Anyone taking part in the Response Medical Trial or any other medical trial?

Hi, I'm taking part in the Response medical trial and wondering if anyone else on here is too?
It's been a very difficult year and a half and I have had three consecutive miscarriages, 1st in Nov 2013 at 12 weeks, 2nd in July 2014 at 7 weeks, 3rd in Nov 2014 at 9 weeks. It's a 4 month waiting list for my Recurrent Miscarriage Clinic so I'm taking part in the trial as want to keep things moving as worried I'm running out of time (I'm 36 this year - although I was 33 when first started TTC) but I'm in the 2WW and feeling terrified.
There's a lot of extra support offered as part of the trial but I'm feeling a bit lonely and out on a limb about it.
Anyone else on the same boat or had medical trial experience?

Good luck Choccy. I'll be thinking of you this afternoon.
I've got my dating scan on thurs which seems a big early, but they rolled the 12 week one for the trial and the dating in together.
I've opted out of screening so no blood taken for that at booking appointment and no nucal measurements this thurs.
I'll wait til the later scan when things will be clearer.
I'm also hoping to get away in a couple of weeks.
We've booked the week of May 4th off, as its out two year wedding anniversary and I'd love some sunshine. Just need to ask MW opinion on flying in week 14 as I'm still pretty nervous.

I've just spoken to our trial nurse, about moving my injection time. As the protocol says between 20-28, I could basically move my time to 8.30 in the morning straight away as its within the four hour time frame.
She has emailed someone to check. But I am going to move injection time as of tomar, then I don't have to race home on my lunch to do it!

sizethree · 21/04/2015 12:23

Indie bear in mind that on the days you pop in to hodpital to get bloods (and replacement injections) that you're not supposed to take the injection before those appointments. Flag this with your nurse as it may throw a spanner in the works if you do them in the AM.

My friend had the same indie! Measured high, then bloods were 1/90, amino was 1/7!! Baby fine though it was extra worry.

Size if you do want the NT, you got to have it before 13+6 btw x

girliesaints · 21/04/2015 13:49

Indie, let me know what response you get. Haven't got round to emailing them yet as been manic at work.

Just done my first injection, which went ok but sore afterwards but went quickly. Does anyone find this?

girliesaints · 21/04/2015 13:59

Indie, just had a call from A following your inquiry to tell me we can move it. Think they are now calling all is ladies to let us know, so thank you for raising it for us x

Indiedog · 21/04/2015 14:12

Thanks Size, yes I did know, and she did remind me not to inject on the day of an appointment. Did you know that too Girlie! Don't inject on appointment days, until after they've taken bloods etc.

To start with I was a little sore after injecting. I used to get cramp like feeling across the top of my stomach too, but that doesn't happen anymore.
I also nicked myself once, and bleed a tiny bit, then had a lovely bruise to show for it. So don't worry if you do Nick a little capillary, providing it doesn't pour with blood Wink it will be fine.

Choccywoccydodah · 21/04/2015 14:34

I found pinching extra hard helped!

sizethree · 21/04/2015 17:13

Yeh a good tight squeeze between the fingers of the skin helps prevent the pain.
I've given myself one mast bruise once, bled a tiny bit twice and a couple of times it has stung a bit afterwards but I think that is if they are very cold at the back of the fridge and I'm warm and the shock of the difference between temperatures.

Indiedog · 21/04/2015 17:27

Yeah, not keen on the feeling when it's cold going in! It's like I can feel it filling up a little space in the skin!
Then others times it's fine.

Choccywoccydodah · 21/04/2015 17:49

Hi ladies,
All was well at scan except having a very naughty baby not stretching out and playing ball! Eventually got everything, and I've been dated on a day Grin so 13+3 now.
NT fold measures normal but have had the blood test too so have to wait for results.
Here s/he is!
Next appt 16 weeks on 11th May, no scan :(

Choccywoccydodah · 21/04/2015 17:50

LouiseM1987 · 21/04/2015 18:09

What a perfect little baby !
Such a clear scan ! Will you find out what your having ?

girliesaints · 21/04/2015 18:43

Wood woop Choccy, officially an graduate of the first 12 weeks! I got told at yesterday's appointment the first Response baby was born last week in Liverpool, so wonder what number yours will be?

Does anyone/ did anyone think they had any side effects after having the injection? I've had a headache and felt sick about an hour afterwards both yesterday and today. May be co incidence but as normally I don't get headaches, I do wonder x

clairemorgan81 · 21/04/2015 19:12

LouiseM1987 · 22/04/2015 07:26

Soooo I may have got a positive..... I looked after I done the test but because these sticks are purely crap I just put it in the bin... 20 minutes later I've pulled it back out and there is a line ... Would this be a positive or an evaporated line ?
Also Im worried if it's a positive as I had that bleed on Saturday. Xx

Choccywoccydodah · 22/04/2015 07:26

Thank ladies. Hadn't thought of what number this one is :)
