New thread full of the most amazing women.

OP posts:
MuddyWellyNelly · 18/11/2014 15:17

I'm not hat eating yet as I still can only really believe this is Druggage. Mood has swung other way, oh this bloody roller coaster.

Phone battery trashed so post later.

Ooooh quiet yay for a line, nelly. W fresh, OE ivf I got to trigger w 10000 units and test at 16dpo, which is 18 days after the trigger (and w a decent margin) so I reckon this is it. But no hat needs to be eaten til otd!

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 18/11/2014 15:53

Berry, our previous severe endo sufferer was kept DRing between lap and ivf. I would question the months trying naturally as every AF allows some endo to grow back. Especially if it's severe now...

Joy oh joy! I do hope you enjoy your diffedness at some point. I'd recommend taking those annoying bump pics as we didn't cos I was a complete disbeliever and now I treasure the few we took (all in the last week or so when I realised my pregnancy was nearly over)

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 18/11/2014 15:55

Re: ivf fatness, I put on a fair bit during ivf as DRing made me sluggish and miserable, cp led to excessive alcohol and cheese indulgence but now 5 months after birth I am back to my pre-ivf shape and have a fat person to show where it's all gone. Not to worry, it'll come off in time!

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 18/11/2014 15:56

Squeezes to ray, fox and esp critter. Hang in there.

Waves to the others!

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 18/11/2014 15:57

Ps on phone cluster posting, learned the hard way Wink

ToesAndFingersCrossed · 18/11/2014 16:31

Sorry I haven't posted, I've been reading and cheering everyone on quietly, but I am reading on my phone mostly, and I can't seem to ever log in on my phone so then I can't comment. Was catching up while in the loo today (glad I'm not the only one who does that) and started crying as I read through Critter's posts, at which point someone walked in, heard my sobs from the cubicle and decided that was too much hassle for them and left again! If only they'd stayed another minute or so and heard the yippie I let out as I read further. I'm glad that it's looking better, I'm hoping with all my might that everything works out this time, you really do deserve it.

Joy, I am so so happy for you. You are such a fantastic lady.

Nelly, hooray, a line. I am so happy it's going well so far and quietly confident that it will continue in that vein!

liltoni83 · 18/11/2014 17:01

Hi all.

I am new to mumsnet. I have been TTC with my partner for about 10 months now. Last month i was 12 days late (longest i have ever been late) by my period came on saturday - my doctor is now sending me for a ovulation test. I have also brought at home tests too. I think its time to really start calculating my most fertile days. This is such an emotional rollercoaster. Id love to hear from women going through similar. x

foxinorangesocks · 18/11/2014 17:11

Oh the highs and lows of our thread. Nelly!! I have a buttered hat ready and waiting. Whilst I totally understand the cautiousness, a line at this stage is heartening and I can't wait for you to get official confirmation. And then I will be posting official congratulations of the highest order Smile

Critter I read with my breath held and I am so glad that you are still in the running here. You don't deserve scares or nail biting waits and I'm so hoping that all starts to become a bit easier very soon.

And joy I too was choked up to read about your scan. It could be in a novel that paragraph! I know we all empathise with how you must feel but oh how lovely to all be well at last. Try to enjoy this bit if you can, you are allowed that. And don't forget this is now a thread for plussers too so we absolutely want updates.

Berry I had a catheter after my op and it was really OK. It went in when I was under and just felt a bit odd coming out. I didn't even know it was there and had no bladder sensation whatsoever but I was on shedloads of morphine. I also had a lap done in December, not sure if you've already had one but if you have any questions then do ask away.

Lemon I am ok, I had no expectations and allowed no excitement or such stuff as it is a familiar road. I think it would be very very different if I had a strong test or had had a scan, but really without testing I wouldn't have known anything at all, bar a heavy period. And whopper boobs!

foxinorangesocks · 18/11/2014 17:12

Mad I am liking the word tumultuous, it feels very apt. Nice to see you in these parts.

berrygoround · 18/11/2014 17:50

Thanks for the info fox and ray. When I had a diagnostic lap, I came out the same day so I guess I just naively thought this would be the same. The endo is mostly around one of my ovaries (although) I still ovulate from that ovary, a few random spots throughout my pelvis and then is particularly severe right at the top my my vagina, which is why I find sex painful. Always great when trying to conceive!

lemon I'm going to ask about that now as I didn't realise that's what they did for some people, although I did of course know that the endo will likely come back. I wonder if they have advised trying naturally because I have gotten pregnant before?!

Welcome liltoni. Sorry you find yourself here but you've definitely come to the right place.

ThatWayMadnessLies · 18/11/2014 19:23

Nelly I'm glad the others have turned up with condiments for that hat. We will keep it warm for you until you manage to get your blood test.

fox this thread is nothing if not dramatic. I'm so sorry that you have become so used to disappointments. I hope that Nelly and Buzz's successes (even if this is druggage there are more mininellies on ice) on the DE front give you some hope.

critter still thinking of you and keeping everything crossed that the universe decides to be fair to you.

berry it was me who was downregged for bloody ever. I had hoped for a few months to try naturally but things were worse than they anticipated when I had my lap. I hadn't had a diagnostic lap so my endo consultant only had an MRI to go by when he went in to remove adhesions. My bowel is also affected and they were worried about needing to do major surgery to remove a section. Definitely ask but I think most people are advised to try naturally after the op. I hope that's clear...

I am being summoned rather loudly. Must dash!

MuddyWellyNelly · 18/11/2014 20:34

Thanks ladies for all your support, and excessive use of condiments Wink. I'm feeling less euphoric than I was this morning, because another 12 hours have passed and, well, anything could have happened. Or not happened. I'm still struggling to get my blood test. GP wanted a letter from Serum to take it to the partners meeting to decide if I could have it Hmm. Doc at my work said I can have the test but it would be Tuesday before I get the result. The pharmacy that advertise "pregnancy tests" on their list of services actually just mean that they sell them. So I am going to have to call my old clinic tomorrow and ask them if they will do it. And if not, well I will be waiting 4 days for a result I guess....

Berry, I'm sorry you are having to go through the lap. It's great that the wise ladies here have given you some ideas of things to ask about though. Hopefully it will be less onerous than you fear, and ideally it will negate the need for IVF at all.

Toes I'm chuckling at you scaring away your colleagues in the loo!

Fox I'm sorry you are "ok" if that makes sense because I wanted you to be skipping round the room happy. This CP stuff is so frustrating. You're having immunes done though aren't you? Maybe that will provide some more information. Is work less manic now?

Hi Liltoni. Sorry you find yourself here but it's a great place to hang out. Lots of knowledge on here too so ask if you have any questions.

Lemon 18 days is a long time to make you wait and now I'm thinking 5 days is a bit optimistic of me Blush.

Cool name Ray Grin.

Sorry, that's as far back as I can remember! Joy and Critter, wishing you both well.

Buzzybee123 · 18/11/2014 21:08

nelly what a faff for a blood test, hope your old clinic are helpful. I thought of you yesterday at Soft Play hell I got chatting to some other woman as BB was collaring her child, anyway it turns out her twins were DE IVF :) I suppose all you can do is keep using the hobnobs until you get a blood test

liltoni welcome

Cosmonaut1 · 18/11/2014 21:12

Oh Nelly, I'm keeping everything crossed this is it. And ffs at doctors making things so flipping difficult. Oh they say good news comes in threes. Squee.

MuddyWellyNelly · 18/11/2014 21:44

Ah Buzzy soft play is a magical place. DE twins, cute! iPad autocorrected to debt Wins. Which is about right.

Cos how are you? Are you out of the tent? Or does Christmas chat just make you want to hibernate in it. It does me, regardless of TTC woes.

OP posts:
berrygoround · 18/11/2014 22:20

Thanks mad that is very helpful!

Nelly people don't like to make it easy do they? Taking it to a meeting to decide if you can have a blood test?!!

eurochick · 18/11/2014 22:58

Critter, a yolk is a great sign. I hope against hope that a little heartbeat will start flickering soon.

Nelly, that sounds very promising. I paid for a second hcg test to see if levels were rising, as only one was included in the ivf package. It was only fifty quid I think. A piss in the ocean compared to the cost of ivf! Your old clinic might be your best bet.

Joy I am overjoyed for you.

I am a rubbish ten plusser at the moment. Two consecutive weekends of visitors plus job move and house move stuff have exhausted me. Plus my period has returned at only four months post partum. My mood has been quite low. I'm not sure if that is just hormones or whether the return if AF has stirred up all the negative ttc feelings, particularly as everyone keeps asking if we will have another. Confused I am definitely a bit down in the dumps whatever the cause. I am still reading and cheering you all on though!

loopylou1984 · 19/11/2014 07:38

Critter and Nelly good luck to you both :), and Joy, congratulations!

I'm struggling at work at the moment due to a very excited 15 week pregnant colleague. We're hearing all about EVERYTHING, and talk turns to pregnancy at least once a day. I had to get up and leave when she was complaining about not being able to drink at the Christmas party ??
Generally I'm ok, it's just when I'm at work that things get to me.

Hope everyone else is ok? Hump day is here, we're half way through the week! X

Buzzybee123 · 19/11/2014 08:38

sam bloody hell she is only 15 weeks Shock seriously hope she calms down for you, its tough listening to others whittle on about it

nelly so what does your hobnob say this morning

euro are you moving already :) is it out my way :) I think it was about this time my periods arrived, they appear to be a bit heavy and vary in length, and arrival, they definitely made me moody and really pissed off

MuddyWellyNelly · 19/11/2014 10:48

The hobnob remains stripy. I think the same as yesterday. If it's darker it's not much. I don't think it's lighter either though. Who knows!

Blood test now arranged, at last.

OP posts:
joycep · 19/11/2014 10:52

Nelly - any news?

Euro - sorry you are down at the moment. It sounds like tiredness and hormones are messing you around. I am sure things will pick up soon.

Sam - how annoying to listen to that. People have no idea that actually their pregnancy is really of no interest to anyone else!

Berry - a 5 day in hospital sounds really tough. I hope its not as long as that. The build up to it is awful. We are here to hold your hand.

joycep · 19/11/2014 10:53

Xpisst Nelly - a arggh this looking good. When is blood test? [cautiously excited for you]

deeray · 19/11/2014 10:59

Nelly, you are pregnant :) I really can't believe the shot would still be in your system now. When is the blood test?

Euro - work, moving house and hormones sounds like a recipe for feeling unsettled and anxious. Is 4 months normal for periods returning? I have no idea about anything that happens after ttc! I can't believe people would ask you about having another so soon. Do you think people think pregnancy fixed the problem and you'll fall pregnant straight away?

Joy, have you allowed yourself to take a breath yet? I really hate that our experiences mean we can't enjoy pregnancy. Have you told people now?

Sam, your colleague sounds like a bore. Other peoples pregnancies are generally boring but people think everyone shares their excitement.

deeray · 19/11/2014 11:01

Nelly, you have permission to post a photo of hobnob if you need some external verification of it's stripey status :)
