Anyone taking part in the Response Medical Trial or any other medical trial?

Hi, I'm taking part in the Response medical trial and wondering if anyone else on here is too?
It's been a very difficult year and a half and I have had three consecutive miscarriages, 1st in Nov 2013 at 12 weeks, 2nd in July 2014 at 7 weeks, 3rd in Nov 2014 at 9 weeks. It's a 4 month waiting list for my Recurrent Miscarriage Clinic so I'm taking part in the trial as want to keep things moving as worried I'm running out of time (I'm 36 this year - although I was 33 when first started TTC) but I'm in the 2WW and feeling terrified.
There's a lot of extra support offered as part of the trial but I'm feeling a bit lonely and out on a limb about it.
Anyone else on the same boat or had medical trial experience?

Morning. glad cup has done the trick did you get a Smile ?x

clairemorgan81 · 31/03/2015 08:47

Morning choccy yes I started testing yesterday but don't think I 'll get a smiley til late on this week fingers crossed.x

Meemsmum · 31/03/2015 13:01

I started ov testing on Monday Claire, no idea if it's the right time but don't want to miss the boat! I don't want to use up all the clearblue tests for nothing so fingers crossed I'll get a smiley face soon Smile. What with back to back miscarriages in October and December then 2 d&c's in January and February I've not actually had a period since September so I don't have much to work with just now! I'm just not prepared to wait a full cycle til trying again as goodness only knows how long that'll take... X

clairemorgan81 · 31/03/2015 13:04

best off testing early meems I also had miscarriages Oct and Dec although didn't end up with d&c but took til Feb for period to come back. I'm the same just want to get back trying I'm far too impatient x

girliesaints · 31/03/2015 14:21

Claire- race you to a smiley face. I'm not expecting one until the weekend.

Waves to everyone else, currently in very boring meeting ??

sizethree · 31/03/2015 14:39

Hi ladies. Exciting times with ovulation. We should start a sweepstake for who get the first smiley!
So I had some GREAT news today. My and DH's karyotyping tests came back 100% normal. We are average human beings with no funny genetics afterall.
HUGE relief. And there's no real explanation for the whole drama except that it's likely when they tested my third loss and that abnormality showed up, that it could have just been a random mutation at conception. When I suppose it's good to have one if my three explained and it's unlikely to happen again.
So j feels can create a bit again now.
I'm off sick at the moment with a upset tummy and was at docs today to checked over. All good but she suggested asking for reduced working hours at my job just til I get through the first trimester as I'm very run down.

clairemorgan81 · 31/03/2015 14:52

oh and size yes try for reduced hours you & baby are so much more important at moment its been so stressful for you so a break will do you good x

Choccywoccydodah · 31/03/2015 16:21

WOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOO!! Size that's amazing news!!!!!!!! Absolutely thrilled for you, must be such a relief!
Now enjoy that little bean growing and fighting inside you!
Sorry you've been poorly :( Not pregnancy related then I assume?
Reduced working hours if you can is def the way forward, less stress too.

girliesaints · 31/03/2015 16:40

Excellent news Size and I imagine a weight of your mind. Hope you're feeling better soon. First trimester is always challenging let alone everything you've been dealing with x

Claire- you're on for the race, although not expected until Saturday and then I'll need to work on Mr Girlie this month x

Meemsmum · 31/03/2015 17:19

Great news size! What a huge relief that must be for you. Hope you feel better soon x

sizethree · 31/03/2015 17:50

Thanks you lovely lot. Yes, the news has helped me relax a bit.
I've been ill with a very dodgy tummy. Settling down a bit now but think I've got pregnancy nausea mixed in too so feeling rather ropey.
Hoping for a flurry of smiley faces at the weekend on your ov tests.

what's your plan with Mr girlie then girlie? you haven't been tracking ovulation so do you just dtd every couple of days throughout month?xx

girliesaints · 31/03/2015 19:59

Claire, upto now I've never tracked ovulation using tests but have an app which has been spot on predicting when we should try. Now using tests and app so will see if they show the same ?? time. How many month's have you been ttc?

clairemorgan81 · 31/03/2015 20:23

we started trying last March fell pregnant April had a missed miscarriage which ended up with d&c in July, fell pregnant again Aug again missed miscarriage with a d&c October then fell pregnant Dec & had miscarriage in Jan so we 've been ttc for a year. so ive gotten pregnant relatively quickly just can't maintain them. what about you girlie?x

girliesaints · 31/03/2015 20:35

Just over a year, started Jan 14, suspected chemical Feb 14, Pregnant March 14 but found as missed April 14, fell again Aug 14 and HB seen at 7 wks but naturally MC at 11 wks in Sept 14. Had break since then until this month due to delays with referral. Again not problem falling but staying pregnant. Didn't have any issues with trying for DH x

clairemorgan81 · 31/03/2015 20:54

me neither with my ds, so hard to understand isn't it x

Choccywoccydodah · 01/04/2015 17:12

Had no issue with our ds either!! Very strange isn't it.
Told ds this morning, he's so happy, had a big grin on his face then said 'can we go to the Easter egg hunt now mummy?' Moment gone lol

Choccywoccydodah · 01/04/2015 17:13

Oh ande he said can in hve a brother AND sister mummy. Er no, dh is already planning the chop!

girliesaints · 01/04/2015 20:11

Choccy, classic moment with DS. I can't wait for when I can finally tell DD she is going to get a sibling. She's very aware her friends all have siblings, although she hasn't asked why she doesn't yet.

Choccywoccydodah · 01/04/2015 20:25

He's been asking for a looooooong time, it's been heartbreaking. It was one of the reasons I wanted to try again after the last one in October as Ds asked for a brother for xmas :(
Maybe a brother this year :)

clairemorgan81 · 02/04/2015 13:21

can I ask what you ladies do about how Much sex you have around ovulauon reason for my question is I usually ovulate day 14ish (CD14 today) anyway my dh is out tonight so we planned on dtd today but it didn't happen and I feel all upset like this month is out even though I haven't got a Smile. yet!! I feel like I'm losing the plot, dont know what's going on but I am seriously getting obsessed. how do you all keep cool about it? Sorry you prob think I'm a loon x

sizethree · 02/04/2015 13:47

We did it every couple of days from CD10 and each day from CD14 til I got my smiley face and an extra time after for luck.
Remember you only need 1 sperm to fall pregnant. Even if you do time things perfectly and have copious amounts of sex, the kits say something like it's still only a 20% chance. There's no 100% accurate guarantee, so try to not put pressure on yourself. I know how hard it is though as time passes so slowly when TTC.

clairemorgan81 · 02/04/2015 14:08

it's just so awful feeling so desperate. having a right feel sorry for myself day ha.

Hope your well size x

Choccywoccydodah · 02/04/2015 18:27

Here's my chart. The blue dots are sex, the blue plus is smiley (although I still think I ov'd on the Sunday before).
Try not to have TOO much sex as it can work against you.
Eek exciting times!! x
