Anyone taking part in the Response Medical Trial or any other medical trial?

Hi, I'm taking part in the Response medical trial and wondering if anyone else on here is too?
It's been a very difficult year and a half and I have had three consecutive miscarriages, 1st in Nov 2013 at 12 weeks, 2nd in July 2014 at 7 weeks, 3rd in Nov 2014 at 9 weeks. It's a 4 month waiting list for my Recurrent Miscarriage Clinic so I'm taking part in the trial as want to keep things moving as worried I'm running out of time (I'm 36 this year - although I was 33 when first started TTC) but I'm in the 2WW and feeling terrified.
There's a lot of extra support offered as part of the trial but I'm feeling a bit lonely and out on a limb about it.
Anyone else on the same boat or had medical trial experience?

I can't see them as using app I 'll log onto iPad and should be able to seen from there. thanks choccy.
I didn't Think there was such a thing as too much?

Choccywoccydodah · 02/04/2015 19:14

Apparently spermies quality goes down if you do it too much.
I don't use the app as you can't see piccies lol, I just use the mobile site x

girliesaints · 02/04/2015 19:19

My trial nurse actively advised against trying every day, as it can reduce the quality of the sperm!

Just at I think Mr Girlie was onsidr with ttc this month taking an active interest in the testing, he's just dropped a bombshell he's out all day Saturday drinking, which is the same day I'm expecting Grin Ggrh!

clairemorgan81 · 02/04/2015 19:26

I had read lots of things that say every day in fertile period is recommended unless there is sperm issue I.e low count. honestly I need to refrain from consulting google as so conflicting info.
girlie that's like me today dh went out drinking at 1pm and I was expecting to ovukate but as it happens I haven't today. phew although watch him be really hungover tomorrow and not up for it!x

girliesaints · 02/04/2015 19:46

DH will the same Sunday. Think this month won't be happening.....

clairemorgan81 · 02/04/2015 20:04

you never know girlie you may not o on Saturday?lol it's so frustrating having to rely on a man isnt it x

girliesaints · 02/04/2015 22:16

Choccy, I most impressed with your chart, what is it, as mine is quite basic x

girliesaints · 02/04/2015 22:17

That should have been "what app is it?"

Choccywoccydodah · 03/04/2015 11:31

It's just the free fertility friend app x

girliesaints · 04/04/2015 08:07

Can I ask a question about the ov tests? If you test in the morning and get a negative, can you ov during the day and therefore miss it on the test? Again had a negative test this morning and was really expecting one either yesterday or today so concerned I may have missed it. Sorry if it's a silly question x

clairemorgan81 · 04/04/2015 08:55

hi girlie yes you can ovulate later in the day and miss it as you could get lh surge say lunchtime then by the next morning when you test again its negative again. have you had any other symptoms of ov? I was expecting my Smile on Thursday and still waiting too Angry x

clairemorgan81 · 04/04/2015 09:05

before I was on the trial I used cheap ov tests from eBay twice a day so I still use them as well or else I would run out of the clear blue ones. so I test twice a day x

sizethree · 04/04/2015 09:07

Both months I was using the ov tests I got a negative in the morning but a positive in the eve. It stayed until the next morn so you should not miss it even if you test every 24 hours.

clairemorgan81 · 04/04/2015 09:14

Yes size is right although last month I got a positive in afternoon then it was gone by next morning x

girliesaints · 04/04/2015 09:26

Thanks for the info. Think I'll test again tonight and again tomorrow evening. Never really had symptoms of ov (although I haven't really monitored until now)

Good news Mr Girlie is now onside for ttc this month and although he's still going out tonight, he's promised he'll be back reasonably early so tomorrow isn't a right off. So not having a positive this morning isn't the end of the world.

girliesaints · 04/04/2015 10:26

Claire, it's soo frustrating ttc, particularly when you're body is all over the place! Hang in there it will appear soon x

clairemorgan81 · 04/04/2015 10:47

Yes its really frustrating girlie especially when Smile. doesn't come when expected x

clairemorgan81 · 04/04/2015 15:23

Does this opk look positive ladies- think it is almost?

Anyone taking part in the Response Medical Trial or any other medical trial?
Choccywoccydodah · 04/04/2015 15:54

I'd say almost but not quite, maybe pos this evening or in the morning x

clairemorgan81 · 04/04/2015 16:13

clearblue one is negative so definitely not quite there. I 'll test tonight again. Hope it becomes positive as sick of waiting this month x

Indiedog · 04/04/2015 20:45

Hi ladies. Please can I join your group? I am on the trial, and had my BFP on the 25th March. I will be five weeks this Monday. Got my positive at just over 3 weeks preg, so very early!!

I've had four consecutive MC.

I hope your all getting on ok and feeling positive. I've got the hospital on Tuesday for more syringes!!!

Happy to chat if your happy to have me :-) x

girliesaints · 04/04/2015 21:44

Welcome Indie and of course you can join us. There's two ladies who are also pregnant and the rest of us are still ttc.

Claire- any luck? Still negative here. I did have a panic earlier as lost the test holder- really beginning to think I'm not cut out for the ov tests, but will plod on!

clairemorgan81 · 05/04/2015 06:34

happy Easter ladies.

welcome indie of course you can join. congratulations on your bfp. where abouts are you? So sorry for your losses.

girlie I got my Smile opk last night. any joy this morning? Hope Mr girlie isn't too hungover today x

girliesaints · 05/04/2015 09:16

Happy Easter everyone x

Grin arrived this morning. Mr Girlie was out late but doesn't seem to hungover, so I'm been extra nice to him today for later ??

Indiedog · 05/04/2015 09:56

Happy Easter, face filling day!!

I am in Hampshire, down south!
We have a 6yr DD and never imagined having another would be this hard. But after two years of trying and four MC, we are still plodding along. This trial has given me hope, and even if I'm on the placebo the extra care, attention and scans can only be a bonus. I'm hoping a bit of mind over matter will help too!!

I found the OPK very useful, as before we ever used them, I thought I knew when I OV, but the sticks showed that I was about four days out, so in fact was DTD too early!

The first time I'm used OPKS was Novemeber 2014, I wasn't on the trial then, and I MC two days before Xmas in Spain!! It was awful.

I signed up to the trial on the 5th March, got my smiley face on Mothers Day 15th, and got my BFP on the 25th!!!!! So all very very quick, I kind of think it was meant to be, maybe. Praying it sticks! I will be five weeks tomar.

It's horrible how getting a positive can be a scary worrying time, when most women feel absolutely delighted.

Enjoy your Sunday and Monday, if you have a day off.
Xx
