Struggling to conceive No.2 after getting pregnant easily first time round

Still here, still struggling on, still hoping to get there in the end. Come on ladies, we'll all get our BFPs in 2015 (if not before)!

I'm good today ladies, thank you for asking.

Going with Sis on Tues for her consultation to terminate her pregnancy. It doesn't seem real. She keeps saying "why can't this be you & not me?" My cousin is also pregnant with number 3, she is gutted and said along the lines of the same thing as my sis. Crazy isn't it? 2 people who desperately don't want a child fall pregnant, and the person who desperately wants one is having no luck at all! Throw into the mix that my best friend is expecting again and is devastated, and I really do start to feel like life is unfair but i'm not dwelling on it, it is what it is. Fully supporting my sis & over the moon to have 2 new little babies coming into my life!

DP bought a sperm check kit from boots today (not used it yet) I'm due on today, got all my usual symptoms but no period. 2 negative tests just confirmed what I knew a few days ago, so i'm off to buy a clearblue digital OPK this week. Wish me luck for July!

Hi Brindler, yes I've been off the maca for a week and things have definitely got better. I guess it's just not for me, and I'll leave supplements apart from conception vitamins for the time being.

Village, you're amazing. I am having a phase of being resentful of pregnant women I see in the street, not sure how I'd cope if I knew them. Though a couple of friends are trying, so I'll no doubt get that special kind of hell soon.

We're in the 4th month of ttc after the 2nd mc. I was due on Friday and I'm now 13dpo. This morning I checked cm and it was white with a couple of dark brown threads. I thought af was starting but now all is clear. So I took a hpt and got a bfn.
Could it be implantation?
I am also getting a bit dizzy since I started on higher dose of maca and wondered if I should stop it. Dh tales it well so it won't go to waste.
I feel very emotional especially that this month my first mc would have been born and I have a cousin who has twin girls and sends me photos. I know it's not her fault but I can't help feeling resentful. Am I a bad person? I feel an emotional wreck.

Hi Raluca, any news? I think 16 dpo is a bit of a watershed isn't it? Hopefully you make to then.

Of course you're not a bad person! It might also be the maca making you feel things more keenly. I certainly did when I was on it.

Oh yes I know exactly what you mean when others around you get pregnant/have their babies. All of my friends have now had their seconds (even some thirds in some cases!) and one of my closest friends is pregnant and while I'm happy for her I'm also very envious and I'm finding it increasingly difficult to spend time with her as it's just so upsetting. Selfish I know. Strangely I don't feel upset when ladies on here get their bfps! Maybe it's because I don't have to see their growing bumps every day! And of course I know what they've been through to get there, when it seems to come so easily to everyone else around me

Cd2 for me unfortunately. Now that my parents are here is going to be strange to ttc. Still, I don't want to postpone. So July bus here I come!

Ahh sorry Raluca! Spotting before af is so frustrating isn't it. I actually had an implantation bleed with my dd so of course every time I get spotting (most months!) I get my hopes up so feel your pain!

I only had implantation bleed with my first mc. My first pregnancy with my ds and my last mc were without any bleeding. So when I had spotting this month I was confused as didn't know what to expect. We followed the smep but I suppose at almost 37 I need more shots.

Burning - I think it's perfectly normal to feel jealous & envious and of course i've had pangs on that, but i'm choosing to look at it this way, my baby (when I conceive and I WILL conceive!) will have lots of playmates & it will be lovely. Hope you're having a good day today x

Ok, so DP bought one of those sperm check kits from boots, all was fine. My Dr done my bloods last month & said i'm ovulating and doesn't think it's likely that there's a problem, so the plan for July is to buy a clearblue digital OPK and try the sperm meets egg plan. This will be month 11. It's got to be this month if we get the timing right, surely?!

Hi Lollipop, you must be getting frustrated now. After 6 months I started to get pissed off!

Here's some info on SMEP that i'm going to try this month -

SMEP, the “Sperm Meets Egg Plan” is a TTC (trying to conceive) plan that helps you get pregnant faster with ovulation awareness and intercourse timing. Even if you time intercourse perfectly, you’ve only got a 25% chance to get pregnant each cycle. The SMEP method ensures you get that 1 in 4 shot by literally making sure the sperm and egg have every opportunity to meet each and every cycle.

In order to ensure sperm and egg meet, you will “try” every other day starting on the eighth day of your cycle. The timing of this is based on how long sperm live, realistically a few days under ideal conditions. On the tenth day of your cycle you will begin daily testing with OPKs (ovulation prediction kits) and upon receiving a positive OPK you will “try” 3 more days in a row. Skip one day and give it one more try.

Thanks Village, that's really helpful! I've been trying to predict ovulation since month 2 of ttc using several apps, but they all give different dates (helpful)! Although my cycle is regular in that I get a period every month it varies between 29-32 days, so it's hard to pin point. I used opks on month 3 but didn't get any positive results. I left it for 3 months and then last month I used the Clearblue digital opk. I discovered I ovulated later than I thought (CD19) but we should have still been hitting it as we had been dtd every other day from a week before I thought I would ovulate (CD 16/17) through to the week after. As you guessed I am indeed getting very frustrated (upset, angry etc), and I'm sure you know how I feel. We've decided not to use opks this month as it put a bit too much pressure on my OH to 'perform', but I'll certainly be giving being giving the timings of the SMEP a go!

We seem to have done the smep by accident this month, so we'll all have to see if it works.

Hi burning, yesterday was way too hot for me (and also dd - finally got her to sleep at 9pm!). I've still been melting through most of today!

I try and loosely follow the smep too but as I've not had any positive opks in recent months it's made it a bit difficult.

Af is also imminent. Had some spotting yesterday and generally hate the world at the moment! ????

Same here with the late bedtime. DS is getting grumpier as the week progresses so roll on Saturday's lie in! I worked from home today so was diligently keeping windows open but shaded, then lost my shit when I went upstairs at 4.45 to change for the nursery run and found that DH had closed all the windows and opened the curtains up there this morning and it was sweltering!

Same here! Was out in it all day in the 36 degree heat on weds and nothing! Out in it for 2 hours today and I'm red raw! How funny! (But not clever!)

Af is playing silly buggers again. Last 3 cycles have been 27 days. Spotting last weds and now nothing - day 30! Arrgghhh!!

Haven't actually tested. Been caught out so many times by this where I buy a test then af literally arrives an hour later! I'm 99.9% sure I'm not. It's the other .1% that drives me insane in my head!

Congratulations brindler, I'm new to this thread on 2nd month Ttc already have 3 boys aged 12, 9 and 7 and want one more to complete my nutty family ( my mum is going to go Nuts). Anyway I wanted to ask u what's the secret how did u do it lol x
