kez it sounds like a tear. I get them all the time coz Mr La likes to come at me from bizarre angles! Ib would be 7-10 days after icing. Potentially also could just be spotting?

jelly only you can make this decision but without sounding patronising you're young and babies will still be available once you've got into police. Equally as lil said ttc can take ages so you might be putting career on hold for very long time.

Just back from midwife. Was really good, they were very nice and put my mind at rest about my symptoms. Got early dating scan on 3rd December and booking in appt week after. Phew!

kez I echo everyone else, mid cycle spotting is completely normal when you have just come off bc. It can be for any number of reasons - including a tear. I often get ov bleeding; just little bits in ewcm on the day of or day before ovulation.

Oh Jelly, it's tough! how long is it until the next stage of the process? I think it was Wil that said you have time on your side, which is a bonus. I think you need to think about how you'd feel if you went through the whole process, got in & then find out you were pg worst case for timing but you'd be prepared!. Would you be ok about it - could you defer as someone asked?

jelly, it is so tough and each one of us will give a different answer. I would hate to think you had to choose but understand logistically that might not always work. kez you don't ov early because AF came early. AF will gave cone early because you ov earlier in the previous cycle. af-ov is follicular phase and can vary month to month, ov-af is leutal (sp) phase and is always the same. >10 days is OK for implantation but anything less is lp defect which can be helped by taking b complex vits. sounds like a tear to me, cd8 ov is possible. also poss that your hormones are everywhere are prog levels haven't completely dropped to stop the bleeding yet.

jelly glad he said sorry. I hope you can talk it through tonight. dulcet is right, we will all have different opinions based on personal experience. I'm very much in the ttc over career camp because I did the complete opposite, but someone who conceives quickly and had foregone their career to have a baby would advise you the opposite to what I would. time is on your side but don't leave it too long. fertility only diminishes with age I'm afraid.

Thanks Lil very wise words. I've always said I wanted a family young, from experience of being raised by older "parents" (my grandparents brought me up in their late 40's) so I've always been a fan of younger parents, plus careers, whilst important to some, have never been the most important thing to me.

Aww jelly that's a tough one - sorry if you've said this and I've missed it but how long would it be from now until you can TTC again if you decide to hold off? Part of me thinks that you can restart your career at a later point whereas if TTC takes a while and you've left it then you might regret it. But then it's an exciting prospect to get cracking on your dream job and hopefully you won't take long to get pregnant so you could do that later too! But if you leave it and it does take a long time you might kick yourself thinking that it is because you are a bit older. Arghh there is no right answer! The good thing is that if you happened to get pregnant right after starting your new job then they might not like it but couldn't sack you - so that could be am option! Not totally ethical I know but hey

Well I shagged last night, yay me. Have had a bit of a sore tummy for the past 3 days - just kind of tender which is unusual. So hoping that is icing related! How long until I can have a rest?! CD18 today, safe to stop shagging now for a bit or should we have another go tomorrow to be on the safe side?? Last cycle was 31 days but was first post pill cycle so don't know if that's normal.

Hmm also I'm a bit worried this week that I'll be an awful parent. Bat, two things:

1. Just Shag. Until the red tide is at your door, shag.
2. You don't have to turn your life upside-down like that with a baby. It's mad enough when they arrive without making wildly unnecessary adjustments to your world. They will learn tolerance of noise and be better sleepers if their world is not silent; they will learn patience if they have to wait for a minute once in a while. Disclaimer: I'm probably a bad parent, DD has been known to eat stuff off the floor but never out of a bin. My DD gets me lots of compliments though, so I'm resting on those laurels for now.
