Anyone taking part in the Response Medical Trial or any other medical trial?

Hi, I'm taking part in the Response medical trial and wondering if anyone else on here is too?
It's been a very difficult year and a half and I have had three consecutive miscarriages, 1st in Nov 2013 at 12 weeks, 2nd in July 2014 at 7 weeks, 3rd in Nov 2014 at 9 weeks. It's a 4 month waiting list for my Recurrent Miscarriage Clinic so I'm taking part in the trial as want to keep things moving as worried I'm running out of time (I'm 36 this year - although I was 33 when first started TTC) but I'm in the 2WW and feeling terrified.
There's a lot of extra support offered as part of the trial but I'm feeling a bit lonely and out on a limb about it.
Anyone else on the same boat or had medical trial experience?

Yep Claire should ov next week. Creak, creak, exactly why I'm
Pleased it's not this week!

Size- have you gone back to work, or keeping low at home? X

sizethree · 24/03/2015 13:43

Hi. Yes I'm back at work. Went back on Thursday after resting up. And only this afternoon and tomorrow to get through before the scan in Thursday first thing.
I suppose it's good to be occupied but in knocked and time feels like it's standing still. Wish i had Choccy's good fortune of feeling like it's flying by. Must be a different time zone up in Edinburgh!
So Claire and Girlie are syncing up! Very much hoping you get good news in the coming weeks. Even with the disadvantage of squeaky beds. Get some olive oil on the joins or something!

only today to go sizethree......any more word on anything or is it just the wait for blood results now?x

sizethree · 25/03/2015 08:46

Yes, just today to get through now thankfully.
Still at least another week's wait for the karyotyping results. But the scan tomorrow will be a good indicator for if things are developing as they should be. Latter 2 pregnancies had started failing by now and the first one got to over 8 weeks, so tomorrow is a BIG day.
How's everyone getting on?

clairemorgan81 · 25/03/2015 09:24

so have other 8 week scans shown problems? tomorrow really is an important day how you feeling?
I'm doing okay although will be pleased once it's ovulation time as seems ages since last month.....with having the brown from day 22 I didn't even have any hope last month.x

Choccywoccydodah · 25/03/2015 09:37

Size three we're all praying to someone as I'm not religious for you and baby tomorrow. What time is your scan?
Sorry time is dragging, but tomorrow will be here before you know it. I've had words with someone about changing the clocks at the weekend and EVERYTHING Wink

Girlie hope you're having fun on holiday, yes get some oil on those beds!!

Claire when do you start ov testing again?

clairemorgan81 · 25/03/2015 09:57

choccy I 'll prob ovulate late next week or next weekend.x

girliesaints · 25/03/2015 11:10

Love you're changing the clocks next weekend Choccy, very powerful lady

As AF is firmly here beds aren't an issue, although my parents made sure we had the double and asking if we want them to take DD out so we can have Grown up time. Feel under pressure to "perform"

Size, sending positive vibes your way and hoping time speeds up for you today x

sizethree · 25/03/2015 21:07

Thanks everyone.
My appointment is at 9.15 so thankfully not too much hanging around and worrying in the morning. Trying to wind Gian to get an early night but not sure I'll get much sleep.
I'll drop an update when i know what's going on tomorrow.

didnt post this earlier as wanted to hear from MW first, but had some pink spotting around midnight last night. Was only when I wipe and when I stuck my finger in there was a bit. Wasn't dripping in the loo or anything.
I've been to the loo about 6 times since and I've had absolutely nothing.
I've had no cramping or any discomfort and we've not had sex for about 5 or 6 days.
I rang the response trial team at 8, but both my midwives are off today so someone else was going to call as to what to do as my scan isn't until Tuesday.
I was absolutely distraught last night and cried myself back to sleep as I cannot go through this again, not when I've got this far :(
I had brown spotting with Ds for 7 days 8+1 to 9+1. I'm 9+4 today.
Another Mw has called back and said as I've had nothing else try not to worry about it. But if it starts again go straight to epu as they're open 24/7 (I didn't know that!) and they'll sort me with a scan.
Trying not to worry but it's obviously hard. I've got a hair appt at 11, my first one since about July last year so I'm glad I have the to take my mind of it x

sizethree · 26/03/2015 10:45

Choccy try not to worry. It's a good sign that it's disappeared again.
Without being crude, are you sure where it came from? I had v bad constipation and have myself a big fright yesterday as had spotting when I wiped, but realised it was from bum not front bum! Sorry, TMI!
Maybe give your trial nurse a call too as thy will prioritise you.
Turns out up here we don't get a 10 week scan. But I'm being squeezed in as tiday went ok but no way I can make it to 12 weeks without a melt down.
Please let us know how you're getting on. Sending calm positive vibes that's it's just a random few spots. X

Oh choccy I'm so sorry your going through this worry. firstly my twin had pink spotting (well bleed as like you only once or twice when wiping)at around 9 weeks she was scanned and all was fine.secondly if you had with ds maybe it's just the same but slightly later.
surely they will scan you today? I think they will given your on trial and your history. I hope they do.
I would be besides myself why can't things just be straight forward.
if nothing else since please try and stay positive so hard though.
let us know when you hear please xx

clairemorgan81 · 26/03/2015 10:46

thank goodness all ok sizethree I bet you are so relieved?xx

clairemorgan81 · 26/03/2015 10:53

choccy was it with discharge?x

girliesaints · 26/03/2015 12:45

Choccy, although it's easiest said than done, try not to worry as much as possible. Sending positive vibes your way

Size, glad to hear scan was positive and you're getting an extra scan at 10 wks x

Choccywoccydodah · 26/03/2015 14:53

Glad all went well size! And relief that you get that extra scan, I wonder why they don't usually do it?

Was def from my fanjo, as I stuck my finger up. It wasn't discharge, just watery reddy pink. I've just been to the loo and have a bit of browny yellow on my knicks and on the loo roll.
Think I may ring epu tomorrow regardless as I don't think I can last until Tuesday x

girliesaints · 26/03/2015 15:13

Choccy, I would ring epu if only to get the extra reassurance. Although the fact it's more yellow would suggest it's something else x

clairemorgan81 · 26/03/2015 16:00

maybe its thrush choccy? it's worth giving Epu a call as girlie says xx

MimiDoddrioni · 26/03/2015 16:40

Hi all, I've applied for the response trial and am waiting for my screening appointment at the moment. I had my first MC over a decade ago and 2 since last September. Am feeling right fed up with ttc at the moment but am hoping if I get on to the trial, it'll make me get back on it as I'll feel need to do my bit for science Smile.

Choccywoccydodah · 26/03/2015 16:45

Welcome mimi. Sorry you didn't yourself here and for your losses, where are you in your cycle? Will you get on the trial before you next
ov?

So it's pink again, scan booked for 10.40am tomorrow x

clairemorgan81 · 26/03/2015 16:49

Pleased you have scan choccy. was it pink last time with ds?

welcome Mimi sorry for your losses hope you manage to get on trial x

Choccywoccydodah · 26/03/2015 17:02
