Good evening ladies. sorry for the late reply, had a day with my sil and family and have been playing board games. well I did my tests today and really pleased to say two lines were smiling back at us! I did the hospital's test and it took forever to show a 2nd line, so we did cbd and a nice positive showed up.

have to call clinic in the morning to see what's happening next. I've done so much research to get to this stage but now I don't have a clue!

Thank you everyone for my messages and a happy new year to you all xxx

MuddyWellyNelly · 01/01/2015 22:14

Wow fluffy that's brilliant. Grin. For now, make sure you are taking the progesterone, folic acid, and a pregnancy multi-Vit (Vit D very important). Most clinics do HCG tests 48 hours apart to check they double, but if not I'm afraid it's a case of waiting it out until a scan would be useful. Congratulations! Makes all the pain worth it.

TheTravellingLemon · 01/01/2015 22:25

Fluffy that's just wonderful Smile. Many congratulations Flowers

ToesAndFingersCrossed · 02/01/2015 09:40

Hooray Fluffy, that is fantastic news! Congratulations!!!!

I'm literally about to stick my first needle in myself, bricking it.

MuddyWellyNelly · 02/01/2015 09:43

Good luck Toes. It gets easier. Is this DR or stimming?

OP posts:
ToesAndFingersCrossed · 02/01/2015 09:55

Thanks Nelly, I'm DR just now.
I'm hoping they gave me a wee bit more than I need, I think I wasted about 0.5ml making doubly triply sure there weren't any air bubbles. It stings a bit now.

Couldn't actually stick the needle in myself so had to get DH to do it. I need to get over that mental block by Tuesday because he's away for work, but it gives me a few days.

berrygoround · 02/01/2015 12:29

So pleased to see that the new year has got off to a good start with great news for Fluffy! That's fantastic, congratulations. Let's hope it's an omen for the the thread for 2015.

Good luck toes. Injecting must be tough.Hope you get the hang of it soon.

Critter, so pleased that your scan went well. Hope you had a restful Christmas and New Year and don't have to do too much travelling this week.

Nelly hope you're feeling well. New year was very quiet in our house. MrBerry was on call so no boozing for him and I was still feeling a bit under the weather.

Ray did you end up going out on NYE? hope it turned out to be a good night, if you did go out.

Back in work today. I've been off for three works with time off for the lap and Christmas leave so it's a bit of a shock to the system.

TheTravellingLemon · 02/01/2015 14:27

Good to see you're working hard there berry Wink

I'm in the waiting room at the moment. Having a scan 2.30. Feels like it might be the first step on a long road or they won't find anything and it will be more limbo.

I'm due on today. No sign of AF. Did a test on Tuesday (ridiculous, I know but the spate of faint line threads on here gave me false hope) and it was negative.

I need a wee. Grin

Pikz · 02/01/2015 14:36

Yay fluffy! Congratulations

berrygoround · 02/01/2015 15:05

Haha, I know Lemon. Back in work and on mumsnet! Good luck for your scan. I hate it when you have to have a full bladder. All I can think about is weeing! Let us know how you get on.

ToesAndFingersCrossed · 02/01/2015 15:20

Good luck in your scan Lemon!

I'm not at work today, and starting to get really bored... Just spoke to my mum on the phone for an hour. She is at work, clearly taking the Berry approach to today Wink!

Do you think it's ok if I go for a jog? The nurse said I shouldn't run after ET but I didn't think to ask about before. Dr google seems split 50/50

Scan was fine, except I burst into tears at the endSad. I'm so embarrassed and such an idiot. I don't know what came over me. Just all felt a bit much.

Anyway he said there was nothing too alarming but I would get the results in ten days.

Thanks for the kind words. At the moment I feel like mumsnet is the only place I can talk about things. I haven't told anyone irl I cried at the clinic Blush

I feel your mum's pain Toes. Today is dragging. I'm a solicitor so I time record and my timesheet is really not what it should be today! Back to it next week! I would say a jog is ok before ET but then I have never had IVF so I'm probably not the best person to be giving advice.

Lemon, sorry to hear you got upset. I swear they put something in the water at hospitals that makes you cry as I have had a few similar incidents. Don't be embarassed, the doctor will have seen it all before.

loopylou1984 · 02/01/2015 17:36

Lemon - I cried at the hospital the other day too... And we were only there for the initial appointment! I know I'll cry one the tests start too.

Think I'm out for this cycle, cramping and got a bfn earlier so I give af a couple of days... Although I haven't turned in to an emotional wreck yet so wouldn't have thought it'll be tomorrow! Lol. X

Buzzybee123 · 02/01/2015 19:53

fluffy eeeeekkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk congrats, very exciting :)

lemon I'm sure people have cried but just haven't admit it Wink its an emotional rollercaster so you are normal to cry

berry good to see you have your work/personal life balance correct Wink

nelly bloody hell woman are you not due any day yet Hmm Grin I'm sure elephants are quicker than this

critter very pleased for you, will you find out what you are having or wait until the end

sammy if only fat was transferrable Hmm I'd help you out

toes the jabbing is misery, youtube is good for looking up how best to jab

loopylou1984 · 02/01/2015 21:46

Lol Buzzy, that made me chuckle.

Remember when we were discussing pg predicting cats? My cat never sits on me, but the last 2 nights he's had several cuddles - MUST be a sign Wink Lol!
Or more likely he's missed us because we've been out so much over Xmas ??

Ginestas · 03/01/2015 08:55

Just popping in to say fluffy that's brilliant news! Congrats! How are you feeling? Do remind us of your story!

Good luck toes. I always got DH to do the stabbing as I'm a whimp.

Waves to everyone else.

TheTravellingLemon · 03/01/2015 10:20

Thank you all. I'm feeling much better today. AF arrived yesterday afternoon, but I am coping better this time than the last few cycles.

Donna I think the lady was a bit shocked because we'd been laughing and joking about my full bladder seconds before and then all of a sudden I was in floods of tears. Then she told me not to be so anxious (which I hate, because how do you control that?) And I started to sob. Blush. Never mind, not my proudest moment, but it's done now Smile

toes is the jabbing in your tummy? I've done tummy ones before and they're not actually as bad as you think.

Sammy I'm adding pg predicting cats to my list of symptoms to watch out for! The ridiculous thing is that I've been pregnant before so I should know better Grin

loopylou1984 · 03/01/2015 10:41

Lemon I agree - so annoying when people tell you to relax/not worry... 'Oh ok, I'll just stop, thanks, didn't think of that!'
My consultant said it too which just made me cry more! Lol.

Sadly I don't think the cats accurate judging my the af cramps I'm getting today. Xx

FluffyNut · 03/01/2015 16:14

hi and thank you for your messages.
my story so far, I have been ttc since oct 2011, never having a positive test.
spent a fortune on clear blue fertility monitor and doing the right things but nothing happened. me n dh started investigations feb 2014, which showed tube damage as a result of unknown chlamydia when I was with my previous partner (1st sexual partner for 12 years so pretty gutted he had infected me)
I had a lap and dye in Aug paid private as we had waited so long.
long protocol meant I started down reg sniffing on 11th November, gonel f pens at 225 started 4th Dec, and had 17 follies.
egg collection on 16th Dec collected 19 eggs (and soo painful) of which 17 were investigations ,16 fertilised, and then finally 7 made it to blasts. had egg transfer on Sunday 21st Dec.
test day 1st Jan which was a bit scary because I had been up late for new years eve I didn't have a good concentration of pee! but eventually two lines showed.
1st scan will be 22nd Jan.
not feeling it yet, it's all surreal as I know so much can go wrong!

good luck to everyone else xxx

loopylou1984 · 03/01/2015 19:39

Fluffy - are you in the UK?
If so, would you mind telling me how much it cost privately? I'm hoping we can afford private if we get that far and the waiting lists turn out to be too long.

I just cried at a Vicks vapour rub advert because the woman on there had a baby.... I think af is on her way! X

TheTravellingLemon · 03/01/2015 20:59

Sammy I feel your pain. Let it out, it will make you feel better Flowers

I'd be interested to know about costs too. I definitely can't do anything on the nhs as I have a DS already.

MuddyWellyNelly · 03/01/2015 21:55

Costs can vary a lot dependant on where you are. I was around £4k a go. That was probably the lower end of the scale. Some of the London clinics can be a lot more.

Fluffy that's a long journey to here. But IVF was invented for tube damage so you always had good odds. It's still scary though, and wonderful about the BFP. Are you still testing?

Buzzy that's not helpful Grin. WHYYYY is it going so slowly???
