Anyone taking part in the Response Medical Trial or any other medical trial?

Hi, I'm taking part in the Response medical trial and wondering if anyone else on here is too?
It's been a very difficult year and a half and I have had three consecutive miscarriages, 1st in Nov 2013 at 12 weeks, 2nd in July 2014 at 7 weeks, 3rd in Nov 2014 at 9 weeks. It's a 4 month waiting list for my Recurrent Miscarriage Clinic so I'm taking part in the trial as want to keep things moving as worried I'm running out of time (I'm 36 this year - although I was 33 when first started TTC) but I'm in the 2WW and feeling terrified.
There's a lot of extra support offered as part of the trial but I'm feeling a bit lonely and out on a limb about it.
Anyone else on the same boat or had medical trial experience?

oh and choccy do you get any more scans after 12 weeks before your 20 wk one?x

That's how I'm kind of feeling too girlie, I won't be too downhearted if things don't happen this month, I'm just delighted that my body seems to be doing what it's meant to! X

Ha ha girlie, I've had a bag of mini eggs today and about 6 thorntons Shock The pile however doesn't seem to shrink!!

I'm not sure Claire about the 12 weeks thing, I think itust be at a point where everything is developed enough.
No more scans 12-20 weeks which I'm gutted about, I have however asked for one at my 16 week appt Grin so we'll see

Bear with me whilst I get all the names correct, I'm rubbish at remembering and have to keep re-reading!!

Sizethree and choccy, you are the pregnant ones? ??Congrats. I am five weeks today.

I have eaten soooo much chocolate, and haven't been able to run due to a bad knee!!! Going to get on the bike tomorrow evening, at least it's low impact and I will feel like I can burn off one mouthful of evil chocolate.

Does anyone know how many people they want for the trial? My trial doctor said it was 150, and I thought that was UK only, but that's 150 across UK and US!! Which amazes me, as I feel quite lucky to be on the trial now.

I got missed before they started the trial where I am! It was only because I had my 4th MC, I rang the hospital to check on my appointment, and instead of getting put through to the consultants receptionist, I got through to the big Boss lady!!!! Which was quite scary, I apologised!!! She then had a good old chat to me and put me on to the trial doctors, and the rest is history!! It was quite funny, if I hadn't got put through by mistake, I wouldn't be where I am now! So I am hoping it's all a little bit of fate Wink

Louise morning with FMU is recommended, although some of us tested in the evening too :)

Just thought i'd say hello! I'm on the trial too and have read this whole thread - im up to date with you all! And hello Sarah, just me! Lol. Currently im waiting on AF turning up, I didnt get any smiley faces last month so am hoping i just missed it. I'm going to order some IC opk's too so i can test more often. CD40 today... normally im 32 and all hpt's are negative :s

Really interested in all your stories so wil be joining in if you'll have me :)

Thanks louise, work were amazing and I'm down to 3 days for the moment. Much needed as I'm so drained.
I have my 10 week scan tomorrow at 10am so feeling pretty nervous about it already. Just hoping will all my heart that everything is as it should be.
How is everyone getting on?
Very busy DTD by the looks of all the smiley faces recently.
And hi phillipa welcome! Yes of course please join us. Very lovely to have a new face but so sorry your sad journey so far had led you to us.
Instead of buying your own OPKs just ask your trisl nurse got done more clearblue ones. That's exactly what they are to be used for so please get them to stick you up on more. I used 2 per day on the days that I was most sure I was about to ovulate.
A friendly wave to everyone else. We are being calm and quiet this week!

Hi Phillippa Grin You managed to plough through the whole thread then!!! You have been busy.

Got luck for your 10week scan tomar size three. Please can I ask how the six week was, or choccy?? Mine is next Monday God willing, and I know it's super early, and I'm just worried that at that early stage they won't/might not see a heartbeat and it will freak me out!!

Did you guys see one?

Phillippa, I'm not out of the danger zone yet, I have MC at 7+, 6+, 5+ and 4+, so every week is a bonus!!

indie the 6 week was was fine. They saw a heartbeat but I know it's not skways possible at that stage so if you don't see one it is still nothing to worry about if the sizing is ok.
I still haven't looked at the screen for either scans yet but thecsonographer and trial nurse assured me everything is as it should be at both.

As for ovulation tests, I'm not sure I could ask for more as she only gives me 1 pack of opks and 10 hpt's each month. Feel like I've been give. 'Ample' in her opinion!

I'm just desperate for af to appear so we can crack on with next month...

Oh and I was creased at you referring to the internal scan as a 'dildo cam' lmao!! Grin

Welcome Philippa, you're most welcome to join us ladies. I would definitely ask for more ov tests, my trial nurse told me its not an issue if you need more.

Size- good luck tomorrow. Fingers crossed it goes ok.

I'm head down as busy at work, which is welcome distraction as feeling deflated after ttc over the past week. Anyone else feeling the same x

girlie I'm feeling the same. sick of the whole thing to be honest....I have a feeling this month won't be my month but you never know. when do you start testing?

I start testing Sunday Claire. Wish I knew either way now as have a rare night out with friends on Saturday night would like to know if I can have a few alcoholic beverages or not. Going to play safe, just in case. When does everyone else start testing?

I know the waiting is a nightmare it seems to take forever. last month I had brown discharge which started the day I started p testing so that pretty much told me I wasn't but I still done a few day of tests just in case. if Brown starts again this month I 'll have to do the same but I pretty much would know I wasn't.
there might be another positive this month or even 3 as I'm sure 3 of us ovulated the same time!! yikes how exciting........

I'm testing on Monday girlie. Although the opk gave the smiley there's a niggle in me saying I haven't actually ovulated. I usually know exactly when I'm ov'ing because of ewcm but haven't had any at all. Maybe it's just still my hormones settling down after miscarriage/d & c. Feeling a bit fed up and deflated with everything too.

Good luck today size three ! Welcome Phillipa. I got my smiley today yippee now a stupid question does this mean Ive ovluated already or will be in the next 12-24 hours ? I'm new to this whole ovulation kit thing and used to just to every other day around 2 weeks after AF xx

Re the tests, I got 3 months supply, and dipped into a couple of the second box as I got my smiley 4 days after I usually get a positive with a dip stick so was obsessively testing!

Indie re the 6 week scan, it'll literally be a blob with a ring (yolk) and maybe a heartbeat. I got a Hb as did size, but a friend had a scan yesterday at 6+1 after a scan last weds and no HB. Lots of progression (she's had brown spotting for about 2 weeks) but no HB yet, so don't be downhearted if you don't see one, still early days.

Louise just Dtd every other day like you say. They'll be enough in there for when needed :)

As for girlie, meems and Claire, eek for a bfp in the next week!! The race is still on ha ha!!

I have my booking apt tomorrow at 1pm, very excited. I'll be 11+5 so they've got to ring through for my 'proper' scan. They've got to do it next week or by the following tuesday, as we're off to Dublin for a few days weds-fri that week and need the NT doing before 13+6!
Would like it the monday or Tuesday before we go so I get to see it a week later :)

Hello. Very very relieved to say that we have a 10 week baby in there wiggling away. I did look and it was very surreal as have been in a bit of denial to protect myself I think. But things are as they should be so feeling a bit more reassured.
Scarey that I'm on the last prescription of trial drugs though!
How are you feeling Choccy, you must only have a handful of injections to go.
