Sammy I was nearly exactly where you were 3 years ago. I have a lovely 2 year old now and am 14 months through it all again. Don't lose hope. I cried so much over it all. At my 30th I was 11 weeks pregnant and hid as I didn't want to tell anyone why I couldn't go out partying. 18 weeks before my 30th I had 2 operations and had signed up for my first Ivf which we never got to. I too had that milestone in my head. Actually it meant nothing long term. Big hugs.

Had a laproscopy, dye, hysteroscopy, adhesion removal and endo removal on the 20th dec. just crossing everything for next couple of months that it happens. If not think it will be clomid then IVF. I was crushed as thought as it was hard to have number 1 maybe I'd be one of those people who had number 2 easily but wasn't to be.

So will you have to self fund IVF as you already have a child?
Fingers crossed you don't get to that stage though

Self funded from now yep. Work insurance covered the ops as they were considered health related as I've had lots of problems before I started ttc. But now for any infertility drugs and IVF we have to pay

At least you got the ops covered, better than nothing
Well I hope that the same thing happens for you again and you don't have to bother with the IVF! Xx

Thanks for the luck everyone. Waiting around in my little recovery cubicle, my operation isn't till 10 so am a little bored. Can't wait to be rid of the mega ovaries, they are getting uncomfortable!

So they collected 19 eggs . Still coming round so will do proper update later. Pretty shocked.

good lord 19! Great start. You are well on your way. As a 'grad' from this fred I never experienced this (two IVF) but got a baby somehow. Good for you, wishing you the best.

Wow Toes, that's amazing. Make sure you drink plenty of fluids and ask them about OHSS risk. Fingers crossed for good fertilisation.

They are very concerned about OHSS, I've already been given 12 days worth of blood thinning injections (just when I thought I could stop stabbing myself!) that I start tomorrow at the same time as the progesterone gels. I'm making sure I drink 3 bottles of water a day, along with my cups of (decaf) tea. Feeling slightly bloated/constipated but keeping an eye on it to make sure it doesn't get any worse rather than letting myself worry too soon. Have the emergency number for both the fertility unit and gynae ward so should be ok if it does get worse.

Oh and got the call a few hours ago - 11 fertilised, which I'm pretty surprised by considering it was ICSI. Here's hoping many of them make it to Monday and I can have ET as soon as possible.

Wonderful news about your scan Fluffy! Must have been amazing to see that little heart beat. Hope you enjoyed your spa morning, I love spas and have managed to convince DH to join me for a spa day in Feb.

Pikz, sorry cycle 1 post op was not successful. I was so hopeful last cycle after my HyCoSy as you hear so many stories of people who conceive that cycle but alas it wasn't meant to be - really sucks.

Critter and Nelly, great to hear that things are well with you both. Critter, I can't begin to imagine how hard the weekend before last must have been, so glad you had the comfort of being pregnant. Do you really think so re the 2 years? It didn't occur to me to kick up a stink (and usually I am the first to do so!) I know it is a year until having investigations on the NHS and wasn't sure how the fact DH and I have already had tests done privately would impact on referral etc. I am really hoping that taking the pressure off DH and just seeing what happens will do the trick but will be going back in March (will have been 16 cycles by then) and will push to be referred and to go on the waiting list for IVF. I'm pretty sure we will self fund in the Spring (if no BFP by then), am I right in thinking self funded rounds of IVF come off your NHS allowance? I'm not sure how many we would receive so will have to see I guess.

pikz I think the HyCoSy thing can be helpful for up to three cycles or even longer so don't count yourself out yet.

sammy please don't feel sad. I know it feels like it will never happen but remember as terrible as you feel now, it's partly hormones and you will feel better soon. You'll get there a few tonight I think.

Toes I gave no idea, but it appears that 19 is a good number so well done you and good luck!
