Ladies, Fred title says it all; we are the ones who shag as much as our men can cope with in order to get upduffed without the stress of scientific whatnots!

Fred rules (copied and adapted from previous Fred)

  1. Thou shalt shag as much as humanly possible in order to get upduffed.
  2. Thou shalt not partake of OPKs, temping, or charting.
  3. Thou shalt keep symptom spotting to a minimum.
  4. Thou shalt share with your fredmates where needed.

JSing lingo

ERTD = Evil Red Tide of Dooooooommmmmmm. Or AF to most others. Also know as 'the witch', 'bitch witch' and 'that one with the red shiny convertible'

Viroid = This is you, dear poster. This is from the first JS thread when someone tried to type 'ladies' and it autocorrected to 'Viroids' - so there you go!

Pant snot = Egg white cervical mucus.

Doing a kitten = Getting upduffed soon after joining (warning: may induce envy in other posters).

POAS = Pee On A Stick (of the pregnancy detecting kind, not from a tree). Also known as PIAR (Pee In A Ramekin - cos we're posh birds innit). Or PIATLH (Tea light holder) PIAWG (Wine glass) or anything else you care to pee in! PONF = Pee on Nigel Farage. Self explanatory, who wouldn't?

ROC - Receptacle of Choice - what one chooses to use for the task of POAS. Option decorations include photographs of political leaders.

JIAC = Jizz in a Cup. Preferable to jizz on the carpet or jizz in the eye. This one's for the lucky men in our lives.

Shagging like something = JSing like a teenage nymphomaniac.

Giving a hooya = Giving a much needed slap to a fellow poster in danger of slipping into ttc obsession. Warning - this may happen to you if you start trying to POAS at 5dpo. PUT. THE. PISSY. STICK. DOWN. IT'S TOO EARLY!

Contraband = Of COURSE none of us EVER partake of any silly OPKs or temp charting. They are Contraband.

Icing = ovulating. Another autocorrect development!

Getting your Cape on = planning some serious pouncing on DH/DP

TWOT - Two Weeks of Torture. AKA Schroedinging!
TWPU - Two Week Piss Up!

Keeping your gingers = fingers crossed, yet another autocorrect development! Shortened to 'gx'

Doing A lemon = Testing WAAAAAAAY to early!

The current Grads Fred is here

The rather nobbish article in which we became a little bit notorious is here. We are the dark side of MN. Welcome.

Happy Christmas shagging, shaggers!

Viroids I have a large haemorrhagic cyst on my right ovary. Ffs Sad

DulcetMoans · 10/12/2014 21:04

Oh no tink, sounds horrible. What does it mean? Are you in pain?

Poochieblue · 10/12/2014 21:12

oh no tink!! what've they said about it?! x

TinkerBlue · 10/12/2014 21:12

Rescan in 6 weeks to see if it's gone of its own accord. If not only treatment is surgery. Both ovaries are large and heavy looking in appearance, covered in small immature follicles. None of this is good news Sad

I get horrible period pain and ovulation pain. Both of which could be caused by this big cyst. No ttc until it's cleared up. Couldn't ttc anyway until the prolactinoma is under control but this on top is pretty shit. And unexpected Angry wankbadgers Angry

jellypi3 · 10/12/2014 21:16

Going back to all the miscarriage talk, I want to just offer some consolation in a way. I can't claim to know anything about this as i've never even managed a bfp, which I personally think is just as hard when you've been trying for so long but obviously in different ways. To me every egg I ovulated is a baby that never came to be. BUT miscarriages, albeit more common than people realise, aren't all that common.

NHS website says:

How common are miscarriages?
Miscarriages are much more common than most people realise.
Among women who know they are pregnant, it is estimated that 1 in 7 of these pregnancies will end in miscarriage. Many more miscarriages occur before a woman is even aware she has become pregnant.
Losing three or more pregnancies in a row (recurrent miscarriages) is uncommon and affects around 1 in 100 women.

Thats only 15% of pregnancies that end in miscarriages as a generalisation - 85% that end in babies. And only 1% suffer "recurrent miscarriages". Obviously these figures will be affected by age, with higher percentages for older women, but generally I think 15%, although not an insignificant number, is not high.

I'm sorry to all that have been through this, and I hope you don't find this insensitive, but I know we've seen alot of viroids suffer this cruel twist of fate and it's worried many others that they too are destined the same roll of the dice, myself included, so I just wanted to post something reassuring.

poochie were you asking about ff? It will catch up with you don't worry. It won't just look at temperature it will analyse everything to decide.

lildottie · 10/12/2014 21:32

Oh and tink try and stay positive, you are finding answers that can be fixed! You still may not have to venture that scary IVF road. You may still have a February BFP!

Purplecircle · 10/12/2014 21:39

Oh Tink that's pants! I'm so sorry lovie

Much as I think we've hit the jackpot this month, I'm already terrified of another MC. AF is due 19th. Christmas is an opportune time to tell family in person. They won't believe any reason for not drinking.

Of course this could all be a pipe dreamConfused

Purplecircle · 10/12/2014 21:41

Thanks Lil that is reassuring

What is FF?

lildottie · 10/12/2014 21:42

Fertility friend app purple

Poochieblue · 10/12/2014 21:50

thank lil I need to stop obsessing! on the bright side at least it's making my twot shorter as I haven't started obsessing about pee sticks yet lol

that was good info on the mc's as well x

jellypi3 · 10/12/2014 22:04

Purple stay away form the sticks!

OP posts:
lildottie · 10/12/2014 22:05

lol! yes no obsessing or I'll be handing out hooyas.

I think it's important to put things into perspective and realise we've just been bloody unlucky on this Fred lately. hopefully it will ease some worrying

ChatEnOeuf · 10/12/2014 22:09

Ah, Tink I'm sorry scan wasn't lovely and normal Sad I've had big haemorrgaic cysts on my ovaries before. The first one they found when I was pregnant with DD...they figured it was evidence of endometriosis and left it alone. I presume it's gone away.

We were taught that it was closer to 1/4 pregnancies end in miscarriage, but because tests don't pick up until a few days late (showing my age!), many women don't realise they've had one - it's simply thought of a late period. FRERs are great in some ways but actually create more heartache in others. Group hug!

Purplecircle · 10/12/2014 22:42

When I told my friend about MC she asked me to describe it. Same happened to her but she'd not known she was pregnant.

I think we are all so tuned into our bodies that things like FRERs tell us way before many people would realise they were late.

My mc was 5+2 - many would have taken it as a weird period and not known they were late.

If we were less clued up on when AF is due then a few of us would have had weird periods

To me I still lost a baby because a bfp means the sperm made it to the egg against the odds, and means the potential for a baby.

And on the last 2 times that happened to me, it didn't become one.

Gingers crossed that this time it's happened again and this time I do get a baby, and the same for everyone else xxx

lildottie · 10/12/2014 22:42

you are right chat that different times lead to different ratings, I think that 1in 7 is based on known pgs so a definite implantation. anyway, I like my numbers better than yours lol! Grin

ZylaB · 10/12/2014 22:48

purple keep a super close eye on your sugars! Mine were a bit weird for a day or two and I couldn't work out why, then did gp test and got a bfp, so that was my first sign (then followed by a month or so of loads of hypos)

lildottie · 10/12/2014 22:48

lildottie · 10/12/2014 22:48

haha hell yeah!

Poochieblue · 10/12/2014 23:03

haha lil I've resisted the temptation to work out how to do it all day! :-D

Purplecircle · 10/12/2014 23:11

Thanks Zyla they have been a bit erratic for a few days. I thought it was because I'd eaten chocolate.
Can't test for another week or so.
I'll keep an eye on it though
