Anyone taking part in the Response Medical Trial or any other medical trial?

Hi, I'm taking part in the Response medical trial and wondering if anyone else on here is too?
It's been a very difficult year and a half and I have had three consecutive miscarriages, 1st in Nov 2013 at 12 weeks, 2nd in July 2014 at 7 weeks, 3rd in Nov 2014 at 9 weeks. It's a 4 month waiting list for my Recurrent Miscarriage Clinic so I'm taking part in the trial as want to keep things moving as worried I'm running out of time (I'm 36 this year - although I was 33 when first started TTC) but I'm in the 2WW and feeling terrified.
There's a lot of extra support offered as part of the trial but I'm feeling a bit lonely and out on a limb about it.
Anyone else on the same boat or had medical trial experience?

Choccy- hope booking in appt goes ok.

Really not thinking going to get positive BFP, although I've started symptom spotting. Clearly it's too early but my head starts running away with itself.

girliesaints · 09/04/2015 12:51

Choccy, bloated tummy & tired but then again I've eaten lots of chocolate over Easter and I've been flat out at work, so again could be why I'm tired. Ggrh forgot what a head f**k ttc is ?? (forgive my language)

Meemsmum · 09/04/2015 14:21

Girlie, that post could have come from me, EXACTLY how I'm feeling! X

clairemorgan81 · 09/04/2015 14:29

good signs ladies fingers crossed for you. I have absolutely no symptoms yet x

Indiedog · 09/04/2015 15:50

Lovely news on your scan Size, must some sort of reassurance to see a happy little baby.

Good luck with appt tomar choccy.

I have to say I didn't really symptom spot, A- not sure what i was looking for, B didn't want to get hopes up!!! I think where I got my POS at 3wks +3 there wasn't any chance for symptoms. I had been feeling sicky in the evenings but we had a sickness bug at work so I just thought it was that! Who knows!

Also, today I've had a scan appt come in the post today!!!!! Very impressed. It would be my 12wk scan, via midwife etc. Even though I haven't seen the midwife yet, my response doctor emailed my docs and the local midwife team when I got my positive, so I think, for once, they may have got on the case early!
Just praying it's not a jinx. Going to put the date in my phone, and then tuck the letter away! Out of sight, out of mind.
Need to to take each week at a time.

Keep DTD guys BlushBlush xx

sizethree · 09/04/2015 15:59

Thanks for your loveky comments everyone. It furs feel like another of many hurdles overcome.
indie I'm paranoid about jinxing too! I've not written any appointments down in my diary, just managed to keep them in my head. And I keep the letters in the fridge with the injections. Not sure why. They seem a bit less real in there! And I take all paperwork and sharps bin etc to the fury niggley appointments in case it's my last.
I've says it before on this thread, but the greatest gift ever would have been to still have the innocebce of pregnancy without experiencing losses. It must be such a different blissful experience.
I want to speed up time so we can find out about you there's BFPs and sail through to my 12 week mark.
I am SO IMPATIENT!

Totally agree size, I remember having that blissful feeling during my first pregnancy, DH and I were in this wonderful bubble and it never even occurred to us that something might go wrong. We lost that pregnancy at 7 weeks and pregnancy has never felt the same since. X

philippa88 · 09/04/2015 18:31

Yeah I'm always gonna be envious of women who just sail through and don't worry about things! I'm on day 41 now.. I've had 4 mc's over the last year but the last one was over Xmas. Cycles have been fine since then. Is is stupid that I'm worrying I've had an anovulatory cycle?? What would it even mean cycle wise if I had? Hoping I'm just having a long cycle and it's not that. Gggrrr I'm so bloated and have that classic heavy feeling a- just want it out of me already lol!!

It's lovely we have all found each other, strength in numbers and all that :) x

girliesaints · 09/04/2015 19:01

Why, oh why am I am turning into one of those women who's analysing every single symptom, just in case. With DD I apologise to say I was blissfully ignorant and had no worries. Even with the previous MCs at this stage I wasn't worrying if I was/ wasn't pregnant. Not sure if it's because it's the forth attempt at ttc, or because I'm using the ov tests for the first time. However either way I need to get a grip!

Size, almost at the 12 wk markbut just think how far you've got already & although time will feel it stopped over the next two weeks, to everyone else it will fly by for you x

clairemorgan81 · 09/04/2015 19:01

maybe you haven't ovulated this month philippa apparently that can happen a couple of times a year and be completely normal. I also had my last miscarriage over Xmas and I'm definitely not back to normal. hope it comes soon for you.

my friend has just announced her third pregnancy on fb I 've had to hide it from my newsfeed as I can't bear to read it. so pleased for her but it's hard seeing those posts. I'm sure most of you can relate Sad

Choccywoccydodah · 10/04/2015 08:46

Claire that was the reason I came off fb at the end of oct last year :( there were so many announcements, I'd just lost number 8 and I couldn't take it anymore.

I'll admit with ds I was ignorant. I'd been on the pill around 14 years straight, and caught with him 3rd month. I had brown spotting 8+1 to 9+1 and thought nothing of IT, it was my mum who got me to call for a scan (she's a retired MW). All was ok, and I sailed through pregnancy. I had a bit of red spotting (just once) around 26 weeks, movement stopped around 32 weeks so sent in for monitoring, as soon as I got there he moved! And I had a growth scan at 36 weeks due to being small (he was 8/13 practically on time!).
So those were the worries but mc never crossed my mind! Oh how to be unaware again......

Choccywoccydodah · 10/04/2015 16:55

Hi ladies!

Had my booking in appt FINALLY today (11+5) Scan booked for 13+2 but I still have my scan on Monday as usual.
Been told as I'm 'high risk' at the moment due to multiple recurrent mc, I may not be able to have a home birth. I am gutted, and Mw could see that. She said chances are I'll be discharged from consultant (Prof Quenby) before then so fingers crossed!

clairemorgan81 · 10/04/2015 17:23

glad your scan is booked and you 've got one on Monday too not long til you see choccy bean again!!
I didn't realise you would be high risk ive never thought that far ahead tbh. I think you 'll be discharged I can't see why not.....then you can have your home birth hopefully x

sizethree · 10/04/2015 17:27

I know that must be frustrating news choccy but remember they just want to give you and the baby the best care, so you'll be in the safest hands.
Hopefully things will change in the run up and you get the home birth you are after.
But gif now try to be comforted in the fact they are trying to help you both.

Choccy, as much as possible i wouldn't stress too much as its a while a way and a lot can change. With DD I wanted a water birth and definitely no epidermal. Due to DD being back to back and coming elbow first (ouch)and waters breaking 24 hours before the first contraction, I ended being induced, epidural and forceps delivery. Certainly not the birthing plan I had written!
