Still here, still struggling on, still hoping to get there in the end. Come on ladies, we'll all get our BFPs in 2015 (if not before)!

You just take your temperature with a thermometer that reads to 2 decimal places when you first wake up in the morning. There's no temperature to aim for, but when you've ovulated your temperature rises by about half a degree and then stays up until your period arrives. I've been tracking it since Feb (which was 13 months of trying) and have found it really interesting, for instance, my temp doesn't rise until a couple of days after my positive opk, so we were mis-timing it. It also lets me know that my period is coming within 24 hours.

I use an app called Kindara, which has a community (which I don't post to) but you can see others' charts, including those of people who have got pregnant.

Yep, he's back on Friday night so will test Saturday morning if I'm still in the game.

I've been using the Clearblue digital a bit as well. This month I also used my internet cheapies and now I'm a little bit confused. Yesterday morning, CB told me flashing face. But later on yesterday IC told me LH surge. CB then had static face this morning. Usually I figure I'll ov 24 hours after LH surge, but that would mean CB is too late? As in, LH surge yesterday, by the time I go to bed tonight, ov will have been and gone? Or am I just overthinking this! Either way, I'm not expecting a miracle. We've been using ICs for 2 years and dtd every day from LH surge (and every other day before it) so it's not working so far whichever test I use. I'm just surprised there's a 24 hour difference - I thought CB were the most accurate? Gives me something else to think about anyway. Now to get in the mood. Nothing like a crappy Monday at work to make you really feel like some loving at bedtime.....

This is why I feel temping has helped me to define the window better. I usually get 3 days of readings in my opks (cheapo, can't spend serious cash on clearblue ones when it's taking this long!), faint positive on the up, one full positive, and faint positive on the down. So I never really knew how much longer to go for. At least this way I can give myself a night off guilt-free when my temperature has gone up because I know it's too late.
It's also helped me to reassure myself that my body is doing what it should; I can see the distinct phases of my chart etc. I never wanted to do it but got desperate, especially when the soy messed with my cycle, but have found it quite enlightening. Anyway, enough evangelising!

15 dpo burning??

BurningGubbins · 15/07/2015 19:16

Yep... Seems a good sign but I have literally no symptoms at all now, apart from no period. My temp was slightly down, but not below my coverline, but that may be because my sleep is terrible this week. That's not new for me though. Have started to go a little crazy with the waiting... Then DS was a total nightmare this evening and for a split second I wondered we are thinking doing all this again... I'm telling myself he's just missing his Dad.

LittlePoot · 15/07/2015 20:00

Mine's always a nightmare a few days into his dad being away. After a couple of awful days he seems to get a bit better and we get into a good routine, just in time for daddy to return home and disrupt it all again! Fingers crossed this is just a short behavioural blip. I seriously cannot believe you're going to wait until the weekend to test though! Aren't you driving yourself a bit loopy? seriously, Skype testing is surely the way forward! Fingers crossed.... x

Metalhead · 15/07/2015 20:13

Eeek burning, I can't believe you've not poas yet!! Everything crossed for this weekend. (And if it's any consolation, I also had a moment of panic this week when I suddenly thought 'what have we done, how are we going to cope with two'...)

BurningGubbins · 16/07/2015 18:20

Well, I don't want to out myself, but he's in the middle of nowhere out of contact, so Skype is not an option. He knows nothing about it all! I had thought I'd break him in gently and test on Saturday morning, but I checked my test and it doesn’t have to be morning urine so I reckon tomorrow night.

LittlePoot · 16/07/2015 19:08

I honestly am amazed that you're not peeing on it right now!! You were checking when you ov'd weren't you? So this is either the longest lp in history or we have another thread success?!

BurningGubbins · 16/07/2015 19:33

I might as well wait 24 hours now though! He would really be gutted if I did it without him. He's been away a lot for work of late and is already feeling like he's missing stuff. I assure you I'm as keen to know as the rest of you!

LittlePoot · 16/07/2015 20:02

My fingers, toes and anything else I can find will be thoroughly crossed for you!

LittlePoot · 17/07/2015 19:01

Brindler · 17/07/2015 21:36

WOOOOHOOOOOOOOO!!!! Soooo over the moon for you burning!!! Amazing news!!! Massive congratulations to you! (PS. You're next Little!) xxx

LittlePoot · 17/07/2015 21:39

Sadly no - all I'm testing positive for this month is thrush. A constant joy!

BurningGubbins · 17/07/2015 21:56

I've had mild thrush as well... Joy.

After 19 months I think it's going to take a while to sink in. Poor DH was shattered anyway and is a bit overwhelmed. We'd both started to think it'd never happen. It's still early days of course...

So, this month I stopped taking maca on about CD5 after the chest pains, and just took prenatal vits and evening primose oil until ovulation. We accidentally did the smep. Seems to have done the trick! Flabbergasted!

Metalhead · 17/07/2015 22:12

Yay, huge congratulations burning! Wishing you a very uneventful pregnancy.

And don't give up little, you will get there too I'm sure. (Maybe start a new thread, seemed to work for me Wink.)
