Anyone taking part in the Response Medical Trial or any other medical trial?

Hi, I'm taking part in the Response medical trial and wondering if anyone else on here is too?
It's been a very difficult year and a half and I have had three consecutive miscarriages, 1st in Nov 2013 at 12 weeks, 2nd in July 2014 at 7 weeks, 3rd in Nov 2014 at 9 weeks. It's a 4 month waiting list for my Recurrent Miscarriage Clinic so I'm taking part in the trial as want to keep things moving as worried I'm running out of time (I'm 36 this year - although I was 33 when first started TTC) but I'm in the 2WW and feeling terrified.
There's a lot of extra support offered as part of the trial but I'm feeling a bit lonely and out on a limb about it.
Anyone else on the same boat or had medical trial experience?

Well girls I tested again last night and got a super faint line. Went and bought a first response for this morning - did the test this morning and it was totally negative. I'm so upset and confused, feel like I can't go on anymore. Day 48 and no signs of anything. I fell out with dh this morning too since I feel like he just doesn't understand and I know there's nothing he can do but I need to vent somehow. He asked to check the test after I told him it was negative and it pissed me off - just take my word for it matey!!
I'm just feeling like this is never going to end, I wish we could stop trying as it's killing me, but then that won't get us a baby! How do you girls get through the days/weeks of feeling like this? X

LouiseM1987 · 16/04/2015 08:17

Philippa I have never had a late period only a week early but testing everyday is draining ! Ive just done my first pregnancy test and cried when it was negative I can't bear doing this everyday for 11 days ?? xx

Indiedog · 16/04/2015 09:07

Phillippa, I think you need someone to give you a definitive answer. Either ask your trial nurse for a blood test, or sod it and go to the docs. You need to tell them this is physically and mentally not good for you. You need to know, for yours and your partners sanity. Before you strangle someone Wink !!

You can't go on like this. I think the more stress goes on, maybe the longer it will take for AF to arrive, and you don't want that!!

Sending you big hugs, be strong. Xx

Meemsmum · 16/04/2015 09:41

Sorry you're going through this Philippa, I think you need a blood hcg taken to confirm levels. You need some certainty and can't keep going on like this without knowing.

I woke up to heavy bleeding this morning so I am fearing the worst. I too don't know how long I can keep doing this and am about ready to give up. x

clairemorgan81 · 16/04/2015 10:20

philippa I really feel for you its like torture. agree with other ladies you need to know as emotionally its no good for you. ring trial nurse and let us know x

clairemorgan81 · 16/04/2015 10:22

Oh no meems I'm sorry your going through this worry. have you spoken to anyone yet? hoping all ok lots and lots of women bleed early on & are fine but I know how worried you 'll be x big hugs x

girliesaints · 16/04/2015 11:06

Meems, big hugs lovely lady. Hopefully just an implantation bleed but give the trial nurse a call to see if they can give you any advice.

Philippa, agree that you need to an medical opinion as it's rather confusing. Hopefully you get an answer soon.

Ok, so I went to the hospital and saw the trial nurse. Firstly, she isn't going to repeat the lupus blood test as the consultant has said my levels are way too low to mean anything. I then went on to tell her about the faint tests but how a FR one was negative this morning.
She decided to do a urine sample and came back after doing 4 tests! 2 trial hpt's and 2 cassette style ones, all 4 had super faint positives! She seems to think I'm pregnant but in the very early stages.. I don't think I am what so ever. She's taken blood and is getting it tested for hcg. Basically, I have to wait for a call tmrw about lunch time to hear the result. Honestly though, me and my oh are 100% adamant we're not pregnant. I don't feel anything, no sore boobs etc, nothing. I know there are super faint lines but I'm just not buying it. Fully expecting the results to be negative when she rings tmrw. At least one way or another I'll know for sure!
Hope you're all doing good, again so glad I've got you all to turn to! Xx

girliesaints · 16/04/2015 21:16

Hopefully Philippa you'll get an answer either way tomorrow x

Meems, are more bleeding, or has it settled?

Meemsmum · 16/04/2015 21:37

Yeah, heavy bleeding with clots and horrible cramps all day. I know it's almost certainly a chemical and I'm gutted. I took another test tonight and the line was much darker but I don't think it's enough to cling on to really. I just wish i'd trusted my instinct yesterday and not started on the trial drug. x

philippa88 · 16/04/2015 22:11

Ah meems I'm sorry to hear this. It's a waiting game once again and I totally know how you feel. Fingers crossed xx

Phillippa, I really do hope you get a definitive answer today. For your own sanity and peace of mind. If they say it's positive, ask for a scan asap. I somehow don't think you will believe it until you see!

Meems, sending hugs. Hope you have a more comfortable day today. Xx

clairemorgan81 · 17/04/2015 12:41

LouiseM1987 · 17/04/2015 13:12

Ah girls :( I've got my fingers crossed for both of you ! Sending big hugs xx

clairemorgan81 · 17/04/2015 17:29

how you getting on testing girlie?x

girliesaints · 17/04/2015 18:20

Still bfn and AF is due tomorrow. You Claire?

clairemorgan81 · 17/04/2015 19:03

same here girlie my af due anytime between now & Mon. I 'll be pleased when if arrives now . sick of testing x

girliesaints · 18/04/2015 07:34

Umm so this morning I got the faintest bfp line, so I did a digital test and it's showing pregnant 1-2 weeks...... I am really scared, particularly if the first test is so faint and AF was due today.

Indiedog · 18/04/2015 08:00

Eeek, girlie, that's exciting! And a digital too. A digital just shows from the rough date of OV making you 1-2 weeks, so if you go by last date of period that would make you four weeks ish.

I kept testing, do you have more of the hospital test?
Do you think someone might be in today, on the off chance if you rung?

sizethree · 18/04/2015 08:09

girlie great news. The digi tests are notoriously less sensitive so it's a good sign you got a positive in that. Get calling your trial nurse. They do have weekend cover.

wow brilliant news girlie so pleased for you.

I have browny discharge today so af is coming x

girliesaints · 18/04/2015 08:21

Claire, that's really disappointing for you. Sorry if my post was a smack in the face ??

Thanks ladies. The digital test would be spot on as ov was two weeks ago this Sunday and AF was due today. Really wish the hospital test was stronger to give me some confidence. Off to call the trial team in a bit, as they did say they would be checking messages over the weekend.
