling terrified.
There's a lot of extra support offered as part of the trial but I'm feeling a bit lonely and out on a limb about it.
Anyone else on the same boat or had medical trial experience?

Girlie, I think you are right. They need, in the end to have had 150 women haven taken something, drug or placebo.

As for a diary, got to love a bit of new stationery!! It might help you look at each day, at the end of the day, as a good day. This has help me, just by thinking 'today has been a good day', then another good day, a good week, a good month. I think it all helps the positive vibes, and having the extra support and appointments etc.

How are you getting on with the injections?

clairemorgan81 · 23/04/2015 19:35

I see I understand now thanks ladies.none of this was explained to me when I joined I didn't know about 150 number or anything. Gosh I get it now I'm pleased they are freezing recruiting as the pressure is bad enough without thinking about that! thanks for info size x

LouiseM1987 · 23/04/2015 19:43

I think it's a good idea the trial will be frozen but at the same time sad that those who miss out won't get to go on it.
I've been randomised the injection wasn't bad at all but tomorrow I might not this that !
Girlie I think that's a really good idea, two of my miscarriages were missed and one natural but a lot earlier Im currently trying to find my diary as I bough one every time to record but couldn't face it... Now I think I need to ! Look for warning signs or look at positives and remember the good signs !

x

girliesaints · 23/04/2015 20:10

Louise, glad to hear the randomisation went ok. Did you hold your breath to see if you would get a bfp? Bet you're be ok with the injections tomorrow. Already starting to look forward to them and started to move the time forward so tomorrow will be able to do In the evenings after I get home from work and DD is in bed.

LouiseM1987 · 23/04/2015 20:17

Girlie i was worried as I had the fmu at 5ish as couldn't sleep and didn't want to risk using smu a couple of hours later haha... worried about tomorrow... I had the first one at 11 which is fine as i normally go home for lunch every day but I don't Friday's but finish at 3. I think I'll just ask to pop home and change the hours over the weekend to the evening. Don't fancy taking the injection at work ! How are you finding the injections ?
I hope this time it's good !
?X

Girlie, a diary is a great idea. I'm always going throughy diary with ds :)
I took a diary with each and every one I lost too, and I have a nice full diary with this one :) It's great to look back.
I bought 'My pregnancy diary' too which is a yellow ring bound book on Amazon, think about £12. It takes your rough each day of pregnancy, thoroughly recommend it.

Size so pleased your scan went well!!! And Yey for no more injections. Hopefully you'll be able to relax a bit more now the crucial stage has been passed. So excited for you!!

Louise, glad you've been ok with your injections. How's the bleeding?

Re the trial. My trial MW said only 60-odd had been randomised so far. She said they will be recruiting until July, but those recruits would only be given 3 months instead of 12, as the trial they want to end by October/November. Not sure if that's across the board? They were going to stop recruiting in February just gone but didnt have enough by then.
They were also really excited as they're in the quarterly newsletter this month ha ha.

Claire was it you who said about being highly fertile, catching first month etc? We've caught every single month we've tried, so don't think its a bad thing. We had 3 months off before this one and caught first time so please don't worry about that x

Choccywoccydodah · 24/04/2015 09:03

*given 3 months instead of 9 sorry, not 12!

girliesaints · 24/04/2015 09:26

Choccy, I've caught first month and it has been playing on my mind so it's reassuring that you have too and now got to 12 weeks. Hope you're having a fab trip x

Choccywoccydodah · 24/04/2015 10:01

14 weeks tomorrow girlie! :)
Fab trip, still in bed. Home tonight, can't wait to see ds!!!

Indiedog · 24/04/2015 11:26

Girlie, I caught first month too! I will be eight weeks on Monday, and today is the furthest I've got, so I will be over the moon to get to Monday and my eight week scan!!! Blush

LouiseM1987 · 24/04/2015 14:49

I always catch first month :s hoping this one sticks around x

clairemorgan81 · 24/04/2015 15:23

you ladies are very lucky catching first try although I fell pretty quickly for my 3 miscarriages but it hasn't happened this time. typical when on this trial!x

girliesaints · 24/04/2015 15:36

Claire, appreciate it must be frustrating and annoying that newbies have caught before you. When are you due to start ov testing? Lots ?????? coming your way x

clairemorgan81 · 24/04/2015 16:52

I'm due to start ov testing next wed but if last month anything to go by I 'll be testing for a week before I get a positive....I'm so pleased for you all please dont think I'm not x

Choccywoccydodah · 24/04/2015 19:09

Indie that's amazing news that you're your furthest!!!!!!!

Claire masses of dust being sent your way! This WILL be your month!

Indiedog · 24/04/2015 20:25

Thank you choccy, I'm feeling a bit funny, not nervous but very aware! Ive been suffering with completely random nausea, just comes on at the most random times, but I didn't have it with my MC's so I'm hoping the sickness is a good sign.

Sending lots of luck and dust to everyone this month. I always tilted my hips up, or put a pillow under to raise that end up, tip it in as my hubby said!!! Going to sound gross, but I would fold a bit of tissue tuck it between my legs, knickers on and tilt myself up, and literally just lay there for about 15/20 mins, hubby would fall asleep content Wink, and I'd lay there, eventually getting up for a wee!

Choccywoccydodah · 25/04/2015 08:35

Indie, exactly what I used to do with the tissue Grin

Sickness is a fabulous sign. Mine was also random! All day, then all night, but mostly in then evening. Mostly went around 9 weeks but not got my appetite back until now!

Second trimester today, 14 weeks down...... :)

girliesaints · 25/04/2015 11:44

Woop woop choccy, reaching second trimester! All plain saying from here!

Indie& Choccy, you made me laugh with the tissue advice. Never heard of it before. Each time I've fallen pregnant, I've laid flat immediately Afterwards and not run to get have a shower straight away!

Feeling ropey today. Hope sign things are progressing or could be sign been up most of the night with DD who was sick. She's fine now, whilst I want to crawl back to bed. ??

sizethree · 25/04/2015 12:32

You made me laugh as I too am a hip tilter and tissue folder! Oh the glamour of TTC!
Congrats Choccy for graduating into the second trimester!

wow how wonderful for you choccy. congrats.

I also lie down for ages afterwards trying to keep it all in!! It's very glamorous isn't it!!x

Marchgirl · 25/04/2015 13:28

Congratulations on reaching second trimester choccy! I've never really bothered with the lying down thing, although because of dd it tends to be night time anyway, but certainly no tilting or tissues. Am i missing out?!

Indiedog · 25/04/2015 14:19

With my DD I resorted to putting my legs up the wall for about ten mins! As I said before to 'tip it in the right direction'!!!
Legs up, tilting and tissue, oh so glamorous Wink

Choccywoccydodah · 25/04/2015 15:43

I've always used tissue when DH 'gets out' to keep used clean until I got to the loo ha ha! I just used it a different way when ttc Grin

girliesaints · 27/04/2015 06:16

Indie, good luck for your scan today x

clairemorgan81 · 27/04/2015 06:46

Good luck Indie hope all goes well Smile x
