Hello. I haven't posted for long enough that I dropped off the thread!

Nothing to report though. I hope everyone has a good week. Smile

berrygoround · 19/01/2015 16:05

Hi ladies,

Sorry for long absence. Work has been busy and have been generally hibernating otherwise (January seems a good month for it!) Its CD35 for me and no sign of AF. It's a case of late ovulation rather than kidding myself about a BFP though. I think the lap has messed with my cycle. Has anyone else experienced this?

Glad your results were ok Trixie. So sorry to hear about the burglary, that is not what you need on top of everthing else. We're weighing up private IVF versus waiting on the NHS too.

Hope you're coping ok with the stimming Toes.

Breeble your story about the scan made me laugh. We have to find humour in these situations!

Sammy hope you're hanging in there.

How are our pregnant ladies? Critter, Nelly, Joy, Fluffy and Cos.

Ray what's the latest with your cycle?

loopylou1984 · 19/01/2015 17:43

So my ultrasound appointment has arrived and it's an hour before my appointment with the consultant in April. It's great in terms of time off work but I'm worried he won't have the results in time to discuss with us.

Also what happens if af turns up at the same time? It's possible if I have any short cycles, agh, what to do?!

I tried calling them but it just rang and rang so guessing they're closed. X

loopylou1984 · 20/01/2015 06:43

Also - thank you to whoever suggested temping (critter I think?) - I love knowing what's going on with my body! X

ToesAndFingersCrossed · 20/01/2015 09:26

Sam - my scan appointment was exactly the same (in April too, last year!) abd I was worried too but it's intentional. With the scan they don't need lab results or anything that takes to so they'll chat to you about it there and then. Dunno about AF timings though, I know in my clinic it didn't matter but some want to have a look on a particular day.

I'm just back from a scan, looks like I have 5 good follicles in the right and 4 on the left but 3 or 4 wee ones on each side too that we're hoping will grow. Pretty relived, I can totally feel my ovaries, so inward getting really worried about OHSS. On the other hand, with ICSI you need a few more eggs. I have to call for blood results at lunchtime and am back there on Friday when I'll find out if we're doing egg collection on Monday or Wednesday.

TheTravellingLemon · 20/01/2015 09:34

Sammy my AF turned up a few hours after my ultrasound appointment. My advice for the ultrasound is drink as much as you can hold in. It makes their job much easier and apparently most people turn up with only a half full bladder.

FluffyNut · 20/01/2015 12:27

hi guys, how are you all doing?
I'm waiting for my first scan which will be this Thursday. I think if I have worked it out right that I'm 7 weeks but I'll know for sure on thurs. not been too sick, although today was my 1st actual vom and it was only a little bit. Just tend to feel like car sick. boobies been agony but eased off this week, which then puts me paranoid why aren't they hurting? !

toes, how are things going with you, your ivf starting in jan?

hi to everyone else x

ToesAndFingersCrossed · 20/01/2015 16:11

Lemon - I did that and she said my bladder was overfull and she couldn't see anything, so she made me go and pee a little bit, which I did, and it was still too full so I had to go again!!! Moor my mock transfer I had a pee about 1h beforehand and then drank a big mug of tea and the doctors all said my bladder was perfect!

Fluffy - I'm glad it's all going well for you, sorry about the vomming, but I guess it must be a bit reassuring in a way too! Good luck in your scan!
I'm in day 6 of stimms, just called the clinic to get my blood test results from my scan this morning and they said my hormoses were a bit low and told me to up my gonal f dose to 225 (from 150). I'm hoping that will mean more follies, I'm SO worried about getting no embryos. They reckon egg collection will be either Wednesday or Friday, but I go back for another scan on Monday and they'll tell me then. I guess I don't get to be pupp until February though!

ToesAndFingersCrossed · 20/01/2015 16:16

I do apologise for my typos, I'm doing another one of my classic "in the loo at work" updates, which are apparently illegible. Or my iPhone is just having a laugh at my expense!

FluffyNut · 20/01/2015 16:38

toes, I was on 225 gonel f. just keep up the good work and you'll be fine. drink loads too. pupo is only around the corner, you're nearly there!

loopylou1984 · 20/01/2015 16:50

Thanks Toes and Lemon for the advice, I just called the hospital and the lady was lovely and confirmed that it is intentional that the scan and consultant appointment are on the same day.
She said if it does turn out to be af time then they can still do it, but it's up to me if I'm comfortable with that.
She said wait till march af and then call them if I'd like to change it, they only need 2/3 weeks notice. Feeling a bit more relaxed just because she was so nice and helpful,

Fluffy, glad you're not feeling too bad, and good luck for the scan Xx

St4rfish · 21/01/2015 20:29

Evening all.

Toes, good to hear you're doing ok, try not to worry about your follies, sounds positive so far! How are the stabby ovaries treating you today?

Fluffy, glad you're ok too and good luck for the scan tomorrow (is this the first scan or have you had one already?) Are you still on any drugs at this point (progesterone?)

Sammy, glad your appointment has come through; even though April seems a long time away it sounds like everything is moving at a decent pace from appointment to appointment for you.

We had our appointment to book dates for first IVF cycle yesterday - starting in 4 weeks, eek! I'm so excited but also a little daunted after going through all the points at which treatment could fail/be stopped... Toes and Fluffy, how do you stay positive without building hopes up too much?

Have my prescription - on injections for both buselerin and Menopur (was hoping for sniffy thing for first drug but no such luck...) Have been told I'm low risk for OHSS (too old - not much left in there to stimulate!) and on their standard drug protocol. After 4 long years (and nearly 2 years since miscarriage) so relieved to finally be at this point!

Critter, Nelly, Joy and everyone else, how are you all? Don't leave us! Has been quiet on here - had to look for the thread on page 2!

loopylou1984 · 22/01/2015 06:29

Thanks Star, we're quite busy till the end of feb so hoping time just flies by!

4 weeks! That's no time! Good luck Smile Xx

FluffyNut · 23/01/2015 09:00

Good morning ladies.
I has my scan yesterday and saw a little grain of rice with a heart beat. there's only one and due date will be 8th September. thanks for your support getting here!

I have felt optimistic since learning we needed ivf because I new this would never happen naturally so as long as I did everything I possibly could then I had to hope for the best. I think I would have felt different and less positive if it hadn't worked first time. There were times I worried what if I've done it wrong, but I felt worrying would just make me feel bad so I just kept as positive as I could.
Toes, hope you are ok and your follies have grown nicely.
sorry if I've forgotten anyone else, writing on my phone. off to a spa morning where I'll have to miss half the stuff haha.

TheTravellingLemon · 23/01/2015 09:06

Oh congratulations Fluffy. How wonderful! GrinFlowers

loopylou1984 · 23/01/2015 10:29

Congratulations Fluffy Smile

Pikz · 23/01/2015 10:37

Amazing news fluffy.

Cycle 1 post op was not a success so on to cycle 2

CritterPants · 23/01/2015 21:56

Hello all

Fluffy that is magical. The flickering heartbeat is a lovely lovely sight.

Star - great news that you're getting going so soon. I am really pleased for you. Once you're on the IVF conveyor belt it all moves more quickly and the outcome is not in your control, so it's easier to relax (although it is all-consuming while it's happening).

Sammy I've had internal scans while bleeding before lots of times (have even had one in the middle of a full-on mc Sad) - they've seen it all before a LOT so don't worry at all.

Trixie two years is ridiculous. They usually say see a specialist after a year if you're under 35, six months if you're over. Sorry you're being messed around. Push as hard as you can.

Toes fantastic that you're IVFing too. I think there's going to be a run of good luck on this thread. Hang in there lady!

Breeble welcome and sorry to hear about the horribly frustrating wait. There is a LOT of waiting in TTC and pregnancy. Anything you can do to spend the time enjoyably, do it - crafts, whatever. Anything to take your mind off things!

All fine with me I think. Just over 15 weeks. My little boy's birthday was last weekend, I went and lit a candle for him at a lovely old church and cried a lot. I'm happy to have the day behind me but it was painful to see our friends' gorgeous little one year old at the family event I was at later that day. I am so grateful to be expecting again.

loopylou1984 · 23/01/2015 22:10

Critter - so lovely to hear from you, glad all is ok. 15 weeks! Will you find out the sex when the time comes?

Thank you for the advice re the scan. I think I'll try and change it if it looks like af will be around, but not worry too much if I can't. It still seems v. far away at the moment. Xx

CritterPants · 23/01/2015 23:03

Sammy the scan date will creep up faster than you think I reckon... Time just crawls when the weather is foul in January and Feb but spring is on the way and I so hope this will be your year. I have everything tightly crossed for you lovely.

I think we will find out the sex. We didn't last time and by the end I was so ready to know! My dad's cousin predicted in January last year after J's birth that I would get pregnant again in October and that this one would be a girl so we will see if she's right!

loopylou1984 · 24/01/2015 08:38

Thank you Smile

Wow - spooky if she is!
My sil has predicted that I will be pg at the same time as other sil which won't be till march at the earliest as that's when they'll start trying... We'll see!

Thank you for your earlier advice on temping, I'm finding it really useful. I like the warning that af is imminent and the reassurance that I have ovd! Xx

TheTravellingLemon · 24/01/2015 09:40

We're moving house in a few weeks and my mum keeps saying 'new house new baby' to me. Just a started my tww, so we'll see!

loopylou1984 · 24/01/2015 10:17

Fingers crossed for you travelling! Xx

MuddyWellyNelly · 24/01/2015 19:01

Berry thanks for asking after me. I am now 13+4 and so far all looks well. We had our 12 week scan last week which was amazing. NT results have just come back and apparently there is a 1 in 100,000 chance of the baby have Downs. The joys of using a young donor I guess Grin. This was a big hurdle, so great to have it behind us. I even managed to have a quick look at babygrows today, but definitely resisted buying any. I am going to wait until after the 20 week scan before buying a single thing.

Fluffy that's amazing news, huge congratulations. I think the first 8 weeks or so are the slowest. Things are speeding up for me a little bit now, at last. How many frosties did you end up with in the end?

Toes, have you had EC? How are you getting on? Good luck with it.

Great that you are starting so soon as well, Star.

Trixie, I'd agree with Critter, I'd be telling them where to shove their 2 years!

Pikz, sorry about the arrival of AF. Fingers crossed for a more successful month this time.

Hi to everyone else I've missed. Especially anyone new I didn't welcome! Breeble for one. Hello.

The first of my babybombers is having her baby today. This is the first of many due over the next few months. At the moment I feel fine, but I imagine I'm not going to deal well with AF this month.
